Wa-Ni Chargaon Village Resort — Hotel in Jefferson City

One of the worst case of racism I have encountered. My wife and I just bought a camper. We are from the area and it's beautiful outside so we jumped on the Harley and went and checked on some of our local campgrounds. I'm very familiar with the area so we went to wa ni village we made a circle around the block to look at the other houses that may be for sale around the lake we weren't even on the campground we passed to gentleman on a golf cart. By the time we made the loop around the block those two gentlemen on a golf cart and another Gentleman on the golf cart met us at the entrance of the campground let me remind you again we haven't even been in the campground but they stopped us. They want to know what business we had in the campground and why we were here. They had no right to stop us for any reason we never made it past the front entrance of the campground they were standing in the road as we were coming through. I don't know whether it was because my Harley is black or I was black maybe it was because my wife is white. Racism is still exist and this Campground is probably one of the most racist I've ever been to since we've been looking they've blocked I just want to let everybody know if you are of color stay away...

My wife and I just purchased a camper. We have been going to the campgrounds in our area to get rates and availability. We rode out to wa ni village.. I am familiar with the area. I used to install install cable there. So I made a left turn off of Lakeshore Road driving past the campground which is on my right to go around the circle to see if there were any homes for sale. We passed a guy on a golf cart making the circle as we completed our Loop and made it back to the entrance of the campground the two guys in the golf cart and one other guy on a golf cart stopped us wanted to know what business we had on the campground even though we had never entered the campground. They started questioning us for no reason whatsoever. There are no no trespassing signs there are no private property signs. I don't know whether they stopped us because my Harley was black or I was black or my wife was white I don't know why the reason they stopped us. I tried reaching out to them...

This is a campground for more permanent set-up of campers. No overnight sites |available. Managers and other camping residents watch out for fellow campers and|their campsites. We enjoy our time there and have only had friendly relations with |other people there, management and campers alike.
