VERY DISHONEST HOTEL!!!

I was super excited to stay here after booking over a month and a half in advance but if I could go back I definitely think I could have found something better.

The property is very nice and clean and the small hotel offers a quieter experience. I was able to enjoy peaceful mornings and a beautiful view however you’re not on the right side to catch the sunset visibly. I stayed a week and requested housekeeping. All I got was towels and a new roll of toilet paper. I didn’t ever get fresh sheets once the entire week.

When I arrived the bedding in the room was incomplete (later come to find it was because the housekeeper knew the bed was broken) - so unsure if the room was ready or not I asked the front office: They checked and assured me everything was fine. I left my things and headed out for dinner. When I arrived back and went to lay down I noticed the BED WAS BROKEN!! (Probably why the bedding was incomplete: housekeeping noticed, but obviously didn’t communicate that to fix the issue before my arrival. Since the office was closed I consulted with the lady at the front desk the next morning after she arrived 45min late with a Starbucks in hand.

After having to sleep on a broken bed for 1 night I brought the issue to the office. After having to wait half the day for an answer from the maintenance man only to find out that not only can they not fix the bed that they DO NOT have an equivalent room for me and then I can either leave and they can kindly refund me my entire stay (then I would be left finding another hotel last minute) , They could downgrade my room with no discount, or they can REFUND me for the days that I had to sleep on a broken bed and I can wait to have it fixed. This all came from the mouth of the lady in the office.

I chose to stay and be refunded the 2 nights we had to sleep on a broken bed. I did not want a room without a kitchen and I didn’t want to scramble last minute on vacation to find another hotel when I booked so far in advance.

After returning home I contacted booking.com as directed from the hotel to receive the refund. Here’s where it takes a turn.

Booking.com said I needed to contact the hotel directly and work it out. I contact hotel. Hotel states they NEVER said they were going to REFUND me. That they would DISCOUNT me!! I would get $24.99 back total for a $100/night room. Completely swindled me!

I recontact Booking.com They tell me they’ll send an email. If they don’t respond they will refund me. They gave 24hrs.

I call Booking.com They tell me the same thing. (As if they never sent an email before) They’ll send an email. If they do not respond that I can contact them and we can handle the matter further. And they will try to compensate me for the inconvenience.(No amount stated) They now have 72hrs.

I call booking.com again. They tell me they’ll send … YOU GUESSED it.. send an EMAIL! They said they have 5 DAYS TO RESPOND!!

2 days go by and I get an email stating Booking.com refunded me 24.99 the exact price at the Hotel originally quoted me for.

For me it’s not about the money but the dishonesty of these businesses and corporations.

Please if anything is wrong.. get it IMMEDIATELY fixed or get a full refund RIGHT THERE!

I’m so disappointed. I really wanted this to be a great stay but I’m...

Booked a few rooms for my family for the Thanksgiving holiday. Check in was quick and easy and they even had one of my rooms ready early! One of the rooms we booked was their ocean view room (when we called they said it was their biggest room, sleeping 6) and there was quite a few of us so of course we booked it! It was beautiful and they even provided extra blankets / sheets for the pull out sofa. The only con was this other group who booked. First they came up to our table and started moving our items ( could have asked nicely but after seeing the way they treated the staff and property, I'm not surprised. ) Next my family witnessed their kids causing pure chaos; leaving the complimentary items in the water to float away, ripping lights out the ground, and even tossing trash on the ground when they were done with whatever it was. Purely disrespectful. The office closed at 5PM that day so the staff could enjoy their holiday (as they should), but the group with the disrespectful kids weren't having it. They moved the sign that CLEARLY stated no vehicles on the beach and continued to bring their vehicle (it even says it on the paper we signed people, it's not that hard to respect what's not yours!) I see here a recent comment what I presume to be one of the people from that group and reading it I call complete bull. They were in the rooms by mine and from talking to the employees I know for a fact those rooms only sleep 3. I heard and watched them fuss over extra blankets for the EXTRA guests they had in their room and completely blame the staff for not being prepared. Next morning when we woke up we discovered they left not only a mess on their table but threw their food and cans all around the property. The best day by far was the day they left. As soon as they were gone the maintenance man was able to get the beach back to looking beautiful. The poor housekeepers though, I'd hate to see what those peoples rooms looked like after seeing how they basically live. I'd like to thank the staff for taking care of us and apologize on behalf of the other family. Hopefully one day they will learn and teach their kids how to respect those around them and property that isn't theirs (poor kids, probably never will with the way their parents acted.) I look forward to...

What a nightmare!!! We check in for a 3 day weekend at the drift. At the front desk, the lady tells us only 1 car per room and hands us the decal....even though that isnt even the policy on their website or the email confirmation. 2days later i notice my car isnt there and i see a tow truck towing another car. The couple was screaming at the tow truck that they are registered guests and they still took their car. I go to the office to find out that my car was towed away too. When i ask why was it towed the front desk states that they called the towing company because there was too many people there. I tell her that i dont check out until the following day and she says theres nothing she can do!!! I had the decal on my dashboard and they towed my car away! Un freakin believeable!!! So since i have no car, i have to get an uber to the tow yard only to find that there was noone there. We call the number and no answer. After waiting for an hour in the hot sun, i get another uber back to hotel hell. At this point our vacation is ruined. The tow people finally call us back a few hours later and tell me that they are closed and dont open until tomorrow. Great. So the next day we uber again when they open and they dont release our car until we pay $350!!! I call the hotel and tell them that they had my car towed unlawfully and they tell me that they cant do anything, that i have to pay the $350. So i end up paying $350, 3 uber trips and i had to book another hotel that night because i wasnt going to go back to that piece of ?($!?, hotel. What a horrrrrrrible experience. Not even an apology or even acknowledge that they had their own guests towed away. And we werent the only ones. Stay here if you want to pay $350 for parking. And after all that, i forgot for a brief moment that the room smelled like...

This place was rodent infested! We had a whole week reserved at the Drift Inn to enjoy the Key Largo area but had to pack it up at 5am after only one night due to a rat that was helping itself to our sandwich bread while we were sleeping! We called the manager who told us she would not be in the office until 8am but we were not leaving the premises until we had our money returned. (She refused to fully reimburse us for the first night and charged us 50% ). While we waited in the car for her we witnessed the groundskeeper spreading peanuts all over the ground feeding dozens & dozens of squirrels that seemed to come out of nowhere, it was apparent he made a habit of feeding the wildlife every morning and when I told the manager that the peanuts are attracting the other rodents she dismissed it. We felt it was not only creepy being surrounded with all these squirrels in the huge trees in front of the office & our room but also a severe health hazard. The squirrels got very aggressive and were even on our car when we were ready to leave. And if that wasn’t enough, the walls are paper thin and we heard every word the couple next door were saying, even his snoring!!! Ugh! worse night we ever experienced and we travel every winter all over Florida. Sorry I had to leave this negative review but felt it was our responsibility to alert other travelers especially young families with children.

Our recent stay here was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with warmth and professionalism, setting the tone for a truly memorable experience. The hotel itself has a plethora of amenities designed to cater to every need. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and perfect for our family of 4. What truly set this stay apart, however, was the exemplary service provided by the hotel staff, led by the remarkable manager, Eric. Eric's dedication to guest satisfaction was evident in every interaction. He greeted us personally upon check-in and ensured that every aspect of our stay was perfect. My youngest, Max bonded with him due to the silliest moment when my kid snuck a pen and drew abs on his belly. 🤣 His local knowledge was invaluable, offering insightful recommendations for dining and entertainment that enhanced our visit. In summary, The Drift Hotel provided an outstanding experience that exceeded all expectations. The beautiful facilities and prime location were enhanced by the unparalleled service led by Eric. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a welcoming stay. Eric and his team have set a new standard for hospitality, and we look forward to our next visit.
