If I was rating just the food at Triangle X, I would give it 3 stars!! The food was not quality or quantity! Breakfast is served at 8:00. Lunch at 1:00, and dinner at 7:00. One night, one of the young girls asked for more salad, and they told her that they didn't have anymore! For breakfast, they served bacon or sausage, eggs, and pancakes or soggy French toast. Orange juice and water on the table. There's a "little " milk on the cereal table. Some yogurt on the cearal table, but ran out quick. Coffee is available right outside the kitchen. Forget getting any fruit!! We only had fruit 1 morning, and it was slim picking to none. A few blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries. People that came in at 8:02 had no fruit at all, and no more was put out! The cearal also ran out! People would take it for snacks because they were hungry! Lunch, we had chili dogs one day with watermelon. The next day, we had chili, mac and cheese mixed together. You have unsweetened tea and water on the tables for drinks. For dinner, we had pasta with red sauce, very little salad, and a dessert. One night, we had beef, carrots, onions, and pasta mixed together. Very little salad, cheese bread, and dessert. Another night, we had BBQ chicken and ribs, potato salad, and spicy beans with dessert. The best meal was the beef tenderloin, mashed potatoes, asparagus, salad, and Huckleberry ice cream. This was the only night we we had enough food! For lunch and dinner, you got served one of the following desserts cookies, pudding, or ice cream, their choice. They put the bowls and platters on the tables when they are empty, that's it! Get a table with only a few people at it, you get more food. Something that was kind of annoying was that people were starting to tilt the chairs up to save the whole table. They would come in 20 minutes early, especially before dinner, and do this. This made it hard for families to sit together. You don't have to dress up for the meals. ||The horseback riding and views I would give 5 stars! The two wranglers we had the most were Lyndis and Marion. They are amazing! They were very knowledgeable about the terrain, and they knew all the 102 horses by name. If anyone had a problem with a horse or wasn't comfortable about something, they were very helpful how to fix it. We went on the Elks Island ride along Snake River. Very beautiful! The views from Ranch overview ride and the South ride up the mountain were incredible! They choose a horse for you that you have all week. They do a morning ride at 9:00 and one at 2:00. Our rides were from 2 to 2 1/2 hours long. You have saddle bags to put stuff in. Make sure you bring water. They provide water bottles in the room that you can refill all the time. Bring sunscreen. We saw Elk, Bison, and even a black bear on our rides. You'll need smooth bottom boots with a heal to ride. The wranglers will also take pictures of you on your horses. ||The cabins are small, clean, and comfortable with chairs on the front porch. Just know there are no keys for your cabin, to lock it when you leave. This was not an issue for us. The view of the tetons from the ranch is beautiful. The staff is very friendly. ||There's a lot of little ground squirrels and chipmunks running around, which...

3 reviews 5.0 star rating 7/17/2017 Completely ignore any bad reviews for Triangle X Ranch. The reviewers must be a generally angry and disgruntled person because I have never had nothing less than a fabulous time and everyone I know and met there feels the same. This was my third time at the ranch and I am coming back next year. Everyone I met at the ranch this past week has been to Triangle X Ranch nothing less than 4 times. Why do we keep coming back? Because it is a magical place. The wranglers are so nice, helpful, patient and fun! My kids and teens love their groups and are so sad when the week comes to an end. The cabins are a giant step above rustic and are comfortable and clean. The food is delicious and fresh, prepared on site from a fabulous chef. Bear in mind this is a dude ranch so you ride horses every day. Yes, you are riding a live animal so at times they can be unpredictable. But I, who am not a big horse lover like my family, have never had an unpleasant experience. The wranglers are skilled and endlessly patient - even with my mediocre horse skills. I always leave with my confidence strengthened and never feel foolish or embarrassed at my less than stellar horsemanship. There are group rides for all skill levels. If you don't love horses, no big deal. The cabins have an enviable and photo worthy view of the Grand Tetons. I love to relax and sit on the porch of my cabin and read or chat with friends and guests. The overall staff are sweet, kind and endlessly helpful and the Turner family, always excellent hosts. We cannot wait for our return...

My new wife, her family, and I, all spent eight days and seven nights at Triangle X Ranch in early June 2012 and absolutely loved our stay. The ranch and the surrounding area is so beautiful. The view of the Grand Tetons in the distance takes your breath away each time you look towards them. Sunsets especially.

During our stay we took full advantage of the horseback riding, float trips, and near by hiking grounds. All of which were a delight. The various levels of horseback riding made us newbies feel very comfortable. The trails taken on all the horse rides were beautiful. The float trip was so much fun. Having the ability to relax and look at your surrounding while floating down the Snake river was sure nice. Finally, only a couple miles drive from the ranch was Jenny Lake. Simply beautiful hiking ground with Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point to conclude the day.

All this active sure made us hungry and the ranch was very accommodating with all meals. The food was marvelous and having family style service at the tables allowed you to share your days adventures with other guests of the ranch. Having breakfast, lunch, and dinner served to you such made it easy to relax and enjoy every moment of the trip.

We all would highly recommend spending some time at Triangle X Ranch. Whether its the mountain views, the food, the horse back riding, or the wonderful service you will sure want to go back soon.

THANKS TRIANGLE X RANCH for a wonderful honeymoon...

Recently did a 4 day pack trip with Triangle X. Overall a great experience but you need to keep in mind you are going to be on horseback, going through lots of elevation change on steep and rocky trails, which can be uncomfortable at times (it is Wyoming terrain)-I really would not recommend this for a novice and being one myself was definitely out of my comfort zone. Food-I was surprised by the variety and food they prepared on the pack trip, with an appetizer, main, and dessert for each dinner Staff-Friendly and helpful, multiple times we offered to give them a hand with something and they kindly declined Location-got to go places in the back country limited people see each year. Accommodations-you are in tents and camping, but they pack in what they need to to make it comfortable. (could use a few more chairs)

This has to be one of the most wonderful places on eartg. I came all the way from Portugal to fulfill my dream of visiting Yellowstone and staying at a dude ranch. After a lot of search I decided on triangle X and i am so glad for the decision. From my lovely and cosy cabin, to the views, the amazing fireplace and good food (glad they cater to vegetarians). But above all, the horses and the wranglers. Beautiful and amazing herd. Safe and sure footed. We had snow and sunny days. Crossed streams and climbed hills. My thanks to the great wranglers that did wonderful job of making sure everyone was safe and having fun! I made memories that will last me forever and hope I can return some day

Hands down best vacation! Everyone was so nice and helpful. Cabins were comfy and you get three wonderful meals a day which was what sold me at the beginning. There are beautiful trails on horseback you wouldn’t see by hiking. You go in small groups and being on those trails let me see tons of wildlife I would not have been able to see otherwise. They do split up kids, teens and adults for riding, which I was nervous at first because we have an 8 year old but it turned out better than I could have imagined. It built her confidence and independence and we still had plenty of family time as well. This is a place that will be hard to beat and we hope to come back.
