BED BUGS AND MOUSE POOP

The Heart Six Ranch was terrible, dirty, and an enormous disappointment for my family:

Poor handicapped accommodations for one of my family. (No accessibility anywhere on the ranch. The handicapped room had steps and barely a ramp.) Dirty, disgusting rooms. (We paid for 4 rooms: there were BED BUGS, mouse poop in linen drawers, and dirty, grimy bathrooms) Run down condition of accommodations. (Broken stairs that one of our kids fell down, loose floorboards, door locks that looked kicked-in, etc...) Exceedingly rude and discourteous owner. (Refused to hear our issue about bedbugs, wouldn't look at our photos or video, became immediately belligerent) Unhelpful staff Poor Wifi Expensive and poorly staffed/equipped "diner" (just a sandwich counter and some tables) ZERO mask use visible during the Covid pandemic

My family arrived at the Heart 6 Ranch 3 weeks ago, after a month-long road trip around the country. We booked the handicapped room months in advance and checked on it before arrival. We met extended family there, so 4 families from different parts of the country rented 4 rooms. We were scheduled for a week-long stay that would have cost over 10 thousand dollars all told: (food, rafting, fishing, horseback riding, etc... are NOT included). Instead, we stayed for 1 day (my wife and I slept in our car because of bed bugs), argued with the owner, were asked to leave, and we took our money with us to Montana.

After staying in about 20 2-3 star hotels around the entire country over the last month, this was the WORST stay we’ve encountered. We EXPECTED rustic conditions, (it's a ranch; there are mosquitos, wild animals, horse poop, dusty roads, and dirt). Also, we're staying there during the Covid pandemic: we understand that there will be staffing and amenities issues. We knew there wouldn’t be housekeeping; that's not a problem.

What we got was: dirty rooms, BED BUGS, mouse droppings in the drawers, no housekeeping, broken amenities, bad and exposed electrical wiring, poor wifi and phone signals, the previous guest's trash under the beds, and grimy showers with hairballs in the drains.

(Check-out and check-in times are both 10 am, so WHEN are they supposed to clean rooms?)

The rooms didn’t match online photos. Sleeping conditions were not as described: rooms were small and dark, and the family suite was cramped and dirty. We spoke with 2 other guests; one complained of similar issues in one of the Teepees, and the other said they’d expected dirty conditions and came with cleaning supplies to clean the bathroom.

The handicapped room accommodations were terrible and they had to move our handicapped family member to another room after getting the first one wrong, which had several steps and a sunken living room. The second room still had a poor ramp, a step-up doorway, and a tiny bathroom that had no grab bars or shower-seat.

The owner was angry, rude, belligerent, and dismissive the moment we said the word bedbug; he refused to acknowledge it, discuss it, or look at time-stamped and geotagged photos and video. He accused us of lying and attempting to cheat him, and then after a loud argument with me because he was abusive to my wife, told us to leave, telling us he could replace us easily. Not a problem: we gladly left and took our money with us, reversing all charges to the credit cards. We drove 3 hours through beautiful Yellowstone, had a great lunch, and stayed in Montana at a great hotel in Big Sky...with horseback riding.

Beautiful location; sh*t ranch. Vote with your dollar; don’t pay for the privilege of abuse and nonsense from an obnoxious petty owner. ...

Lengthy but worth the read-

OHHH the ol’ Heart 6 Ranch, I’m guessing they call it this because it’s managed to capture the hearts of 6 people throughout its 130+ years of operation. After a long day in Yellowstone we arrived at the ranch and urgently needed to use the facilities. Imagine our surprise when the door to my parents bathroom was locked. Was it a disgruntled ranch-hand hiding out? Did the maid overdose? It ended up just being a locked door but still wildly inconvenient. The Front desk/bar ended up being closed when we went to ask for a key. So save your problems for the morning people! instead of providing any assistance the bartender who was closing up assured us that he would “text someone about it.” Who needs a bathroom anyways, right? 30 minutes of waiting and we decided to walk around and look for a screwdriver ourselves. We found one in a unlocked workshop on the property. Security is taken very seriously here. We ended taking the knob off to unlock the door. (The person supposedly coming to fix the door never showed up throughout the 3 day stay) I recommend bringing your own small cache of hand tools for quick repair. After that encounter it was time for me to check out my room. The first thing I noticed was the door that connects to the adjoining room was only dead bolted on the other side. It would be perfect if your into that whole uninvited midnight visitor kinda thing. When I went to turn on the ceiling fan I was met with a shower of dust in which case I helped the maid out by wiping it with one of the hand towels (See picture) shades in the room were broken providing an unobstructed view of the horses, garbage, and other people of the ranch. Next was the bathroom. It would be cozy if you’re a spider, you wouldn’t even need to build a new web there’s plenty of old ones to utilize. The heater was broken making for brisk mornings. Make sure to warm up in the dirty and stained shower! The single bulb flickering among the cobwebs makes for a calming ambiance. My one star is for the bed and pillows. They were just fine. What wasn’t fine was turning off the lights and immediately hearing my Cheetos bag crunching. I flicked on my flashlight and was greeted by mickey mouse! But instead of trying to lure me and the other children into his underground bunker he was trying to score some of my Cheetos. I put my Cheetos in my pack and crawled back into bed hoping that Mickey wasn’t hungry enough to munch through fabric. When I woke in the morning my family and I made our way to the front desk to address the mouse issue. The response was concerning. We were told that there is an endangered mice species (endangered mice??) that inhabits the area that they aren’t allowed to trap. But fret not the guests are allowed! So they handed us 4 glue traps and sent us on our way. I would suggest bringing a few traps along or asking for them at check in to save time. After setting the traps and spending the day in Yellowstone we returned to find they had been effective. The traps were filled with hair and mouse poop. They were poison glue traps so I’m guessing the rotting body will compliment the lovely scent of mildew and ammonia. All in all I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you dream of getting dysentery like a...

Inside the “hotel,” they left an envelope asking for suggestions on how to improve. They conveniently forgot to provide a pen and paper, so I wrote a review with my mascara and an old news paper I had found. This is what I left in the envelope:||||Side 1-4 is referring to the start of the news paper and the end, for staff to read easier. ||||first paper, written with mascara: “I’m writing this with my mascara. this hotel is scary, pretty view though.” ||||||SIDE 1— (found a pen, and it was from my purse. that says a lot about this already.) idk why i would write a review with no pen OR paper… but i found an old news paper. when i unlocked the door and welcomed myself into my new “humble abode”my first thought was that i accidentally walked into a storage room. turns out it was not accidental, you guys chose to decorate it this way on purpose. YIKES!! i hope you can find your way out of that mindset (or whatever cult you may be trapped in. blink twice if you need help.) well, I guess if you need suggestions on making this place less bleep||||SIDE 2— i would start with providing a pen and paper so people can actually help you. bc you NEED help. then i would add onto your envelop thingy that you’re in need of an interior designer, and ask people to leave their name and number. maybe even a cleaner. you’ve done an excellent job at the exterior, ill give you credit for that. (don’t get too egotistical.) I might suggest going into the haunted hotel business, though. you’d make a better living on that. (wrote something then scribbled it out) nvm, that was too mean. ||||SIDE 3– moving on from that, maybe redo the “kitchen” (the storage room i walked in) or take it out completely. It’s very misleading. I gained a small amount of hope walking further into this establishment but quickly lost it when i took further inspection. every inch of this place is covered in dust and cobb webs. Don’t even look under the bed or at the sheets (the bed is infested with bugs). when a child says “there’s a monster under my bed” i now know where the saying originated from. ||||SIDE 4– now, i don’t expect a luxury spa, i mean, this is a ranch. but id atleast expect some electricity and air conditioning for $200, nearly $300. this place is worth about $50. And btw, you need to replace the light bulb in the bathroom and while you’re at it maybe hire a plumber. The bathroom has yellowing stains all over in it and when you turn on the water it starts to smell like bum hole. I chose not to shower or do any of my bathroom things because it was so gross. I found several bugs in my bed sheets and even more in every corner of and crevice of this “building.” (bc it can’t be labeled as a hotel anymore) there’s a mysterious stain on the carpet, look at you! one step closer to the haunted hotel ||entrepreneurship!! ||||In all seriousness, there was also mice and mice poop in the building as...
