Beautiful tent in Lake George! PROS: -We lucked out and had the area mostly to ourselves. Only one other tent was occupied and it was out of view. IMO, if the tents were full and you happened to be close to another one, it would detract from the seclusion. -We stayed at #10 and it seemed to be the most private and offered a Mountain View - distant Pikes Peak. Really awesome sunset and moonrise. -Beds were extremely comfortable with premium bedding and blankets. -Food is definitely undersold. Our meals arrived on time with more than enough food. Everything seemed to be homemade and it was all great! -The outdoor gas fire pit made things so easy. It was nice to be able to crank up a fire right away and get warm. There is a gas space heater and wood stove inside. We only needed the space heater. -Golf carts were fun for exploring, getting to bathrooms quickly, and making us feel like we were really leaving our car behind. -Bathroom was clean and I think even cleaned again during our stay. Nice to have a dedicated room so we could leave our toiletries and night gear there. -The resort shares a lot of other things you can do in the surrounding area, but to be honest, there is so much hiking you can do on grounds. We saw a lot of wildlife and emerging flora and really had fun just hanging out. -The staff. Friendly, helpful, available, knowledgable. Everyone we encountered was fantastic. They offered a walkie-talkie radio in case you needed something, but we never used it. I'm sure if we did, they would have accommodated. Everyone clearly wants you to enjoy your stay and be comfortable. CONS: -We wish we knew we could add a tip for the staff at the end of the trip. Instead, we went into town once for cash after running out so we could tip every time someone came up (or midday if we missed the morning). We didn't feel right about not tipping as we went... -For the price of the stay, it would be nice if a bottle of house wine was included with each dinner. It's a pricey rate as is, so adding $55 for each bottle of wine adds up. That being said, the wine choices were great. No Barefoot here. =) -We were given a wifi passcode but wifi didn't reach the tent. We liked disconnecting, but there was a time before leaving that we were planning our Pikes Peak drive and it would have been nice to have wifi in the tent. I took the golf cart back to the home base/bathroom area and downloaded the maps from there. No biggie, but probably should be explained.

WOW!!! The stay, service, and food were all amazing. I looked at a bunch of other glamping places, but this one stood out to me because of the full private bathrooms and it included all of our meals. I also love how the tents were all very spread apart, so there was quite a bit of privacy. The golf carts were awesome, since our tent was quite a ways from the bathroom. Our beds were very comfortable and we stayed very warm during the night. The food was fantastic! We had ribs our first night and they were very tender. I also highly recommend the salmon, which was perfectly cooked. All of the food was fresh and freshly cooked! The portions were huge and we were definitely full after every meal. I asked for a surprise birthday cake to be delivered with dinner and it was very delicious too. The entire staff were all very friendly and super helpful. Everyone was very kind and worked very hard to make sure we had a good experience. They even delivered our food during a thunderstorm. We were 5 minutes from Eleven Mile Reservoir, so we packed our fishing gear and spent some time there. We went horse back riding, which was fantastic. The horses were very tame and easy to control. We also got massages in our tent and the massage therapists did a great job. Since we stayed here in July, it was pretty warm during the day in the tent and sprinkled in the evening. A fan would have been nice. We never requested one, so maybe its something they offer and we didnt know. We just spent our time relaxing in the hammocks around the property during the day. We also spent much of the day at the lake anyways. One thing that was a nuisance were the flies that would get into our tent in the mornings and we couldnt figure out how they were getting in. It isnt something the resort could control and very much apart of the camping experience. A fly swatter would be a great addition to the room. It really didnt take away from our excellent experience here. Some tips: Bring some hand/body wipes. Its nice to wipe your hands down before eating snacks without having drive the golf cart to the bathrooms. Bring bug spray if you're allergic to mosquito bites. Mosquito arent usually an issue, but it has rained quite a bit here. They do have citronella candles in the tent, which is helpful. This is definitely camping, but you dont have to worry about the set up, the food, or using the bathroom outdoors. 10/10 would recommend!

We just returned from our weekend at blacktree and the reviews were right this place is something special. First, check out their website it explains exactly what to expect inside and outside of your tent and the resort in general. As other reviewers have stated, the resort is owned by husband and wife team Nabil and Cindy who are both amazing and really try to make sure you have everything you need. I’m pretty sure they don’t get much sleep because they are ALWAYS there. This was our first glamping experience, my BF and I went camping about a month ago and I really struggled with, let’s call it the bathroom “situation”. I enjoyed everything else about our camping trip except for that and the amount of stuff we needed to pack even though we were driving from home to the campsite. I had heard of glamping before but we had never tried it. After that trip I started looking for glamping places and chose blacktree for 3 reasons. 1. The great reviews 2. You get your own private full bathroom(YEEEEES). 3. Meals are included in the price. So basically you get the same awesome experience of camping and being one with nature, but all you have to bring is clothes and you can take a shower lol.

Some highlights and things to note: I feel like it is important to mention that the food is really good. GET THE BBQ! When you book you are sent a menu with some options for bfast, lunch and dinner. We got the bbq the 2nd night and fajitas the first night. The bbq (ribs and chicken) came with Mac and cheese, corn, and a roll super yummy. You can also purchase alcohol, it is the only thing not included in the price but is priced very reasonably. We had pitchers of margs and beer both days. There is a propane fire pit outside, pretty smart because CO gets so many fire bans and this way you can always have a fire pit option (fire bans are for wood burning fires outside) Inside the tent there is a wood burning stove. In the evening the temp drops to about 40 so you need the stove! My advice is to start it about an hour before bed time with its door closed and close the tent. This gets your tent nice and warm for bedtime without getting it smoky. Make sure to check your bed and pillows for bugs still before bed like when you camp normally! You are still outside in the middle of nature so there are still bugs that may somehow sneak into your tent! I think I forgot to mention you get your own golf cart to explore the grounds and go from your tent to your private full bathroom which is really clean and nice. I don’t think it is mentioned on the website, but because the bathrooms aren’t by your tent (they are still pretty close and take 2 mins to drive to in the golf cart), they also have really fancy bathroom trailer things( no idea what the actual name is) situated between the tents. Ours was right across from our tent. They are also really nice, somehow have sinks and make it so that if you have to go in the middle of the night you have a clean restroom close to your tent. We took the advice of another reviewer and downloaded movies before we went. We didn’t even watch them, but it is a great idea because there is no cell service on the grounds. I loved this because it made me feel like I was actually on vacation. No texts, calls, or work emails lol. You get a walkie talkie in the tent to be able to contact the desk of you need anything.

Lastly, email or call them if you have any questions at all. I expressed my fear of heights via email and asked for activity suggestions in lake George and Nabil happily gave us options of things to do and trails that would work for hiking even if you’re afraid of heights. We ended up going to the national park 5 mins away(there is cell service there)and it was gorgeous. The trail is low enough for kids, dogs and me lol...but the view is still amazing. Nabil if you happen to read this thank you so much! This was a much needed relaxing vacation for us.

Ps. The tents are far away from each other by camping standards. We couldn’t see or hear our...

Don’t hesitate — just book it now! Every thoughtful detail and accommodating staff member made this experience truly unforgettable.

I love glamping and my husband is a seasoned backpacker, so we’ve experienced our fair share of the outdoors but bringing kids into the mix can add extra work.

The all inclusive amenities are a unique attribute that really sets this glampsite apart:

Food: I’ve never had such delicious meals outdoors! I’m talking hot delicious meals I’d enjoy even not camping (like perfectly juicy salmon teriyaki are you kidding me?!). The menu has many options and the quality of the food was top notch.

Our large group requested quite a bit of extra snacks and food items throughout the day (glamping with 11 kids is no joke) and the staff was so gracious about it at all hours.

The extensive drink and dessert options kept our bellies very happy! Not having to worry about packing milk for my 1 and 3 year old was a huge relief. Also very impressed how fast they could whip up everything.

Bathrooms: Loved the concept of having private, coded bathrooms assigned per tent. All the included amenities were on par to a hotel. I was pleasantly surprised staff tidied up bathrooms daily with fresh towels always on hand.

Located in a communal building accessible by an easy golf cart ride from the tents. They also set up shared, elevated porta-potty type stalls throughout the campgrounds for added convenience. I’m in the middle of potty training my 3 yo and had no issues with their convenient setup.

Tents: Spacious, comfy beds, heating option (although we didn’t need it), and convenient ports available to charge electronics. Also provided a walkie talkie to reach staff at any hour. Cold water basin refilled daily + trash can emptied nightly. Easily fit my travel crib with plenty of space for my kids to walk/crawl around. Felt like there was sufficient privacy and wasn’t too noisy even surrounded by other families with kids.

Golf carts: highlight for my son and husband so figured it’s worth a mention! Every tent was assigned a personal golf cart which made it fun and easy to hang out at other people’s tents and explore the property.

Activities: so much to do within driving distance and the staff can easily point you in the right direction based on your interests. I live in CA and was just in awe of how scenic it is no matter where you look. Kids had a blast exploring the campgrounds.

Also have to emphasize the staff were so gracious with the kids. Hard to find vacay places 100% accommodating without worrying about stirring a commotion. But Cindy even went out of her way to buy extra water guns for our group to have fun. I’ll never forget how comfortable they made us feel because traveling with young ones is already challenging enough.

TL;DR Amazing all-inclusive food and amenities, the most gracious staff, safe clean environment filled with activities to keep kids entertained. Felt like I could just show up and soak in the Colorado beauty without worrying about common travel/camping inconveniences. By far my favorite glamping experience and I know it’ll be yours too!

Thank you Cindy, Nabil, and your incredible team (shoutout to Trent!) for an unforgettable stay celebrating our best friends. We’ll fondly reminisce about this trip for the rest...

Great mid range price for glamping. This place is about an hour west of Colorado Springs and is pretty isolated, but only about a 5 minute car ride from eleven mile marina, which has great fishing, the ability to rent boats, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. The camp site is very well maintained by its small and extremely personable staff. It is family owned and you feel the pride and care. because this is glamping, you arrive and are greeted when you drive up. You are checked in, by the owner or his wife, assigned a golf cart to get around the site, and the staff unloads your car and takes your bags up to your luxury tent. They also take you dinner order upon arrival. The menu is a little limited, but is well executed, and they will make adjustments as requested, especially if you have special needs. Make sure to request in advance so they can prepare for you. Each meal is brought to your tent and you can eat inside or outside at the time of your choosing. If you are going on day excursions, they will pack your breakfast and lunch as needed. Our favorite dish was the fajitas and the grilled items as a whole. They do a good job of matching the menu to the camping experience. Now the tents and facilities. The tents are built solidly with a canvas second roof to keep water and snow from getting the site wet. The bed are comfortable, which is very nice. There is a wood burning furnace inside of the tent which allows you to stay warm on cold nights if you like, i mean you are camping with the option of how much nature you want to deal with. We were able to comfortably sleep 4 in a two queen bed tent. As mentioned. There are 2 tables to eat from. One of which is inside. This is a great space for playing games, or cards as a group at night. There is good solar powered lighting in each tent. Next to the tent is a propane fueled fire ring that is great for stargazing, eating dinner around. Enjoying some of the alcoholic beverages that they serve (beer. Wine. Cocktails to your liking). Again, these are all brought to you by staff that you can reach via walkie-talkie. Lastly, there are very good bathroom facilities. There are well maintained and very clean portables closer to your tents, and then there is a full bathroom with toilet, sink, and shower, with towels and soaps for your use. Like the towels and soaps, there is good quality TP, which is always a nice luxury. If you are not into roughing it and would like a good quiet getaway, I highly recommend Black Tree. You are paying for the introductory camping experience, the amenities of room service and warm showers, and of course great scenery, hiking, and fresh air unlimited. If you are worried about COVID. The staff wears masks, they sanitize any shared space and equipment, and each bathroom is for your tent only. The tents are very generously spaced as well. This was a great trip, a fantastic experience, and made me feel like it was a good value. One side note, try to remember that all of these guys and gals working here seem to be awake and serving you all day. Although not required, a good tip for the staff would be a great way to appreciate their efforts. They...
