June 2024 Visit:
It is our second go to Hicksville during Family Week.
The staff is so kind and easy going, it really helps a mom relax. Whenever we are out on vacation, moms can be sensitive to eye rolls or quiet judgement over her kids. Moreso, what will happen when the kids notice the eye rolls and quiet judgement.
The staff is so non judgemental and totally committed to your comfort during the stay, it really earned my loyalty.
My kids swam in the pool and ball pit most of the time. Those who have lived in the high desert understand the fairy dust sleepiness that can overtake you. It is a healing and magical place.
I didn't realize the Noah Purifoy exhibit was down the road. Check it out.
Hearts. We want to make this our yearly go to. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Dec 2023 Visit:
I know everyone thinks they are clever for writing a review based on the Heard and Depp trial. It is really stale, let's talk about what a great place this is on its own merit:
I am not a Christmas mommy in the traditional sense. I have to co-parent with someone I don't like but my kids like him and love their nana.
It was family week (one week a season), so my kids and I stayed in the Peewee trailer for a couple days before I had to submit to archaic traditions.
We had so much fun. I mean, we were over the moon. It rained, we didn't care.
The ball pit. My kids spent 3-4 hours a day in the ball pit. Likely more.
Rooftop Jacuzzi under the stars
Classic Rock Free juke box
Donuts, sugar cereal and 90210 on DVD in the clubhouse
Mini Golf
Ping Pong
BB gun and archery range
TeePee for S'mores
DoorDash delivers (you only have Mexican or pizza to choose from though)
Food storage is a little tricky with my little grazers but because it was empty, we didn't have to worry about using the swing table too much.
The customer service is above and beyond. It is so shocking when you find excellent customer service, you really learn to appreciate it.
Disney is even dipping in their standard of customer service. Hicksville and Santa's Village are the Pinnacle of customer service this year.
Bravo. And...
Read moreThe experience while there was really great. Excellent attendant who was kind and helpful. After leaving, we were hit with a $200 damages charge for smoking in the unit. We are non-smokers so we called to figure out what this was about. When we reached out politely, the person on the phone mentioned the cigarette smell and said that "Maybe if you weren't a smoker you'd smell it too". I explained to the person that on our way out, I did in fact use the dustpan to clean the front patio and there were some old cigarette butts on the ground which were thrown away. I disposed of the 3-4 old butts with the rest of the trash I swept up in the garbage bin. They laughed at us, were extremely rude to us, and accused us of lying. This was probably the rudest conversation I have ever had with an employee anywhere, especially while apologizing for putting the outside trash in the inside bin and not walking it across the whole trailer park to find a different trash can. The Skipper itself was pretty cute over all(although it does not sleep 4 unless three want to cuddle in one bed), we had fun, and the attendant was lovely so I rate all that high. The people answering the calls need to learn how to interface with the public. Ruined our...
Read moreIncredible experience - grateful for the kind host (I forgot her name, DOH!) and attention to detail here.
Clean towels, clean & VERY COZY beds, excellent layout, great vibes! I REALLY appreciated the 21+ aspect, having just come from a family oriented resort, there was no way we were getting in the pool 😂 💦 It made US feel like kids again, in a whole different world.
We rented The Pioneer, Fifi, Integratrailor and Lux. Our only minor complaint was in the integratrailor there was a lot of metallic squeaking at night.
Be sure to pack plenty to grill/cook over a flame. There isn’t a lot of food near the property - so before you’re tempted to drive after having “a few” think ahead.
A few of the BB guns were broken, the darts all had broken tips, and many of the arrows had damaged flights.. no biggie ☺️
We had an incredible time and look forward to coming back.
That being said, if you are used to or expecting posh accommodations this place isn’t for you.
Please be respectful of the host, I saw some other guests that weren’t exactly acting in the most respectful manner. (Their dogs were left to roam all over and they didn’t pick up after them)
I’ll be back (if you’ll have us) and this time stay more than...
