What a special place! My friends and I stayed in the “Bike Haus” cabin for a moms’ night out getaway, and it was perfect. As soon as I drove onto the property, I could tell it was going to be a place that a lot of thought and care had gone into. Walking up to the private deck and into the cabin, it’s honestly impressive just how lovely each detail is. It even had beautiful mood lighting set for us and a clean, woodsy scent in the air. The cabin itself is surprisingly larger inside than it looks, and is spotless and decorated with a cozy modern mountain vibe and little details to go along with the fun “bike” theme of the cabin. It had 2 bedrooms that each had a soft, cushy queen bed with a table and chair, a small bathroom with toilet, sink, and shower, and a living/kitchen combo with a sofa, a full-sized refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave and even a washer and dryer. The kitchen was stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, coffee maker, spices, and more. Everything looks brand new and immaculate. There is a bar/counter with stools and large windows overlooking the private deck and forest/mountain view. We spent the evening around the large community fire pit, which kept us warm while we chatted for hours in the cool mountain air. In the morning, our first peek out the windows with the beautiful sunrise drew us outside with our coffee and blankets to relax on the Adirondack-style chairs around a smaller fire pit on the privacy of our own deck. We eventually wandered down to the “island” via a short trail lit by string lights, and it’s like you’re entering a magical fairy land. There are a few natural seating areas around a cozy clearing in the trees where you feel like you’re walking on a cushy blanket of tiny pine needles. There are a couple of bridges over the spring and creek that you can walk across, and the sound of the water flowing is just so peaceful. I wish I’d had more time to spend there. It just felt good for the soul. I would love to come back for a romantic getaway, and also with our kids sometime because they would absolutely love it here too. A picnic on the “island” is now on my bucket list! Thanks to Julie and George for welcoming us into their perfect little...

Read moreOur stay at the Blacktail Cabins was an absolute delight and the perfect setting for a memorable 40th birthday getaway. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the thoughtful and sweet surprise that the owners left for us in the Fish Haus—a gesture that made us feel so welcome.
The cabin itself was impeccably clean, and the beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring we had restful nights. The full kitchen was a wonderful feature, allowing us to prepare a special home-cooked birthday dinner, which we enjoyed under the stars around the fire in the SoloStove on the private patio just outside our door.
Though the cabins appear close together in photos, the thoughtful layout ensures an abundance of privacy. The strategic arrangement of the cabins means that no other patios are visible from your cabin’s view, allowing for the perfect amount of solitude that we cherish during our getaways.
We also took full advantage of the amenities provided—playing a fun board game from the cabin’s collection, relaxing in the sauna, and cooling off with a refreshing dip in the cold plunge pool. Every detail of the cabin, from the cozy interiors to the outdoor comforts, contributed to a peaceful, rejuvenating escape.
Thank you to the owners for creating such a perfect little retreat to celebrate the big 4-0! It was everything we hoped for and more—a truly...
