I'm a truck driver and my company paid for two nights at this hotel. After ten hours driving up here to get to a new location with a new truck, the rooms were quite refreshing and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and there was nothing to bother me during my sleep. The staff was extremely friendly and wonderful.
My only critique is the unusual entrance into the parking lot as well as the unusual location of the main entrance on the other side of the building with no signage indicating it's location. This is useful for food deliveries since I did use dominos and there was a slight issue with delivery because of that. My recommendation is to provide signage on the rear of the building, facing the parking lot entrance, to point customers and deliveries towards the main entrance.
Other than that, I can assure you that this hotel is on the list of places I'd enjoy to stay at again. They have a small bar (unfortunately couldn't enjoy it since I'm a driver) and small food provision area. They also provide breakfast from 0600-0900 in the mornings. I wouldn't call it a top of the line hotel, and there are small quirks to it that are manageable, nothing specific to state just things in used to experiencing, but for the state of the hotel and the extent at which the staff try to provide a good experience? I'd say it's a wonderfully comfortable stay and some place I'd recommend.
If you're coming here expecting butlers or five star service, you're in the wrong place. Several other hotels in the vacinity may provide that. This hotel however is situated out of the way, away from the noise and issues of the main city proper, but also in a good location to get to most of where you want. It's somewhat difficult to find and get to, but that isn't the fault of the hotel, but rather the weird layout of this part of town.
In the end my recommendation remains the same. I'd stay here again. I felt comfortable band welcomed, the staff were professional and courteous. I was given clear instructions to my room and my questions answered professionally. As a truck driver, I would both stay here on the clock and if I was...
Read moreOver all this little hotel was good. It was clean, convenient to where we needed to be and it had a small breakfast. There are really no activities to walk to or no restaurants nearby that you would walk to you so you would need to plan to drive in closer to town to get those amenities.
It might me nice to know that there is a second floor but no elevator. It might be nice to have sleeves for the coffee cups because the coffee was very warm. The rooms were small but adequate. The counters in the bathrooms seemed really high. They have these really annoying video games in the downstairs entryway that make noises all night and kind of confuse you when you walk in the building and the machine is talking. Also there is music playing as well as these video games.
When I called to make a last minute reservation I spoke with a woman who gave me the 60+ rate and told me there would be a $100 charge that would be refunded from my bill. When I got to the hotel they told me I did not have a reservation and maybe I had called somewhere else. I called the number in my phone that I had called earlier and it was answered by the guy I was talking to at the front desk. So finally the front desk said ok let me call someone and see if we can give you a room. And they did have a room available but I forgot to mention the 60+ rate so I probably did not get that. Anyway the $100 was not charged to my credit card. The bill was charged to my credit card but they were only able to give me the receipt for one day because the second day had not been closed out yet so I really have no idea how much I paid for each night in the room. I left my email and they were supposed to email me a receipt but that has not happened. Maybe they need to spend a little more time learning about...
Read moreWe had stayed at the former Jasper Inn before (and vowed to never return) I was disappointed to realize that we had booked a room for two nights in what was left of the Jasper Inn (SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western) At first glance while arriving at night things looked promising. I didn't care for the fact that they didn't have an elevator and the stairs were narrow enough that carrying bags to the 2nd floor was awkward when the door at the top of the stairs opened out toward the stairs. The lobby and hallways were all clean but inside the bathroom is when I realized that I had been fooled. The tile was broken and the lack of quality of the entire renovation was sadly on display. The tub had two handles which were in poor repair and it was clear that the bathroom wall tile had been repainted. Toilet wouldn't flush correctly, etc. The ceiling in our room had evidence of water damage. The real kicker was that our air conditioning did not work properly in our room. The staff was great and moved us to another room, but the AC in that room was inadequate as well. We notified the front desk staff in the AM and they made an attempt to fix it, and it was better the second night but it was still uncomfortable for me. I have this bizzare expectation that if you set the air conditioner at 60F that it should not shut off until it reaches 60F (our shut off while I was still sweating)
One other observation is that the free breakfast is done and being put away by 9AM - seems like an odd time for a hotel that is near holiday world.
I do want to mention that the Hotel staff was polite and very ready to move us to another room if we wanted. It is just too much of a hassle when you finally get into a room to pack up...
