I give Nathan, the front desk evening/night attendant a 5 star. He was a professional, respectful and a knowledgeable associate. He tried his best to accommodate my request of a first floor or closest to the end corner of the hotel. Due to the fact that I had 3- four year olds and I wanted to make sure we didnāt bother other hotel guests. He did his best and gave us the 2nd floor, closest to the stairway/exit.
The 1 star is for the unfortunate experience on the morning of check out. From the breakfast attendant stating to another couple that she would restock the breakfast buffet once our family left because we devoured it and she couldnāt wait for us to leave. Iām still just as shocked writing this as we were hearing her. No shame in herself at all. And more so, because I also had to request if they would be restocking items as well as it was not prepared to go at 7:45am š¤Æ
And then the group of unprofessional (4) other employees (Front Desk attendant aka manager, laundry attendant, housekeeping attendant and the guest that complained had to per the front desk attendant āgo find themā to deliver the noise complaint 17 minutes before check out. We didnāt get a phone call we had a personal visit from 4 whole people.
My thoughts were: Who was watching the front desk? And why did the front desk manager lead a guest to another guest room to deliver a complaint? Shouldnāt the front desk ask the guest thatās filing a complaint for their room number to make a phone complaint first? Iām still so confused.
I have never had an experience to feel like a white thing with a blended Hispanic family but unfortunately thatās exactly what happened. And Nathan, he is white and he was amazing, so it was a thing and a sad experience. A terrible feeling to have š„ŗ Iāve never even written a review with a 1 star or one with a ā¦.I donāt know a racist like experience. I feel like itās weird to even say that this is what it was. But it was and it really sucks to go through it š«.
Hotel price was good for the location needed, they have a pool, complimentary hot breakfast buffet, the rooms were nice. Aside from an ant problem in room 203- which housekeeping should notify for further maintenance. And the pool area is small and needs more ventilation for the chlorine, super strong and seeks in the hotel hallways. Just a thing to keep in mind for kiddos or any with breathing issues etc.
For every few good reviews thereās always a negative. And Iām bummed to be one of those negatives but I know we wonāt be the last ones to experience those specific employees. They represent this hotel, so without names if you go through it too, Iām so sorry. That breakfast attendant and front desk attendant so said she is also the front desk āmanagerā should not represent this hotel and maybe even the tag along employees. But if they are all friends with friends those higher up too, then this will forever be a thing. If they donāt like blended people or people of any color then they win right? Because they treated us with disrespect, now we wonāt return and thatās what they want (Or I feel it is )Thatās a thing some businesses do or employees do š„ŗ all we could do was treat them with respect, smiles and didnāt say anything while mistreated or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had a wedding block at this hotel for 10 months prior to our wedding. We pre-paid for a room for our pastor and our DJ in January and in April. Upon checking in to our hotel, the room, smelled of pet urine really bad to the point where we could not even walk in. I called the front desk and they agreed to move us to the room next-door. They were going to comp our room since we were the bride and groom and sold out our whole wedding block. Upon checking out, we realized that they had accidentally charged our card for three rooms. Our room was comped, and we had already paid for our DJ and Pastor so nothing should have been charged. Three weeks later, we realized that they had charged $1300 to our card. I spent several days talking to the manager Jacqueline, the general manager, Lydia, and the Director of sales Rebekah And nobody would help us. Eventually after sending them receipts of my bank statement and receipts of paying for the room back in January and April, They agreed to refund two charges of $266 each. They said that they would refund the rest of the money and here we are almost a month later and itās still not in my bank account. I emailed the CEO and the customer service email and nobody has ever replied. I would run far away from this hotel. You think that you might be saving a buck but in the end they will triple charge you for rooms that you didnāt even stay in so you will be paying so much more! I was not the only one in my wedding block that had issues with being double charged, and even triple charged. They are not helpful...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was my first time visiting Laporte, and I stayed at this property just north of town. Overall, it was all one would expect from a Hampton Inn. Room was comfy as was the bed. Upgraded TV (at least 55") with decent selection of channels (it was rainy so usual reception problems with rain). I like the USB ports right by bedside. Water pressure and temperature was very good. The only small issue i have is with the pool being closed. I book exclusively where there is a gym and pool so I can keep up my fitness routine. Breakdowns happen, but the property should remove photos of the pool and make a note on the booking site (Expedia) that the pool is out of order. It was non-refundable, so there was no chance to back out. Not a huge issue for me, but some families al;so book only where there are pools and a lot of kids may be disappointed. The gym was adequate but it had a sign indicating that it doesn't open until 6 am. This is extremely late for those of us who do a one-hour workout and need time for breakfast and shower before 8 am. appointment. I did go in a 5:30 a.m. and the key card worked, and to their credit, no one kicked me out. There is no reason this could not be 24 hours, or at least open at 5. Gym is small but everything was in good working condition. More than good to maintain fitness. Front desk personnel were very friendly, and every one of the housekeeping staff was also very friendly and smiled and waved every time i passed. I would stay here again, but I would call ahead next time to check...
