I moved my RV here on a Sunday with the intention of it being long term. I have a 40ft destination trailer that I didn’t think would comfortably fit in the pull through spots, so I opted for a lakeside spot. The woman at the front offered me two spots, I chose one, and we went on our way setting it up. I had people coming from hours away to help me with this, as I do not have a truck or the experience needed to get RV’s up and running. First thing we notice is that the power source wasn’t actually powered, and that we were sold a 30amp spot when I needed a 50amp. No big deal. We went inside of the convenience store at the marina to buy a 50 to 30 amp cord adapter, and they assured me that we could plug into the spot next to us until my power was fixed. We get the trailer level, we load everything in, and my family goes on their way. The next day on Monday, I get a call from Mel at 9am saying that the manager (or whoever calls the shots) said I needed to move because I couldn’t have my trailer plugged in the way we had it with the adapter. Which was crazy because again, they sold the adapter to us, knowing full well what our intentions were. They also said that the extension cord we used (it was specifically for an RV power cord) would cause an issue. I told them that I understood the risks, but that there was no way I could move that trailer. I drive a Kia Forte and everyone that helped me was hours away. It wouldn’t be until Saturday that I couldn’t get them back to town to move it. Mel told me that the manager said if I didn’t move it by Friday, he had every right to just shut my power off. Those were his words (I want to say his name is Micah or Michael) and quite frankly I didn’t appreciate it. I was overwhelmed at the idea of having to do all of this again, and the best the could offer was a spot across the lake that’s crowded, has no shade, and looks kind of like a junk yard. I said no to this, and called my mom. I work at a school and could not leave work, but God blessed me enough to have an amazing family. My mom left work, took her coworker with her who has a truck, went and packed everything back up in my trailer, and they loaded it all back up and moved to Trails End RV Camp (Which I HIGHLY recommend). Who welcomed me with open arms, had EVERY spot shaded, plenty of room in between spots, free ice, better hospitality, and better customer service. LP Resort really needs to get it together. The experience I had was abhorrent, and threatening to cut off my power when I physically (at the time) had no way to move the trailer is just AWFUL. Luckily I was able to find the right people on the right day that could help, but most of the time life doesn’t go that way. I will NEVER be back here. They still had the audacity to charge me for the night after the hassle and stress they put me through. A bunch of money-hungry jerks over here. I’m sure they’ll have something to say about...

We stayed for their NYE celebration. The sign to the office had faded arrows, so we weren't 100% sure where to go. Now that we've been there, it seems obvious but the 1st introduction was confusing. We got a duplex cabin, "lake" view. We got to see the backside of their Marina boatel & the RV park across the inlet (that was a little off putting, but still we liked the water being right there). I think that when you use the term resort, it can be a very subjective term. What is luxurious or a resort to 1 person can very quite differently from another person's interpretation of the term. Just like the * rating on reviews, 3 * means it's okay & 4 * means that you liked it, so when I say I liked it if there was an in-between "it was okay" & "liked it" that's where my true rating would be. SO, this place DOES have amenities it has a shop, sports rentals, a restaurant & bar (no hard liquor by law but they had good alternatives & to keep the resort vibe I would just stay & drink there & not go across the bridge to the liquor store), it has live music sometimes, it even has a food truck that had pretty good bbq outside of it, (though they play their music far too loud for people trying to sleep,) it's also a campground, & a place where you can just rent a room to go fishing (I got the impression from a few of the fishers that they would not eat the fish from this water/the water smells?) The internet is not as strong as what we needed for our purpose but it was nice to unplug for a little bit anyways. Another thing you have to remember is the people owning & running this place, this might be their dream & they're going to be defensive about it if you belittle it. Specifically for the duplex cabin, if you are fat, you will be uncomfortable. Barely able to wipe your hind parts. Shower stall, you are not shaving your legs. Pretty small bed, if you have two fat people, very uncomfortable. But it was clean, as someone who has stayed at many airbnb's & hotels recently, this was a very clean & attractive efficiency. Now to the celebration, this is THE areas place to be when it comes to celebrating. Great food at the restaurant & the food cart. The restaurant had an abridged menu the day of the show & it was still pretty good. Great staff, funny & jovial, helpful. Some of the permanent residents campers seemed a little gruff but their home is being invaded by a surplus of people for a fireworks show so I sort of get it. I'm going to say give this place a chance & if you are feeling tension from the staff I would evaluate how you're airing your opinions or your complaints & see if it would be something you would say to everyone w/the same tone. Because again this might be that areas idea of paradise. I might actually come again, I've already told a few friends that sport fish to...

I surprised my husband with a last-minute weekend getaway! I contacted several different places and the help I received at Lake Palestine resort was amazing from the phone call of asking questions to booking to check in and the weekend itself. We cannot complain. The only reason why we gave the room a three is because it was a little outdated and entering the shower was a little hard because we believe the door is on the wrong side (it is the oldest cabin on the property) however, that would never stop us from coming again and renting the same cabin, which is probably the only cabin we will rent when we’re by ourselves. The location is very clean and well kept. The staff were very polite and accommodating. We definitely want to give a special thank you to the Young guy who helped us check in we did not catch his name because it was pretty loud at the event they were having we understood, a special thanks to Ms. Gwen and a special thanks to your maintenance team, especially Mr. Vincent, he showed us around the facility, including cabin if we decided to bring our children with us adult children that is! The entire staff are outstanding!! Thank you for the amazing relaxing weekend getaway. We...

Having a great time at Lake Palestine resort in Frankston, Texas! That place got rowdy after nightfall. A huge, great crowd and lots of fun.

We had a great stay. Booked 3 cabins on fishing side and 2 tiny homes on beach side. All were as expected. Close enough together that we could send the kids back and forth. Had a good time fishing and the kids loved swimming and the pier on the beach side. Tried the food at the grill, it's alright. Breakfast was better, fried dinner was nothing special. Nice having the general store items there if you don't want to leave, but there is a brookshires and dollar store very close by. Good for families with kids. We will stay again and recommend!

We enjoyed our weekend at Lake Palestine Resort. We had a great spot on the lake and the staff was very nice and helpful. The RV pads could use additional gravel as they are mostly dirt now. The boardwalk was a great feature but hasn't been cleaned in a long time. The store and restaurant were a great feature on the property.
