Details & Factual Comments (No Opinions)
Location. Rating: 4 / 5 The Estate on Lake Travis is a remote property in Lago Vista, TX reaching out to Lake Travis (or Colorado River). The neighborhood appears friendly. Below are the closest amenities: • Grocery Store: SLR Grocery & Center (~5 miles / 10 min) • Pharmacy: CVS (~7 miles / 15 min) • Police Station: Lago Vista Police Department (~4 miles / 10 min) • Fire Station: Travis County ESD Fire Station (~4 miles / 8 min) • Hospital: Baylor Scott & White Clinic (~5 miles / 10 min)
Concern 1: One neighbor will continuously attempt to dictate how you conduct your event at this property. Additionally, this individual will come onto the property at various times without permission. Concern 2: The area is quite apart from on-going housing construction.
Property. Rating: 2 / 5 This estate is large enough for a medium sized event (approximately 80 people). There are a total of five living spaces (which will house approximately 40 people): Game Room, Main House, Cottage Suite 1, Cottage Suite 2, and Guest House. (Each of these will be discussed further in later sections.) This property comes equipped with WIFI, a security system (with cameras), nest thermostats, and solar energy. Additionally, this estate runs on a septic system and accommodates one RV w/ a 110 V hook-up (attaching to the Guest House).
Concern 3: Visitors (not actual guests) misunderstanding or lack of concern for a septic system. Concern 4: RVs require 220 V (without a converter) to use AC or heating. Concern 5: All bunk beds being too low to the ground for elderly. Concern 6: Minimal handicapped accessibility. Concern 7: Minimal amount of face cloths. Concern 8: Few or lack of ironing board(s). Problem 1: Multiple outdoor outlets did not function. This hinders set-up for any outdoor venues. Recommendation 1: Additional mirrors across the living areas. Recommendation 2: Add ceiling fans to each bedroom. Recommendation 3: Updated advertisement pictures are a necessity to match the current configuration for both exterior and interior of the estate. Perk 1: The mattresses are quite comfortable. Perk 2: Plenty of parking for up to a medium-sized event (≤80 people) Perk 3: The lakeview is gorgeous during the mornings and evenings.
Front Yard. Rating: 3 / 5 The front of the estate is fairly decorated and landscaped. There are two driveways into the property. The first is a straight driveway to access the rear of the estate. The second is a u-shaped driveway for ease of unloading through the main entrance or valet parking for your event. A select number of small trees are spread across the front of the property.
Concern 9: The flag pole is inoperable but has potential for...

Ratings (1-Unacceptable, 2-Poor, 3-Average, 4-Good, 5-Excellent) Exterior Restroom. Rating: 4 / 5 The Exterior Restroom comes with a sink and a toilet.
Concern 15: The step down into this restroom (even with warning) can be a hazard to youth and elderly.
Pool. Rating: 3 / 5 The Pool is medium sized with depths ranging from 4 – 10 feet. This area can be lit with exterior and interior lighting for night activities. Additionally, this pool can be heated at an additional cost.
Concern 16: The pool was littered with leaves (floating and at the bottom) upon arrival. Resolution 2: The pool maintenance company came later that evening to clear out that area without having to contact management. Perk 5: This is the number one area the guest & visitors enjoyed.
Gazebo. Rating: 2 / 5 The Gazebo comes with a table with six chairs and a large charcoal grill.
Problem 8: None of the grill area was cleaned prior to arrival. Perk 6: This is one of the most popular areas (second to the pool) for guests & visitors to hang out.
Boat House. Rating: N/A We could not reach or survey the boat house due to low water levels and inaccessibility due to detachment.
Management. Rating: 2 / 5 The manager for this property is Robert Lopez.
Problem 9: Accessibility to management is deficient. There are times where responses to questions and/or concerns about the estate will go days without a response (or not response at all).
Communication. Rating: 1 / 5 The two means of communication for this property is the manager’s cell phone and the administrator’s email.
Problem 10: The means of communication to management and/or owners is not sufficient. There needs to be an instant response system in place for any issues/concerns that the renters can depend on. Empathy and consideration for the guests/visitors is not given the...
Read moreMy Family and I rented the Estate on Lake Travis through VRBO earlier this month. I'm not sure what the other lady was talking about, when she mentioned broken pool furniture...I was there this past weekend and all of the furniture was not only functional but was nicer than the usual place we go to hand out and swim. The pool is a bit old, but it was obvious there have been some repairs done. It looks nice, but honestly...we were right on the lake. We spent most of the time in the lake, and it was really just the small tots that were in the pool.
We did inquire about the boat, and we rented it. REALLY NICE BOAT! It has captain seating in the front, super comfy sofa seating throughout, and it had some get up and go, I think it was a 150HP engine on it. The sound system was good as well. I'd definitely recommend renting the boat. Sarah, the booking concierge, did ask if we would be using the boat. At first we declined as we weren't sure how nice it was, but once we saw it, we had to! She did initially inform us that the owner sometimes lets his Family use the boat if it's not rented out. But we didn't have any issues.
The best thing about the property is how open it is....just gorgeous. Plenty of deer wondering about in the mornings and evening. All the rooms were clean when we arrived, and it showed really well. This was perfect for our Family get together and I'll be back with a group of friends sometime in the future for sure. Lago Vista is just such a relaxed...
