Went up to Indian River with my wife and met up with one of my 3 brothers and one of my 4 sisters. We're all senior citizens and we spent 3 weeks each summer up near there on Burt Lake as kids, so this trip was very nostalgic for us.||||My wife and I stayed in one of the efficiency units and brother and sister rented a 2 bedroom cabin.||||The resort is maybe 50 years old and the owner purchased it just 6 weeks ago. He and his wife and daughter (?) and a couple of hands run the place. We paid $80/night for the efficiency unit, not sure what the cabins rent for--check it out on the internet.||||The efficiency units were clean, but small. There is no a/c so with 88 degree temps, it was very hot. Fortunately, we were not in the unit very much. Unfortunately, there was little breeze, but at night, the bedroom ceiling fan kept the air moving. A window a/c unit would be a great investment.||||We rented a pontoon boat for half a day, but were only able to fish for an hour before the rain forced us to come in. However, we caught a couple of nice pike on the river where we fished since we couldn't get on the lakes due to high winds. The owner, John, was very nice and let us go out the next day for as long as we wanted, and we surely exceeded the half day rental with no additional charge.||||I would go there again, but not during prime season. Being there after Labor day pretty much gave us the run of the place since the season was officially over. ||||John and his family are very customer focused owners and will acomodate whatever your need may be given the limitations of...
Read moreWould NEVER stay here again! My family and I rented cabin 12 this past weekend (8/9-11/2013) this was the grossest place I think I've EVER been. The stench of mold when we first walked in nearly knocked us out, the visiable old school mouse traps under the sink and next to the fridge were a good indication to not leave any belongings there, or you might be taking a friend home with you. The photo I attached is from the drawer of the television stand. The top of the television looked like it had a bloody hand print, after further inspection that turned out to be a candle wax hand print. Our kids refused to sleep using the blankets provided cause there were visiable dried boogars stuck to the comforter. When we inquired on the pricing of renting a pontoon, we were quoted prices MUCH higher than what was written in the litature with the explaination of the boat was new. At 160.00 a night, I truly expected a much nicer place that included towels and me not having to make the beds before bedtime. A week prior to this we were at the Hyatt...MUCH nicer and the cost was MUCH less too. Two words to describe this place....TRULY...
Read moreThe Landings has a great location on Indian River - right between Mullet Lake and Burt Lake. The cabins are rustic but very clean and each cabin does come with a dock for your boat. The new owners have made improvements like each cabin has their own weber grill, the WIFI is perfect, and they have rentals if you don't have a boat. Despite great location, other boaters need to remember that the cabins/docks on part of the NO WAKE area. This does become annoying when boaters pass by and bounce the boats, especially when you are trying to pump gas! This is not the owners fault but they could put up signs on either side of the resort. Also, there needs to be a little more control of the guest. Three nights in a row we were awaken at 2:00 am by young drunks that forgot it's a small resort and voices travel. They should have been asked to leave after night 2 (by the way, yes she was cheating on you with your friend -...
