We stayed in this park on 08/02/2014. I can appreciate new owners and I would most certainly allow them a little time to get things straight, but the fundamentals should be right from day one and they are most certainly missing in this park. If I am being charged $32.50 a night for an RV Spot I expect it to be right. What I got for my $32.50 was shoved into a little corner next to a huge tree that I had to back up against so far to hook up to power and water that I could not even put my awning out (Site #S1).
I had to share a power post with the RV Site next to mine (#S2) and there was only 1 30 amp Plug-in inside the box. Because the other guest was there fist he got the 30 amp outlet and I was relegated to the 15 amp standard circuit on which I could not even run my AC unit without tripping the Breaker. It was really hot so this made the power situation that much worse. Not to mention that I literally had to run my power cord and water line across my neighbors site to reach the post.
Then I was informed that there were no sewer hookups....Seriously? So then we decided that we would go take a dip in this big hot springs pool to try and cool off only to find out that we get charged $8 per person per day to use the pool. What? I should mention that $8 is the "discounted" rate that we get because we are guests there, anyone else has to pay $10. I should also mention that this rate applies to any guests be they Tent or RV, so for those of you paying twice as much for your RV Spot with "hookups" you can expect to pay the same amount for a dip as the folks over across the road that paid half what you did to stay there.
So to Summarize: I got charged $32.50 for an RV Site that I did not get a 30 amp Power hook-up, had no sewer hook-up at which I had to drag my hose across the neighbors campsite to get to while having to back up so far into the site to just reach the required items I could not even put out my RV's awning because I was against the tree, so I had to set up an Ez-Up (Thank goodness I carry one). I basically got to park my RV in a tent site with water and std. power. Did I mention that that RV sites do not even have Fire Rings? You can not even have a campfire in your site..... Then on top of all of that I have to pay $8 per Person per day PLUS TAX to take a dip in the nice warm pool. (I will say the the pool was wonderful. Very Large, Clean, Warm and Relaxing) I will not even get into the poor upkeep of this facility or any of the other issues I saw.
We were so uncomfortable that we were up at 4 am (resetting the breaker again) waiting for dawn to crack so that we could break down and leave. I sincerely hope that the folks at Banbury Hot Springs enjoy the $56.88 of my money they got because they will certainly not be...
Read moreWent back again this past weekend- pool didnt have any moss in it this time looks like that was addressed. Temp was still WAY too cold - its warm enough for kids who are jumping around and playing but uncomfortable for everyone else. It's a hot springs it needs to be warmer. Very disappointed at the state of the pool - I know banburys is VERY old but it requires constant maintenance and attention. There was moss all over the pool today, rotting wood in the window sill by the women's dressing rooms. The steps going into the pool by the women's dressing rooms are chipped and hazardous. A middle aged woman slipped on them and fell and literally bounced down the stairs on her butt. There are not enough dressing rooms and the curtains for bathroom and dressing rooms are terrible for privacy children are constantly pulling on them and looking underneath. I worked at banburys for 5 years in the 2000s and cannot believe how much its gone downhill. Every time I come it looks worse. There was hardly any parking left today as well. too much cold water running in there it makes it freezing in some spots and then just warm in other. There was an event going on this weekend with 450 people that is ridiculous you dont have the space or parking to accommodate that many people. Im glad we got there when we did because otherwise there would have been NO parking. When we left people were parking way up by the upper campground. Again a tremendous disappointment will definitely not...
Read moreWe happened upon Banbury about 2 weeks before bringing a large youth group from Utah. Enoch was so nice and so accomidating. He really hooked us up and elevated our entire camp experience. After seeing what Banbury had to offer, we changed all our plans just 2 weeks before coming so we could camp and kayak there. We are SO glad we did. It worked out incredibly well for our group. They have a large shaded, grassy camping area. It was perfect for our group of 30. It was tucked into the corner of the property so we had privacy and comfort. There was also plenty of parking for all our vehicles and trailer. We especially loved the yellow butterflies that joined us throughout the week. The staff was so helpful and so patient with us as we navigated our group of youth, particularly on when getting us set up to go kayaking. They equipped us with enough tandem kayaks for our whole group - which was awesome since we had so many beginners. It worked out amazingly well for us. We were able to take our entire group to Blue Heart and had a blast. The camp host, the office staff, the gal cleaning the bath house each morning were all so positive, helpful, and kind. They really looked out for us and made us feel welcomed and cared for. Thank you Banbury for making our camp such a...
