We booked a last minute stay in the Big Dipper yurt. This was our first experience "glamping" and it really lives up to it's hype. We are more high maintenance folks but wanted to go on a casual, yet comfortable camping trip with our kids. This resort was everything we could've asked for! The secluded feel, the campfire, the golf cart, the San Marcos river within walking distance, the swings, volleyball court, and photo ops, the deer, the indoor bathroom, shower and outdoor shower, French press coffee. The wrap-around deck. All of these things made it so memorable. We brought supplies for s'mores and for grilling our meals. There is a smaller fridge inside so you can fill it up from your cooler when you arrive. Our kids LOVED the rides on the golf cart and taking dips in the river and our campfire. I would recommend staying 2 nights to get the full experience. Staff was so helpful, I texted them a question and they responded immediately. It was a little hard to find the resort at first since we made a wrong turn into another property but quickly found our way to Wahwahtaysee. This place should be on the Yeti website because there is so much Yeti gear everywhere! It is catalog worthy! Yeti - if you are reading this, please visit this resort and feature them on...
Read moreBe sure to read ALL details provided at the time of booking and sent the day before your trip. If you like outdoors, camping, and nature, this place is for you. Upon entering, ther is covered parking where you will have to leave your vehicle for the duration of the stay. You are assigned a 4 seater golf golf cart & a guy will load your stuff on a wagon to deliver it to your cabin. If you have more than 4 adults, you will have to pay for a 2nd golf cart or have your group wait turns to be picked up. The cabins are nice with AC, mini-fridge, kitchenette, pool towels, toiletries, outdoor shower, grill, and patio furniture. The downside of the cabin is how bugs easily come in. The pool & jacuzzi are nice, clean, and large. The bartender made our stay fun with music, drinks, and snacks. Everything on the menu was not always available & at one point the fryer didnt work at all. The trails are bumpy, so I'm happy the golf carts had seatbelts. The river access is cool, and there's patio furniture out for people to lounge. Everything is at your own risk, so watch out for wildlife, dogs, etc. There are other areas to fish, play vollyball, and other outdoor games. Overall, it's a nice place to go relax & be...
Read moreI live in a large city. The first thing I noticed when I pulled into the resort was how much space I was able to call my own for the weekend. Setting aside the apartment-sized tent (a/c, fridge, kitchen, bathroom, shower, tub large enough for a 6'4'' man, and king-sized bed), you have 100 acres to explore on foot or by way of a golf cart, and private access to the San Marcos River. If you like grilling or roasting 'mallows, you won't be disappointed by the personal Green Egg and fire pit you'll find outside your tent! If you like to drink ice cold or piping hot beverages, you will really enjoy the Yeti products Wahwahtaysee provides to you during your stay.
On your last day, if you're like me, you are not going to want to leave (and you will dread packing everything up and loading it into your car). I'd recommend, at the very least, having Wahwahtaysee's private chef make you breakfast for your last day. You'll get a great start and leaving Wahwahtaysee, while bittersweet, will be a little easier on a full stomach.
I can't wait to go back!

Went back and it was just as good as my...
