We have stayed in over 40 WorldMark resorts across the U.S and one in Fiji, and this is the first time we have had a bad experience with customer service. The resort is beautiful and the amenities are excellent but the service provided was lacking and the failure to take care and handle our issue with such carelessness was the main reason why I am rating it a one star. My family has spent thousands of dollars in WorldMark resorts and as owners and investors we aré extremely mad at the way the front desk completely ignored our request and was completely inattentive. We checked in today Friday to celebrate our 14 year marriage anniversary with our children and upon our booking almost a month ago we had made sure we called in to request a 2 or 3 bedroom presidential suite as it is our custom to book it whenever we travel. Well we were assured our suite would be available upon arrival, this conversation took place 3 weeks ago. Then 4 days ago prior to our arrival, we received a call from Landis, who was calling to check our arrival time for today our checking day, I told her the requests we had made 3 weeks ago and how we were assured that the suite will be available for us, and at first she had told us she couldn’t make any guarantees but then left me on hold to “check” and went ahead and emphasized that “more than likely” it will be available and that she WILL make it happen. Long story short we arrived today, we checked in, I mentioned our room accommodations and the front desk lady said she saw some notes but nothing was done towards our request. Then she went ahead and ask Landis who was right next to her about the conversation I had with her and she completely IGNORED us, told the person that was checking us in “ I never guaranteed her anything” in a rude and dismissive way and went about her day without even acknowledging us and completely ignored us. I requested to get this escalated but clearly I was ignored and we went ahead and proceeded to check in, I didn’t want to cause a seen as the lady checking us in was not at fault and was unaware of our specific situation. We ended up getting a room in building 14 in the first floor. The bathrooms were dirty, the rug was not vacuum and the small balcony/patio area was FULL of stray cats. We can overlook the cat situation BUT the dirty bathrooms are completely unacceptable! We are disappointed and dissatisfied with this experience and this completely put an unpleasantness in our stay. I would of gave this resort a 5 star review because of the location, the beautiful scenery and the amenities BUT because of the lack of support from customer service I strongly feel this deserves a one...
Read moreThe best part of this trip was being with my family, as far as this location, we felt very disappointed. First of all, the pictures show only the best features of this resort and don't really paint an accurate picture of some of the buildings/rooms/views. We were put on a 2nd floor and there are NO ELEVATORS, my mistake for not checking. My mom is 81 and is partially handicapped, they moved us fairly quickly to the first floor, so this turned out fine. The decor is 1970/modern/western?? felt very dated and confusing. We had a balcony/patio that overlooked dirt/rocks/bushes. NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES ONLINE. Due to Covid-19 restrictions (not entirely the resorts fault) we could only use the pool for 2 hours, one of the 3 days we were there by reservation only. No pool tables or swings or common areas or hot tub or hiking trails, or fitness room, Guadalupe is more than "steps away", none of the amenities that helped us chose this place for our vacation. There are buildings on the property that look like they have an amazing view of the hill country and they might make this property worth visiting but if you are in building 15 or 16, you will be VERY DISAPPOINTED. Trish, the employee at the pool was extremely nice and took great care of us the 2 hours we were allowed to visit the pool in our 3 day stay. THE POOL IS THE BEST THING this place has to offer but again, unfortunately due to covid-19 the resort decided to close it each day at 5:00 instead of 10:00 (not sure how this helped) and only allow guest 2 hours a day, but check in time was 4:00 on day one, so we weren't allowed to use it the day we arrived. If I were traveling to Kerrville for a purpose and needed a place to stay, I would be fine staying here as a hotel accommodation but I would never chose this "resort" as a vacation destination. This review is not meant to bash the resort, even if it sounds like it, it is very eye appealing on the outside, it is in the beautiful hill country, employees are doing a good job etc. My main purpose for writing this review is just wanting to let anyone looking for a vacation destination for their family, that this may not be what you are looking for, I wish I had read this review...
Read moreWas looking for a place not too far from Jacksonville, FL where we can fly our 6 month old daughter and at the same time I can unplug from work that has limited to no cell phone service - FOUND IT!!
We've traveled to many of our own Worldmark resorts, but this has definitely been the most remote location that we've visited thus far. Smack dab in the middle of Texas, Hunt is right next to the town of Kerrville which is definitely a much bigger town that even has a miniature mall.
Main attraction in the entire area is Guadalupe River - really neat if you have a kayak or a little canoe. For us with a little baby, it was nice to look at and observe the nature.
As a Worldmark owner, the unit was awesome! Probably the most character we've seen out of all the Worldmark resorts we've stayed at. We had a Presidential 1 bedroom suite with a spectacular view of the forest valley. Again, my intention was to completely unplug from work, go for dawn walks with nature, and reconnect with my Savior and Creator away from the hustle and bustle of my corporate executive life. I also wanted to spend some quality QUIET time with my 6 month old daughter and anniversary with my wifey of 6 years.
The closest grocery shopping is about 15/20 mins away at the local H.E.B. grocery store. Make sure to stock up, since the drive to and fro is not the shortest.
1 br Presidential unit is VERY clean and accommodating. Stainless steal appliances, floor plan very well laid out. Washer/drier and fully furnished kitchen like we're accustomed to as Worldmark owners. Balcony has spectacular view of Hunt valley (see attached photos). You can definitely tell that this property is new to the Worldmark family as there is very limited units and clientele as well as units still under construction, giving it that very remote feel - which I was looking for in this vacation. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.
Overall, breathtaking view, off the beaten path "in the middle of nowhere'sville", just a place to unwind and recharge. Well done Worldmark/Wyndham...
