Centrally located in the Heart of the Green Mountains, The Rustic Charm of Turn of River Lodge makes it a true GEM in Killington Flats! ||On the main floor the Great Room's cozy fireplace warms this welcoming space. ||The Turn of River Family is welcoming, friendly, helpful, caring and interesting! ||You are NOT going to stay in your room are you? I do not think so! ||...In the evenings friendships are quickly formed in front of the massive fireplace, play board games, card games, enjoy an adult beverage and TV/music (Struggling to keep the fun at a mild roar we are reminded there are quiet hours (930p)but fun is had by all!) Plans are made to Hike, Bike, Ski and traveling to see all of Vermonts Treasures! :)|| In the mornings lifelong friendly relationships continue to grow at the long family style table. Breakfast Service is of the Continental variety with offerings of Coffee, Juice, Hot water for Tea and Oatmeal, Fruit, Yogurt, a selection of Breads/Bagels (seasonal favs Pumpkin, Cranberry & Specialty breads), Cream Cheese/Peanut Butter/Jams, a selection of Cereals (one is Gluten free), Milk and Almond Milk (lactose free option)... in addition... the Seasonal offerings consist of a local favorite, Homemade Apple Bread with an apple layer that turns this bread into the culinary delight that is OFF the charts, like an apple pie inside of a bread (& a bit addictive actually. Be aware ;)) , and the "Super Star Quiche"... OH MY!! Absolutely LOADED with fresh vegis and Vermont Cheddar. These Seasonal Favorites are a pleasant surprise offering that bump up the Continental Breakfast to the next level to be sure! || ...Add the impossibly clean atmosphere and its a 5 STAR rating for this traveler!!!|| Ever witness a white glove test in ANY hotel? I have!! Being rurally located I am certain the spiders LOVE to make this home their own... They can try! ;p lol||||On on the main floor there is a guest refrigerator (in the "Game Room" as well as a microwave and dishes/flatware (in the Dining Area). Leave all your dirties on the tray and its all magically cleared away. (I love this part!) ||I almost forgot! ...The 3rd Floor has a cozy and quiet library with a love seat, 2 arm chairs and lamps to read by. ||||Stair Therapy... Whether you're upstairs in a private room (choose private bathroom or shared bath), downstairs in the budget friendly dorms (Takes many back to college days, Hostel style... its not fancy, but if you need a clean bed to rest and clean bath it suits the bill... AND BREAKFAST IS INCLUDED!!) or rent the private rustic cabin (sleeps 8) you're in for a treat! ||||There are NO bad views in the Beautiful State of Vermont plan to see them all as Turn of River Lodge is conveniently located minutes from Killington Mountain, 5 min to Skyship Gondola (Open Winter Season), 30min to Woodstock and 45 min to the Quechee Gorge.|| Whether your'e visiting in the Winter Season or Summer Season Turn of River IS the...

This a a place for folks who are interested in the great outdoors instead of pricey, stuffy hotels. Turn of River Lodge is your place at the mountains that you're sharing with friends you haven't met yet! ||||This was our first stay here. We'll definitely be back. It's just like a place we stayed at when I was a kid.||||Put your feet up, have a drink, play solitaire or invite others to play cards or a board game in the great room/dining area. Or just share stories and tips about the local skiing and beyond.||||There a microwave and large guest fridge. A great fireplace and plenty of wood. Indoor storage for skis and boards.||||Clean and plenty of hot water in the shower.||||A variety of rooms and sleeping arrangements. The hosts are accommodating.||||There are a number of regular guests who were friendly and welcoming too.||||Not a lot of protein with breakfast. I brought microwavable eggs to augment the continental breakfast. Great coffee. Fresh, store-bought bread and bagels. Cream cheese and peanut butter are also served with breakfast.||||They have a room for waxing and tuning your skis or board.||||I had a great time, my 18 year old daughter was along. She really liked the dorm style room we had the first night. I like it fine. It's a great way to stay near the mountain at a very reasonable price. I liked the private room we had later too.||||The après ski beverages are BYOB and that's great too.||||If everyone is checked-in, they turn off the lights on the sign. The Lodge is a little hard to see at night when the sign is off. Coming from Killington Rd it's on the right, second house after Hemingway's, just about across from...

Came here for 1 night on Jan 1st, initially booked for 2 people, but a friend decided to join last minute. I was worried we would have to pay extra, but the lady who checked us in was super sweet and didn't even make a notice of it. We stayed at room 6, which had a private bathroom. There were fresh good quality towels and beds were comfortable. The living room is where the guests hang out, but we didn't have time to enjoy it. Sadly they removed the Christmas tree on Jan 2nd. Breakfast was minimal - coffee, milk, toasts and cream cheese. There is also a rack to keep your ski gear inside.

Exactly as advertised, affordable and comfortable accommodations. We stayed for one night in room 4, which utilized a shared hallway bathroom. Each room is unique. Some have bathrooms and some do not. Shared bathroom space was clean. Signs said there were bath mats but I could not find any, not a huge deal. Slept well overall, it was whisper quiet. Keep in mind this property is historic and you can hear your neighbors through the wall so be respectful :) Such a quaint and cute experience overall we would definitely stay again!

It's easy to hear people's TVs through the walls, but other than that, it was a lovely stay! The staff is wicked friendly, the whole place is cozy, there is a fire place (I absolutely loved it especially after snowboarding all day) and they have ski/snowboard racks inside to store your gear if you don't want to leave it in the car. It's also pretty close to Killington, maybe a 7 minute drive if that. The area was very quiet as well which was delightful :)
