I can't say enough good things about this hotel and it's owner/operators, Jonathan and Andrew. They have done an amazing job from top to bottom. No detail has been overlooked. It is a testament to the fact that you can have a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location and still set yourself miles apart with an amazing staff and wonderful service. Form the moment we arrived, we were made to feel special. Everyone had a smile on their face and did everything they could to make us feel welcome. One of the hotel owners, Andrew, picked us up himself from the ferry. Another hotel employee, Noemi, offered to drive us down personally to the car rental facility near the ferry in the middle of her shift. Limited and, at the time in short supply, Waiheke oysters were offered preferentially to us when supplies got low because we were hotel guests. It felt like a small family.
The rooms are comfortable and incredibly well designed. We stayed in room 2, which has one of the two balconies in the hotel and from which you can see the ocean. anything you need is a quick phone call away. Or you can just pop your head outside and ask someone at the restaurant for help...there are no shortage of willing participants. Even the cooks in the kitchen offered to help from time to time.
As I said, I cannot say enough and could go on forever. If you want to know more, please just message me. I am happy to go into much greater detail. But the bottom line - I recommend this hotel without reservation...to anyone...go as much as you...

Holiday Inn Express and Suites – Carrizo Springs, TX
For those of us who work the oil patch in South West and South Central Texas our days are spent galloping from one site, one rig, one company to another. Pull in, do our job, then back on the horse to the next rodeo. Holiday Inn has done a great job of establishing the perfect way stations along the way. Each one a classic Holiday Inn – each one surprisingly different in décor and “feel.” So to continue this Pony Express tour the next stop along the way is Carrizo Springs, TX.
Perched on the far Western edge of the Eagle Ford Shale Play – Carrizo Springs is literally on the frontier of the oil patch – a welcome oasis in the miles of South Western desert.
Like all of the Holiday Inn Express’s that I’ve stayed in the rooms are spotless, pillows and beds superb – don’t know where they get those pillows but they are fantastic. Carrizo Springs has an excellent pool and gazebo where you can watch the Texas sky bloom with stars. The amenities are reliable; the water pressure is good and the water hot. So as this old sailor turns his Honda prairie schooner North East, heading home to Houston – I leave a place of cheerful people, great sunsets, fine scotch, and a good cigar – until I...
Read moreFor the price, I expected much more from this location. I work out frequently in hotel fitness centers and this one was HOT in temperature. I informed front desk and they called it in to the "owner" or manager and all they did for me was open the door of the gym so that the air from the hallway could circulate in. I was fainting from the heat exhaustion so I stopped my workout early. Then, I went to my room to freshen up and there was NO conditioner in the shower complimentary bottles so I only used shampoo (my hair needs conditioner so I was disappointed again). Then I got settled in and ready to relax before calling it a night and the TV did not work. I called front desk again and then came over to check it out but no resolution. I was not going to move to another room at that hour (8:30pm) so I just let it be. OVERALL, VERY DISAPPOINTED. Not a good...
