We went with a group of people. We choose Ocean Pointe because it was the only place we could find that would easily accommodate 6 families, had a nice pool, and access to the ocean. It checked all the boxes and we had a great time. Our room was nice. It was 2 bedroom and bathroom. The master bedroom was nice, the second bedroom seemed to be more of an afterthought. The beds weren't very comfortable. For both the rooms, more thought to the curtains is needed. The sun comes up in the master bedroom and is Absolutely blinding. The curtains did nothing. The second bedroom was extremely bright too. It borders the hallway and there was an emergency light in front of the room with another blinding light coming through. The kitchen was basic, but good for us. We only eat breakfast and lunch and have no ambitions of cooking some big meal, so the lack of pots and pans didn't bother us. The internet was bad... I wish that wasn't something I was complaining about on vacation, but we all have come to live and die by the internet. There were people sent to our room, twice, to try and diagnose the issue. It was nice to get the service, but nothing really improved. We had washer/dryer in the unit and our water pressure was awesome! My kids took showers every day and didn't complain at all. The balcony is a joke... There are 2 chairs on it, but really only room for 1 person. I sat out there by myself for a while, but there is no room. The beach is a joke... Our mistake for anticipating more than we received as there really aren't any beaches in the Keys, and this beach is no different. The water is super murky, no waves, and generally pretty quiet. 20 kids were not welcome... However, the pool is awesome. I'm not sure how the residents felt about it, but it was a true free-for-all. Bring it if you got it... Floaties, balls, coolers, drinks... It was awesome. The pool is huge, well kept and open super late, until 11pm. I saw people complaining about the lack of service. Personally, I took that as an opportunity to save money. We just brought out the ice, blender, and made the drinks ourselves. Their service was worthless; but we were Johnny on the spot. We went to the store in the morning, bought all the booze, mixers and ice, and made drinks for $1 instead of the $12 the bar was charging. No food? No problem, just order it from a restaurant for better food anyway. There were a lot of people in the pool, but there always seemed to be a spot to "get away from it", i.e. if you were in the shallow end, you were pretty much left in peace. The deep end was another story. The tennis/pickle ball courts were in great shape and well lit. They were open whenever we wanted them. There was also a basketball hoop towards the entrance of the facility. It might not seem like much, but for a high school boy, it's hours of entertainment when there isn't a ton else to do on vacation.... Overall, MY rating for the place would have to be just OK... Overall, it was clean for us, the pool and tennis courts were great, but the Keys for me are just OK. It was the first time I have been there in a long time and if you aren't into boating, I'm just not sure what you're going to do down there? The weather was great, but to get anywhere, I had to drive and there were no beaches. Just to leave the property was .6 miles, from my room to the entrance of the property, so you are looking at, at least 4 miles if you're walking anywhere. Golf doesn't exist on a peninsula that is less than 1 mile wide (you idiot), but that doesn't mean I don't want it! I had a good time, but I'm probably not going back. My friends and the weather made it a good time, not the...

My family and I rented a unit after diligently saving all year for our summer family vacation.
We arrived late on our first night where we were met with poor lighting throughout a fairly outdated unit. “Ocean Views” are extremely limited as buildings are placed far from the actual water. The property contains 4-5 buildings, with each building located further from the water than the building before it. There is a sliver view of the the ocean, with the 99% of the remaining view being marsh and trees.
Also, as an aside, the tiny 3 foot triangle that is labeled as your “balcony” can hardly accommodate one person and the railing has a very large gap in it that would easily allow any toddler to slip through to the stories below.
Although we were registered as a family of 5, there were only enough towels/accommodations for 4 guests- an issue that of course was promised to be resolved the next morning (it never was). In addition to this, several kitchen mugs and the coffee maker had not been cleaned from the previous occupants of our unit, yet were placed in positions to indicate that they had been.
The first morning after we arrived, around 6:30, my wife and I were jerked from our sleep with noises of hammering and drilling, and the walls physically rattling and vibrating. It even woke up our 3 young boys. We contacted the front office via telephone where we were met with an apathetic staff person who informed us they had no way of addressing this as all units are “individually owned” and they had “no way of contacting the owner” of the unit adjacent to ours. My family and I decided to leave the noise torture around 10:30 AM to speak with a staff member in the front office to inquire about being moved to another unit to escape the noise. We were again told there was “nothing [they] do” as units were individually owned and were advised to contact Agoda who we booked the unit through. They confirmed that the extensive renovations in the unit next to ours would definitely continue at least throughout the remainder of our stay (which was 5 days total).
We contacted Agoda as we were advised where a representative verbalized understanding of our situation, validated our concerns, and agreed to contact the property to request a partial or full refund for the inconvenience as my family and I decided to leave and book other accommodations. Ocean Point refused/were unwilling/claimed they were unable to relocate us to another unit. Who would want to stay in a unit riddled with constant noises of construction for 12+ hours a day while on a vacation, especially when one of us is susceptible to noise induced migraine?
Ultimately and as expected due to rhe preceding indifferent nature of Ocean Pointe staff, the property decided to deny a full or partial refund, and my family and I lost approximately $2K while spending more at another property. We also lost an entire day of our short vacation as we we were forced to navigate this situation (finding a new place, repacking all of our belongings and loading our car, then driving to the new location where we again, unpacked). Now, we have to investigate how to proceed and consult with a lawyer.
Needless to say, my family and I will NEVER RETURN nor would we ever recommend this overpriced and outdated...
Read moreThis place is advertised as Key Largo but is NOT! It’s Tavernier, which seems more industrial with not very close to services like restaurants. It’s a 15-20 min drive to Key Largo or Islamorada for most restaurants.
Our room was nothing like the advertised pictures on Travelocity. We definitely did not have granite countertops or nice furnishings. Seems like it hasn’t been updated since it was built. The unit was in poor condition, extremely poor drywall repairs and patches, pics falling off the wall. Linen Closet was filled with dust, paint and repair items rather than towels. Customer service should note how many people are on the reservation and leave the proper amount of towels, as well as go through each unit to make sure it has been properly cleaned. There was trash and a lot of dust under the bed.
The couch bed made my 7 year olds back hurt, that’s the worst mattress I’ve ever seen on a couch bed. We stayed in room 2204, the dishes were dirty in the cabinets with no soap to clean them and only 3 big plates and 4 small plates with a couple of bowls. The bedroom fan screeched and sounded like a mouse was in our room, my husband couldn’t sleep. The bathroom fan also screeched and rattled. The exterior hall light came through to the master bedroom shutters at night so you couldn’t sleep. There was a 3ft mold spot in the drywall above the couch with obvious previous repairs. There was an empty bottle of vodka in our closet that wasn’t cleaned up. Our reservation had 3 guests with only 2 of each towel pool and bath. I called for more towels at 7pm (check in is 5, we arrived about 5:45/6 to their offsite customer service location) they said they were closed at 7 even though it says open until 10. I’d have to wait for the onsite to open at 10. They told me more towels should be under the sink. But our sink cabinets were screwed closed which was so poorly done it split their cabinets. The “private beach” is not as pictured it smelled terrible which is the time of year and seaweed season, however the water was dingy and slimy looking and there was no seaweed on the beach at that time. Also no paddle boards or chairs as shown. The pool has a bar but says no outside drinks meaning from your fridge, but they want you to pay $15 a drink for their cocktails at your hotel. The pool was the nicest amenity of our whole stay. They sent me a text asking about my stay and I told them. When we arrived back to the unit we had more bath towels, dish detergent for machine and handwashing as well as laundry pod. This was the night before our departure. I also don’t appreciate them coming into our unit while we were gone as I specifically said I was informing them of what I thought was missed but I wasn’t complaining, I just wouldn’t be back. I felt misled from the pics. If they’re privately owned you need to show all properties and they should be priced accordingly. Showing your top unit and booking your worst for the same price as listed is a bait and switch. I own Airbnb’s and this was a...
