I've always tried to avoid making snap judgements on first impressions as well as recognizing that things might look different from someone else's perspective. With this in mind, I am offering MY experience with Delaware River Campground. Your mileage may vary. First, we almost missed the campground. Google said we had arrived, but it was quite a distance before we came to the small sign and narrow entrance (we were approaching from I-80). Registration was slow, and there wasn't much room for me to wait while my wife dealt with the somewhat unhelpful and rude office staff. No one escorted us to our site, which normally I don't mind, but in this case there was some confusion, because we were under the impression that we had full hookups (water, electric, and sewer). My in-laws arrived just after us and they were in the same boat. We did eventually get settled and decided to make it work. The most annoying part of this, however, was that the only bathhouse was A.) on the opposite end of the campground, and B.) DISGUSTING. It looked like these bathrooms and showers hadn't been cleaned in days. To top things off, we were very close to a VERY busy road. The noise got so disruptive at times that we had to stop our conversation and wait for it to pass. Now, I'm not going to say that everything was awful. The sites were very large, and the (mostly) seasonal campers kept their sites neat and did quiet down at night. All in all, if you are a seasonal camper looking for a summer getaway, then you can probably disregard this review. However, if you are in a similar situation to myself - looking for full hookup campsites to spend a couple of days visiting with family and exploring the area, I cannot recommend Delaware River Campground.

Is this campground supposed to be a family thing? Because it’s insane they don’t care about quite times there was 3 groups playing music loudly the hole night until 6 Am. and After hours they don’t answer the phone I had a problem with my key card and I had to leave my car in the front. They don’t really care for the people that is staying there. If you have kids don’t go. The next day it rained and it was flooded and all our space is flooded we had to leave immediately when we called to get a refund they said we couldn’t get a refund because it’s not there fault for the weather like they couldn’t know that my space gets flooded. So I did not get the refund for the night and also all my stuff is ruined

We went during a VERY rainy weekend and still left feeling like there was plenty to do. Loved the playground area and the RC track was a huge hit. We rented the loft cabin and it was perfect for us and our small children. It was very clean and comfortable. It had stairs up to the loft- that overlooked the living/kitchen area. A full bath and separate queen bedroom in the back. We will definitely be back- hopefully for better weather.

What can I say about this campground? Unfortunately, we experienced numerous issues during our stay.

To begin with, we were initially assigned a site that had a large hole in the ground—an extremely dangerous situation, especially considering we have children. While the staff did relocate us without any trouble, it was concerning that such a site would even be offered.

We then faced several other problems, including power outages and lack of water. On top of that, we had a very unpleasant encounter with a woman—who seemed to be in charge—who was extremely rude and disrespectful. She insisted that my son wear a helmet, despite the fact that dozens of other children were riding without helmets. While I understand that wearing helmets is the law, I simply questioned why she was only targeting us and not enforcing the rule equally. Her reaction was completely unprofessional—she shouted irrationally and treated us as if we didn’t belong there.

The restrooms were another serious concern. They were filthy, with broken showers and no evidence of maintenance or proper cleaning. Tent sites were mixed with RV sites, creating a chaotic and disorganized atmosphere. Loud music of every genre and language was played late into the night with no regulation, making it difficult to rest.

The entire campground felt unsafe and poorly managed. Given the large size of the area, there should absolutely be some form of security—especially near the river. But there was none. The staff seemed overwhelmed and clearly not equipped to handle the high volume of guests during the holiday weekend.

As for the holiday activities, there was almost nothing offered. A simple golf cart parade was the only event to “celebrate” Independence Day—quite underwhelming. The only entertainment was a man playing music from the 1980s, clearly targeting the permanent residents of the campground.

To make matters worse, I noticed numerous portable toilets placed near tent sites—alarmingly close to water sources used for drinking and cooking. This is unacceptable. The water itself smelled terrible, both for bathing and for use with our RV equipment.

Overall, I am extremely disappointed with this campground and do not plan to return. I would not recommend it to anyone. They have many serious issues to address. I’ve known this campground for nearly four years, and I have seen absolutely no improvements or reinvestments in the infrastructure. Everything remains the same, as if the only priority is to generate income without caring about the quality of the guest experience.

It’s truly disappointing, and I honestly do not understand how they still operate three locations and continue to...

I will never go back here again, I have visited this campsite for many years, (over 6yrs) and have always had a wonderful time. But I am so sorry to say my how things have changed. the new manger and staff are beyond awful. We arrived with four kids and family members only to be treated rudely, they followed us around the campsite and asked us to shut up!! Yes they actually said shut up so many words in the dictionary and that is the vocabulary they choose to use better yet it was 4:30pm (the noise was from kids playing while the adults set-up camp) quite time is supposed to be at 11pm, now the second time the staff came around they spoke to one of the kids he is 14yrs and were horrible I could believe with all the adults in the campsite they directed there attention to a kid and how they were speaking to him I have to say was out of order, one of the staff actually had his finger in this little boys face! My daughter who is ten started to cry because this man scared her, by this point it was only 6:30pm in the afternoon I could not understand this man’s issue but I tried to be civil and continue to have a good time in spite of the behavior of the staff. by the next morning at 9;30am when the manager was in, I tried to speak with him and all he could tell me was that the staff member spoke with him this morning and that we had to leave no refund and no explanation nothing, what's worst, an hour after they told us to leave the manager came back and said we need to move faster now it took us almost 3 hours to set up how could we possibly take all that equipment down in an hour when I asked the manager to be reasonable his response was do you need help I responded " that would be great", 20 min later cops arrived they didn't even let us take a shower before we left on a 2hour and 45min ride back home this was the worst experience camping of my whole life. if you have kids and or like to be treated like a human being this is NOT the...

After reading the prior reviews of this campground, I was a little anxious about our weekend at Delaware Family Campground. I needn't have worried at all - we had an excellent experience! The staff were super-friendly, the sites were spacious, bathrooms were completely fine, and other campers were well-behaved. I highly recommend this campground for anyone looking for a weekend on the Delaware!||||There are three main areas to choose from - the 'circle' which was mostly RVs, the tent section along the river, and the rv/tent section by Rt 46. We were on site 37 on the circle, and it was HUGE! No privacy from other campsites, and no river view, but it was massive, and close to the store, pavillion, and bathhouse, which was nice. ||||The tent sites were beautiful - lots of grass and trees for privacy. It's a shame there was no water or electric at these sites because they were really lovely. ||||The rv/tent section by Rt 46 looked nice as well, but I imagine there is some traffic noise. ||||There are two points of access to the river. The south access point has a boat ramp, and a rocky shore. The north access point has a sandy beach - perfect for launching tubes and hanging out. No need to be shuttled up the river to tube - there was not much current in the river, so the kids could just float around in front of the campsite.||||The store was very well stocked, and prices were very reasonable. There was an arcade and pingpong for the kids. Also some arts and crafts, and entertainment. ||||There is always a possibility of being stuck next to rowdy campers wherever you go, but we certainly didn't encounter any.||||Overall, the grounds were beautiful and well-maintained. The pool was crowded, but clean. The playground was large, and there was plenty of grass for the kids to play on. There are not many campgrounds with good access to the Delaware, and this one has it! We...
