I can't believe that I waited so long to play here. It is about a 25 minute drive from home, and although I had seen it online, I assumed that with the rates the way they were (low) and a very lackluster website, that the course would reflect it. Played today for the first time. I was extremely impressed with the course to say the least. Also, the cart was new and modern (functional USB charging ports for both passengers).
So I play a lot of golf .. I am not great, but not terrible (7.4 index). I play the ball as it lies and am therefore very critical of courses where I routinely get bad lies in the fairway due to poor grass coverage. I found nothing to complain about today in the fairways, the rough had only occasional bare patches and the greens had none that I saw. I found myself in one bunker today and the sand was plentiful and light ... was not expecting that at all.
The greens were probably rolling about a 10.5, so not lightening fast, but not shaggy to the point where they are trying to make them look to be in better condition than they truly are. This course is going to be one of my regulars from now on ... It's nearly as good as Eagle Pointe, but 30 minutes closer (for me) and $15 cheaper. The fact that they have great discounts for seniors, vets such as myself and first responders is just icing on the cake.
The only complaint I had today was the pace was a bit slow ... 5 hours. Granted it is New Years Eve, sunny and 75 and the course was packed to the gills, so in that context, 5 is probably as good as it was anywhere.
Play this course. You will not be...

Read moreI have played many courses in the area and this course rates the lowest. The course is not maintained at all except for mowing. Full of weeds both fairways amd greens are the worst i have ever seen. The owner and greens keeper should be ashamed. If they dont have the money to maintain properly they should close. The owner shows the course up for sale and advertised as a profitable buisness. If this is the case he should put some money into the course. This would realy help draw people to play it. The course has great potential due this nice layout but is not taken care of. I would pass on the opportunity to play it due to the lack of grass and weeds. Go play Eagle Pointe in Mont Belvieu hands down...
