I stayed here a couple different times while working in the area. I first stayed in the small cabin on the north side of the park, I was sharing it with another guy so it was cramped but if it’s just one person or a parent and kids it would be fine. Then I moved over to one of the bigger cabins which was really nice and well kept with a great view. Then I moved into town to a motel for a while, after I got tired of that I bought a camper and moved back to the park. They gladly welcomed me back. I set my camper up in December, which isnt a good idea for first time camper owners. They were a lot of help if I ran into any kind of issue. Once it finally warmed up I walked all the trails out in the woods and fished the ponds. I stayed in my camper at the park for 9 months and got to know the people that own it pretty well and I would regularly offer help around the park, and they would offer anything I might be able to use. It’s a nice quiet place with great people as owners and operators. If I’m ever back in the area I will have to go back just to visit. Nestor and Terri are great people and I recommend this...
Read moreWe just spent the weekend in a silo! It was an amazing stay. The room we had was upstairs from the office and it was all we needed and more. I was a little leary about the heat (102° heat index) but the dedicated A/C until kept us comfy. There is also a ceiling fan and an isolating fan to help move the air. We had a full kitchen with a table, a living room with three rocker/recliners, an oversized bathroom, and one of the most comfortable beds to sleep in! We had Wi-Fi and DISH tv provided. There is also an inflatable bed available. The owners are the most friendly and helpful people. They suggested places to dine (Rudi's is awesome!), shop, and visit during our stay. They provided maps which was helpful because Jacksonville has no Verizon service. For those who like the outdoors they have a lake available. They offered fishing gear, life vests, and kayaks. They even have a small store in their office for incidentals and some fun camping items. This weekend was perfect and we...
Read moreStayed from December last year until September. Super friendly family run. Felt like I became adopted by both the staff and other long term professionals-engineers, linemen, and other travel nurses. Was very nice to see how the weekenders were kept separated. When the big freeze came and the water had to be shut off for a week, offered other accommodations. Laundry room, individual shower rooms, and large playground with bicycles, tricycles, balls, basketball and volleyball all located in the center. Two well stocked ponds for fishing, swimming, and canoeing. You can eat what you catch. Each pond has a fish cleaning table with supplies. Two story barn that has been redone for parties on the first floor and large open apartment on the second floor. Next to the dumpster are are large recycling bins and a place for cardboard/paper for fire starter. Firewood available anytime on an honor system. Security cameras and motion detector at entrance. Personal...
