Overall, this resort falls short in several areas.
The Good: The hotel itself is beautiful and newly built, with stylish decor. Our room was wonderful—comfortable bed, super soft pillows, and a nice TV with plenty of channels. We stayed on the first floor with a patio, which was great because we could walk straight out to the pool. I highly recommend these rooms if you like easy access or have teenagers.
The outdoor bar was spacious and quick with service. There were plenty of TVs for watching games, and the staff was attentive. They even brought drinks to us while we were in the pool, which was a nice touch.
Joe’s Merchant Shop had good breakfast sandwiches and decent coffee. It was a more affordable and kid-friendly option, though it closed early.
The Okay: The game room was just average. There weren’t many games, and my kids spent $40 in under 20 minutes. The ticketed games weren’t worth it—most prizes required at least 100 tickets and were things you’d find in a 25-cent machine.
The restaurant was open and inviting, but the food was overpriced. For example, chips with salsa and guacamole cost $12.
The Bad: The pools were much smaller than the pictures made them look. The indoor pool and ninja course were also tiny. The climbing wall was better suited for younger kids. If you’re hoping to let older kids or teens have fun while you relax, this isn’t the place. There just wasn’t enough to keep them entertained, especially for the price.
Day passes might be causing overcrowding. I saw many people without wristbands, likely just there for the day. This made the pool area packed during peak hours.
There was no supervision at the pools. Kids were jumping off slippery tile tables in the indoor pool and even trying to leap from one to another. In the main pool, kids were jumping off a fountain into shallow water—only 1–2 feet deep. That’s a serious safety risk.
On Saturday night, a group rented the middle pool area and drank heavily for over six hours. Staff kept serving them alcohol even though they were clearly drunk and didn’t have wristbands. I was worried they might drive home. The staff should have stopped serving them once it was obvious they were intoxicated.
Final Thoughts: This resort has potential, but it needs improvement. Lower the prices, limit day passes, and enforce pool safety. Also, stop serving alcohol to visibly drunk guests.
Despite the issues, some staff members were outstanding:
• Bri in the gift shop was amazing—friendly, kind, and engaging. She told us about the chocolates used in The Hunger Games and checked in with us every day. • The valet working around 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday (8/8 & 8/9) was great. He gave helpful recommendations and remembered us both nights. • Grace, our poolside server, was attentive and kind. She made sure we had everything we needed.
They all gave excellent customer service. Please recognize them—and maybe reward them with some Hunger...
Read moreStayed 2 nights and the place is new, airy and clean. Lots of amenities. Rooms are nice but very thin walls...Internet service/ when in the room, was 50% terrible signal or service- channels wouldn't load- not that we went to watch TV but... Considering it is a resort type place, I get the high prices to some degree, but youd hope to get the quality along with it. Now, Speaking on the restaurant within, it looks awesome however the prices do not match the quality of the food you get, very bland, and doesnt taste fresh. 18 bucks for a cheese steak they claim is "Amoroso" rolls, ( definitely not unless they keep them frozen and ruined the texture) I was actually excited to have an actual Amoroso roll! Im from Philly and have prepared thousands of sandwiches with them They most certainly are not, (confirmed) and my wife and I had the worst stomach after eating there. I asked the waitress if they actually have Amoroso rolls and she responded saying "well I dont know what they mean by " catch of the day either" being that clearly its not fresh seafood. Either the Pool bar, (1 drink each) or the food gave us both the ( pardon the info) worst diarrhea all night and we are still ( two days later) recovering from. The menu didn't appear to have much worth the prices and Considering all, I dont feel the money was worth the trip. However we did have fun on our own, and might bring the kids to at least locally enjoy the pool and game room and surrounding area kids will love,I am a stickler for food, (veteran cook) that isnt prepared to match the prices. They went above and beyond but appear to be lacking- In my opinion- EAT ELSEWHERE! You can get a good steak meal right down the road for the same price and know what you are getting. We couldnt really enjoy the 2nd night as we would have liked because we weren't able enjoy the pool Saturday evening with how bad our stomachs were. Its not actually the right environment for these kinds of prices but make sure you leave a good review for the staff to get them pineapple pins... Question, do they pre cook the steaks? Have seasoning? The beef was tough and not chopped enough, tasteless and the roll was junk. Amoroso rolls do not get soggy- or even have that texture. We ordered and as soon as the waitress came back within a few minutes the food was already out- perhaps the hot queso was supposed to heat up the meat? Perhaps it was being the 1st thing we did left a bad taste in my mouth. Nickel and Dimes you for resort fee already and for what exactly? Also please tell the young bald headed lady at the coffee joint to not stick her face in people's cups when preparing them- SUSPECT! I threw my cup out rather than asked for another but nothing requires a sniff test where you literally stick your nose in the...
Read moreA disappointing experience from start to finish. Let’s start with what was good, the beds are very comfortable. That’s it. Room wasn’t ready until a hour after check-in time which they compensated with a coupon for a soda. Then they never brought the luggage cart, they brought a fan and we asked for the cart - 40 minutes later still didn’t have it, called the front desk and after another 25-30 minutes I went down and got the items myself. Lady at the desk was huffy when she heard what I was down there for. Yes, a major inconvenience for you to bring the items that we only had to store because the room wasn’t ready. Four people were standing around at the desk at this time. The bar food leaves a lot to be desired, worst nachos in existence. They had given us breakfast coupons at some point, and that breakfast should always be free. It’s extremely mediocre at best. And you can't find the menus online anywhere, or in the rooms so you have to go to the places to see what options are available. The wait staff at the pool ignores some people and only waits on who they deem worthy. They also charge an absolutely bogus resort fee as they don’t act as a resort, with terrible service, unclean areas, and there isn't even room service. They list pool towels as one of the reasons for the fee… even the Days Inn gives you freaking pool towels! The majority of the items covered under the fee come standard at your average hotel. The bathroom design is atrocious, it’s impossible to wash your hands without water going all over the back of the sink, and the shower door has such large gaps the bathroom constantly just has water everywhere. There was water damage under the sink and it has only been open a month, I can't imagine the amount of mold in the rooms long term. Our room was also already missing the number to indicate which room it is. Half the arcade games were marked with out of order signs, a few that didn't have signs took points off your card and still didn't work. Everything closes extremely early, most things by 9. There was the same candy pieces and lollipop sticks on the hallway floor the entire three days we stayed there. And the final straw was fully closing the outdoor pool for our last day there with no inclement weather in the area. Upon check-out we also discovered the $50 off the room the huffy lady was supposed to handle wasn’t applied correctly. It would be one thing if this was marketed as a hotel and charged hotel prices, but to claim to be a resort with expensive rooms and a ridiculous resort fee - I wouldn’t even recommend this place to...
