Our group of skaters and cyclists loved our stay at Bear Creek Cabins! The property is remotely located, but has easy access to the CDA rail trail for skating and bike riding, or rivers for fishing. Remote equates to quiet, serene views, and peaceful morning coffee time with friends, birdies, squirrels, or an occasional rabbit. The views are amazing. Upon arrival, we found the property was nice, clean, well presented. The host Miriam, was super-helpful, always available, and provided us prompt detailed information to our questions before and during our stay. We were 13 adult guests, mostly over 50 y/o, and the sleeping arrangements are a bit tight for older adults, but we did fine for our short stay. Bunks are better suited for kiddos or younger adults. The main indoor Living room space is a little tight for 13 adults. But, the outdoor living space is nice and open, and we lucked out on weather so spent most of our afternoon & evening gathering time there. The outdoor kitchen is great. Wifi works great up there. Coming to ID for 20 something years, we know Wifi can be spotty in that area. Driving up the steep one-lane drive can be challenging if there are other vehicles driving down. The rule of driving is upon meeting a car on a one way steep road, the uphill car backs up to a pull-out. We got stuck having to back down(scary) upon encountering a pickup truck coming down as we drove up. They made no effort to move, or signal they’d back up. This does not reflect on the owners, however, some posted signage at the base of the drive about this for the benefit of their guests, as well as other property owners/drivers sharing that roadway, might be helpful. Those in our group made point to text each other if we were driving up/down to avoid car encounter issues. Some small things we’d suggest for the owners: Perhaps add an outdoor solar shower. There are 2 showers on the property, and 4 toilets, as per the description. Supply small plastic glasses(for juice/wine). Wine glasses were on the list, but we never found any. Otherwise, the kitchen appliances, dishes, serving & cooking utensils, pots &pans assortment are very well stocked. Another post mentioned the outdoor oven had some issues, and I agree it did not seem to get to temperature for cooking, but it's okay for reheating or using low temperatures. The place is supplied by well water, as we were aware ahead of time, but there can be sediment in the drinking water even with using the britta water pitchers provided. We supplied most of our own drinking water. A secondary filtration at the kitchen sink for drinking water might be a nice addition, as the britta’s got depleted rather quickly. Another review mentioned bees – they can get pesky when serving food/meals outdoors. We kept outside food covered during meals. I recently read peppermint oil deters the food bees. I'll use that tip at my own home, too. Overall, our group really enjoyed out stay at the property. We loved sitting around the fit pit in evening swapping stories, eating smores, and trying to guess which satellite was orbiting by overhead. Thanks again to the host for being available to us, whenever needed, and for making our stay pleasant and memorable. Kimberly Kraan owner, skateNOW, llc

Cant say enough good things about this place. The views are amazing. Host is very accommodating and takes great care of the property. Truly a wonderful, worthwhile experience. We were here for work, and it made work feel like a vacation. The appliances we used were all in clean, good working order. Google maps provides good directions right to it. Make sure you heed the speed limits and one way road precautions around curves outlined by the hosts. Going down from the cabin, put your vehicle in the lowest gear possible and turn on tow-haul mode of you have it and you’ll quickly realize the road is good if you are doing the speed limit. The host does say this, I just emphasize the importance. Hope to be back!

Our group of 8 adults coming from 5 separate states decided to pull together a mini-reunion with very little time to spare. Orienting myself to the chosen area using Google maps, Bear Creek Cabins popped up. Intrigued I clicked on the link and was amazed at all that this site offered. Knowing the preferences of the various members of our group (hiking, biking, basking in beauty, opportunity to hang out together, playing games, roasting s'mores, quiet and privacy, proximity to tourist areas, dog friendly...) I immediately hoped this place could work for us as it has so much more to offer than the other choices I had already found using other approaches. I mistakenly assumed that each cabin was a stand alone unit and contacted Miriam to gain more information. When I learned that the entire property was rented out at a time I expected that it would be far too much for us to afford. It turned out however that with the base rate for 4 people and a reasonable additional rate for any extra persons this actually turned out to be a great deal. The experience we had at Bear Creek Cabins was without a doubt superior to what we would have had at any of the other places I was considering. I truly think it was a providential find. The only thing that would have improved our visit would have been...
