Sad that a nice campground has turned into a trailer park. Last time we went there to see about staying a few days. Was informed it was booked solid. Most were there all year. Porches and steps along with fences built everywhere. Sad I helped build that place when it started up, When it was ran by the State. Always clean and a nice spot. Now way to much drinking...

We really enjoyed this place for 1 whole summer. The people there are like family. ..even if you're staying as a guest for a weekend the "Goaters" will definitely show you hospitality! Get on a boat and don't forget to see the goats that live on the island (across from the campsite) . They LOVE...

It was a clean nice place for fishing. The water was crystal clear and easy to walk to. It has plenty of rv parking, but they have taken most of the bank line for rv parking. I found it to be crowded by vehicles taking up the old...

Day 401 of canoeing from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico and back . 📍 Mississippi 🗺️ 3,893 miles travelled 🧭 Gulf of Mexico arrival day; 322 . I stopped at a spec of land famously named “Goat Island”, as you can imagine why. I grabbed a few crackers and some bananas that someone gave me, (as bananas are bad luck to have on a boat), and proceeded to trek across the island in search of mythical creatures. I wanted to see goats damn it, and I wasn’t going to let anything stop me! The cliffs were steep, but I made my way around the fallen trees from the last tornadoes, and there in a weedy pasture stood 7 goats, ripe with hungry eyes. They immediately swarmed me all around, making it impossible to walk away, and so I did what I came to do. I fed them. I fed them bananas, crackers, whatever else I had in my pockets and part of my shirt. They then proceeded to follow me all the way back to my canoe.
