This is perhaps one of the most charming, well-thought-out and fun "glamping" resorts I have been to. Highly recommend. I am a hospitality executive and former Disney cast member (employee) in their hospitality sector and am "allergic" to mediocre service and facilities. This does not mean every property has to be Ritz-Carlton standards or snobby, but it does have to have warm, genuine service, attention to detail, be clean, and if there are some nice touches that are above and beyond, that's what counts. Crater Lake Resort had all of this and more. ||Purpose of Trip: Family trip (last family trip of the season before my daughter headed off to her sophomore year of college on the east coast). We are newly-moved to Oregon from 3 generations of Californians and wanted to make the most of seeing some of our new state as well as support the National Park Service, so we wanted to see Crater Lake and found Crater Lake Resort as one of the only places left available. And we are so glad we did.||Where we stayed: We chose a Deluxe Creekside Cabin. It had a/c in the living room (portable and worked great), a fan in the closet one could pull out to use (something we didn't need to do), a queen size bed in the bedroom (that had amazing views of the creek- see photos), full operating kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, fridge, sink, dishes and pots/pans/silverware, in living room: sofa bed (It is probably considered a "full" size, but was a bit short, but do-able), bag of clean bedding and pillow for the sofa bed; full towels and washcloths and a bathroom that was small but absolutely adequate and TV with satellite channels. Outside we had our own picnic table and bbq overlooking our portion of the creek. There were also special touches like a basket of towels just for your dog, floor or feet from being outdoors, light but functional toiletries, dish soap and dish towels, a roll of paper towels in the kitchen. We absolutely loved taking the canoe out on the creek, and took several walks on the trails. ||Overall property plusses: the "front desk" is also their market. Trust me, if you forgot something they have it. And since there is no restaurant or market for 23 miles (unless you go into Crater Lake National Park), Crater Lake Resort market has provisions (including frozen foods like pizzas, microwavable meals, breakfasts, and more) to feed you and your family. Run out of toilet paper at your cabin or need a hairdryer? Just run into the market/front desk and get those items at no charge for your cabin. ||In the community area is a giant area/firepit with Adirondack chairs, a charming covered foot bridge, pickleball court, playground for kids, canoes and paddles for a fun/light/easy cruise down the creek, and tons of areas for accessing the creek if you want to wade or play. Dogs are allowed for an extra fee and it was one of the reasons we chose this property, as we wanted to travel with our dog. While we didn't chose the following areas on this trip, there are thoughtfully laid out spaces for RV's and tent camping, as well as yurts (all of which have fire pits of their own and shared public bathrooms, but they are spaced out well and so charming). There is also access to a pizza oven and community BBQ as well, in addition to nice covered porch places to sit and relax at the main market/lodge.||The entire property is immaculate and a 20 minute (beautiful and easy) drive to entrance of Crater Lake National Park. ||The highlight of this visit was employee Wendy who ran the "front desk", market, and took care of all guests simultaneously. She was warm, down to earth, never rattled, despite multiple things going on at once, locked up the market to come over and tend to our oven "problem" that was the quickly resolved, ran us a roll of toilet paper even though we offered to pick it up. She was friendly, engaged, and to us, was the heart and soul of Crater Lake Resort and all our interactions and service needs.||Pack your sense of "glamping". This is not a Four Seasons resort. Some of the reviews seemed to imply they didn't have this "luxury" experience and this is not what this is, nor should it be. It's truly a deluxe "glamping" experience : choose your level of "glamping": RV, pitch a tent, yurt, charming small cabin with no a/c or a more Deluxe Creekside Cabin, which we had and loved. During our stay, the water had to be shut off for the property for a few hours due to unforeseen circumstances, but we all survived and Wendy kept everyone updated. You can't control what happens in hospitality (or life), but it's how one copes with it and Wendy was fantastic.||Helpful hints: for the cabins: Deluxe Creekside Cabins have the a/c and a working TV with satellite TV (the other cabins across the lawn looked charming but do not have a/c); also they are very clear up front that wi-fi is "spotty" and they are correct. Do not plan on relying on it - or cell phone service- at all. It was really not use-able at all, and certainly will not work if you or anyone in your party is planning on "streaming". Bring board games, card games and plan on connecting with each other, resting, and enjoying all that Crater Lake Resort has to offer. It is plenty. ||We will definitely be back and recommend this gem to anyone considering it. |------------------------------------------------------|My suggestions for Crater Lake Lodge: The Deluxe Creekside Cabin was stocked with one coffee pouch and two rolls of toilet paper for 3 people for 3 days/two nights: it would have been helpful to have the resort look ahead to see how many are going to stay in the cabin and to stock it accordingly (at least 3 coffee packs, 4 rolls of toilet paper) | Additionally, we reached out on email a week prior with some questions on our room so we would know what to pack/not pack and never heard back | The Website, while well-intentioned, is not entirely user-friendly and a bit confusing in how it's navigated | On our morning of check-out, the employee working the front desk with green hair wasn't especially warm when I walked into the market, and this same employee kept talking on her cell phone while my husband was checking out. She never broke her conversation to acknowledge him or offer him a print out of our stay's final invoice. Perhaps she was handling a guest situation, which I understand, but I suggest they always take a pause to acknowledge a guest standing in...

I’m a hospitality executive and former Disney cast member, and I’m “allergic” to mediocre service and facilities. That doesn’t mean every place has to be Ritz-Carlton-level or snobby—it just needs to be clean, thoughtful, and offer warm, genuine service. Crater Lake Resort had all of this and more. Purpose of Trip: A meaningful family getaway before my daughter returned to her sophomore year of college on the East Coast. As newly relocated Oregonians from three generations of Californians, we wanted to explore our new state and support the National Park Service. We chose Crater Lake Resort out of limited availability—and are so glad we did. Where We Stayed: A Deluxe Creekside Cabin. It had a portable A/C unit in the living room (worked great), a fan in the closet (which we didn’t end up needing), and a queen bed in the bedroom with beautiful creek views. The full kitchen came equipped with stove, oven, microwave, fridge, sink, pots, pans, dishes, and silverware. The living room had a sofa bed—probably a full size—but a bit short (still workable). A bag of clean bedding and pillow were provided for it. The bathroom was compact but perfectly adequate. There were full sets of towels and washcloths, a satellite TV, and little thoughtful extras like a basket of towels for dogs or muddy feet, light toiletries, dish soap, dish towels, and paper towels. Outside, we had our own picnic table and BBQ overlooking the creek. We also loved taking out the canoe and walking the trails. Around the Property: The “front desk” is part of a well-stocked market—which is great, because the nearest restaurant or grocery store is 23 miles away. From frozen pizzas to microwavable meals and breakfast items, they’ve got you covered. Run out of toilet paper or need a hairdryer? Just pop into the market—no charge. Community perks include a large firepit with Adirondack chairs, a covered footbridge, pickleball court, playground, canoes, and creek access for wading. Dogs are welcome for a fee, which was a huge plus for us. While we didn’t stay in one, the RV and tent sites and yurts looked charming, with their own fire pits and access to shared restrooms. There’s also a pizza oven, community BBQs, and comfy covered porch seating near the lodge. The entire property is immaculate and just a scenic 20-minute drive to Crater Lake National Park. Staff Highlight: Wendy was a standout. She managed the market, front desk, and all guest needs with ease and kindness—never flustered, always helpful. She even locked up the market to personally come fix a minor oven issue, and delivered extra supplies right to our door. Wendy truly felt like the heart of the resort. A Few Helpful Tips: This is glamping—not the Four Seasons. Some reviews miss the mark by expecting a luxury resort, but this is about charm, nature, and comfort. Choose your level of glamping—RV, tent, yurt, small cabin (some without A/C), or the Deluxe Creekside Cabin, which we adored. During our stay, there was a short water shut-off due to unforeseen issues, but Wendy kept everyone informed. Things happen in hospitality—it’s how people handle them that counts. Cabin Tips: The Deluxe Creekside Cabins include A/C and satellite TV; others don’t. Wi-Fi is spotty (as they note), and cell service is practically nonexistent—don’t count on streaming anything. Bring board games, cards, and your sense of unplugged adventure. We’ll definitely be back—and wholeheartedly recommend this gem. Tried posting photos, Google kept delivering an...

⚠️ FRAUDULENT LISTING
Every booking site said the room had two queen beds. What we got? One queen + a sofa bed. Asked them right away — they admitted it was a “translation error.” So they knew it was wrong and just left it like that to get more bookings?
No staff at night (we got there at 9:30pm — their “after hours” at a so-called 3-star resort?), and their “feel free to leave and we'll refund” message didn’t even reach us until days later due to bad signal.
Is that something we’re supposed to negotiate after arrival? Like many other bad reviews mentioned — there’s literally nowhere else to stay within 30 miles, and it was cold, dark, with poor signal.
We wouldn’t have put ourselves in this situation if they’d just been honest about what the room actually had.
⚠️ HOT WATER? We WAITED nearly an hour.
After 2 people took normal showers (~15 minutes), hot water was gone.
We waited another 45 minutes — still cold.
Our friend had to go to bed sweaty and dirty after hiking all day. Old stains on the bedsheet made me wonder if they even cleaned it properly.
Next morning we brought it up, and they were just like: “It’s common knowledge how water tanks work.”I’ve stayed at hundreds of places, and this is the first so-called “3-star resort” where this even happens.
Again — they knew, but just didn’t tell guests. But seriously — isn’t it COMMON SENSE that if something like that affects your guests, you tell them ahead of time?
Of course we know how water tanks work — otherwise, why would we have waited nearly an hour? ——————————
If it hadn’t been for safety concerns, we would’ve left immediately — instead of spending so much time defending ourselves.
They’re clearly counting on one-time visitors who won’t return. Just don’t fall for it.

➡️ UPDATE
The owner has since replied to my friend’s review (which has been deleted — so every detail is now covered here) — not to take any responsibility, but to question why we were upset.
Instead of addressing the ACTUAL ISSUES (false listing, lack of hot water, no support), they chose to focus on our reaction — as if the real problem was that we were “too emotional,” not that we were misled.
They somehow have plenty of time to argue with us on Google Maps — but they can’t fix the listing on Expedia, didn't answer Hotels.com calls, and claim it’s all “out of their control.”
Meanwhile, they keep profiting from misleading listings on those very platforms.
Unless they actually FIX these issues or at least ACKNOWLEDGE them honestly, this will be my final update.
The facts speak...
