Just went here over the weekend and had a great time. I do recommend booking much in advance because it does get full. The campsites are decent sizes and can definitely hold a couple of large tents There are fire pits and usually a seperate grill as well. But the fire pits do have grates over them too. They sell firewood for cheap also $5 a bundle. Some campsites had good trees for shade but not all so be prepared it gets hot in the summer time. Tons of critters around to welcome us 😄 squirrels, chipmunks, wood peckers but there are also red ants just be careful if you walk barefoot a lot or have children. The park rangers are so sweet and helpful. There is a nature center that has cool interactive spaces for kids and they do this Saturday night group for kids mostly, it’s fun and educational. They have a HUGE playground by the entrance of the park. They also have tons of trails to hike from a few miles long to like 20 miles it’s pretty cool. They have water spigots some are switched off to conserve water but there are usually a couple close to each campsite. The bathrooms are in one area you do have to walk to for vault toilets but there are portable potties closer if you’re okay with that. The showers have been closed though. All in all it’s a great place to camp and especially if you have kids There were tons of kids playing around it was nice to see all the...

Family Friendly camping. The staff was amazing and helpful. They didnt have any wood to buy when we came but gave us a list of local vendors we could buy from including the local grocer 7 miles down the road. No re-entry fees. Park was clean and good location for family with small children. The playground is huge and amazing. The bathrooms are slightly far on the lower side of the park at 4 am but they have port-a-pottys spread all over the area. They also have many water faucets close by to most of the sites as well as covered trashcans. The only con I could find was the no alcohol.. but if you're not rowdy and out of control.. you can def get around it with discretion. Tons of flies and yellowjackets but we had no issue living with them and used minor bug spray. Nature center is nice and has very friendly staff. On Saturday night we got a special treat when the OC Astronomy Club came by and set up telescopes. It was amazing for the kids. Cant wait to camp...

Great campground for families. Trails are plentiful and well maintained. Bathrooms are clean for a campground and showers are available when CA is not in a drought. The nature center is great for kids and they typically have some cool events on Saturday evenings in the summer. I would recommend scoping the property out before booking a site as some of the sites are more secluded or private and shady than others. It is best to book well in advance as the good sites tend to be booked months in advance; especially Fridays and Saturdays. No outside wood is allowed and must be purchased at the gate. The real one downside to this park is no dogs are allowed. They do have equestrian campgrounds for those with horses though. The wildlife, friendly rangers, and well kept campgrounds are great reasons to bring the family out for the night to...

love this camp ground! Ronald Caspers Regional Park is far enough from civilization to see some serious stars but close enough to run and get pizza for dinner and coffee for breakfast. try and get a campsite along the usually dry river bed. 4 stars because they haven’t had water for the past 6 months. we camped here summer and winter 2021, and just visited today January 2022. Some equestrian group came through some months ago and emptied their reservoir and left nothing for everyone else. nature center has great info on the park and helpful informative staff. the playground and the nature walk are perfect for kids. woodpeckers are everywhere and we’ve seen red tailed hawks, barn owls and great horned owls. no pets allowed.
