Pocono Valley Resort — Hotel in Jackson Township

The location is mediocre at best, but lacks adequate facilities to occupy the huge amount of campers that the location can house in their cabins. Sure there is a lot to do, but expect long lines for any of the limited activities that are spread around the lake even when it is at half capacity. Staff are friendly and hardworking, but sometimes look like they lack the proper training to operate certain rides like rock climbing or obstacle courses.

The cabins are a story of their own, completely run down and disgusting. Holes in the ceiling reveal the outdoors, which brings in flies and other insects and the bathrooms are not maintained as we found previous campers clothing and garbage still in there. Tiles are missing in the bathroom and must have had fungus growing there. Beds frames have protruding nails and are dilapidated and run down.

Don't expect the activities to be any different, the golf range is just some concrete platforms in a field, no concrete path leading to it, you have to walk through another field to get to it. Bathrooms don't have clear male or female signs resulting in some awkward situations for guests. No disposable caps for helmets, which could easily lead to a lice epidemic.

Overall: 3/5 for activities to do 2/5...

After negotiating and finalizing all the details for our wedding over the course of ~3 weeks, the owner dragged their feet for TWO MONTHS on sending the final contract. When they finally did send it over there was an additional $30,000 charge on it... in additional to all of the fees within reason and discussed for property rental, services, staffing, accommodations, food, etc; originally agreed upon for our wedding services.

These people are frauds and snakes. Do NOT trust them. The grounds of the camp are beautiful, and I was originally so excited to get married here, but there was no way I could magically come up with another $30k on top of everything else, especially when it was never discussed before (we had been going back and forth for about 3 weeks in planning, securing the weekend dates, and outlining needs... and then waiting an additional seven weeks / nearly two months aka forever in wedding planning timelines before they sent over what should have been a final contract).

I'm disgusted by their poor business practices and hope others reading this review will consider taking their money elsewhere for whatever their camp...

DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS, OR CLASS ON A TRIP HERE!! I would like to point out that the staff has by far the shittiest attitude I think I have ever seen... although what seems to be the manager was nice, it is ran very poorly. The cabins are filled to the brim with insects, the toilets clog easily, the food is stale and bland, and the beds make you feel like you are actually sleeping in hard wood due to how hard the mattresses were. The pool was unbelievable dirty, to the point where they pulled out half of a WEAVE and never bothered to turn the pool filters on. You can definitely tell the people who were here hate their job, due to how nasty they were. They give you a curfew of 10 o’clock which is outrageous. The “resort” in the name is completely misleading. Bandaids by the pool on the ground, in the pool, hair in the pool, and ect in the pool with the pool personnel not surprisingly watching this all go on.
