Immediately greeted by owners Pennie and Stan. Pennie gave us so much information of the area with highlights on a personal made map. We appreciate cash only businesses with no hassles and extra fees. Our site was well maintained and plenty long enough for our fifthwheel. Small amount of full hook up but offer pump outs on other sites with very new/clean equipment. Some road noise but not bad from inside RV. Pennie and Stan invited us for bonfire which was very welcoming and appreciated. Every day we saw Pennie she asked if we were having a great time....love that! Loved that being their home, watched everyone coming and going, a perk in our opinion and always available. Very close to Two Harbors and Duluth to catch the big freighters coming and going. Lots of biking & hiking area either at Duluth or State Parks near by. Lots of eatery and shops. Beautiful area, thank you Pennie and Stan for a wonderful week! We camped at Penmarallter Campsite in a Fifth Wheel.

We loved the convenient location! The highway noise is minimal, especially at night. We appreciated the bathrooms, showers, dumpster for garbage, the owner’s willingness to provide a dump service while you’re away for a minimal fee was great and they also have a separate dump station. We camped with a party of two adults, one adult and child, and two families of 4. Bring your outdoor games - they have a large field where you can play a variety of games. Our overall experience was great! The FYI and campground rules sheet was very handy. As long as you’re respectful of the owners and their rules you’ll have a great experience like us!

Smaller private Campground just south of Two Harbors. Larger size pull through sites allowing up to a good 40 foot trailer. We have driven by this campgrounds many times, but it is our first time staying there. The grass is very green we enjoyed our stay, the owners were very friendly. The one thing is you're going to hear the traffic noise from Highway 61 during the day. By evening the noise is almost nonexistent. Good location to get too many attractions and or Duluth.

If you have no friends, no family, no pets, hate to leave your camper, and want to tiptoe around two mean spirited hosts, this is the place for you! The hosts lay in wait to yell at everyone. It's not reprimanding because of campers breaking rules, it's an all out acostment for the most inane things. The ongoing yelling all day usually starts with a mean character comment toward the camper, then proceeds with both of them yelling, "YOURE GOING TO HAVE TO LEAVE!" At first, we honestly thought it was a joke as it's so over the top. It's like an SNL sketch. We watched as they did this to all the campers around us, and then it was our turn to be in their sites. We had a couple stop by to visit and they waited in the driveway as the signs direct guests to do. After a long wait, without anyone showing up, our friends came to our campsite with plans to check in at a later point. (We were right across from the hosts' home. ) Pennie came storming across her yard and read us the riot act. We couldn't get a word in edgewise and we're more than happy to be compliant. She looked at our friend eating a bag of chips and made a cutting remark about the fact that he was eating. It was bizarre, but laughable. They were always watching every move when we were walking around with our grand daughters. I would not want to stay here with kids. One evening, we came back from a community concert at 10:30. We had two sleeping toddler grandchildren and we were quietly getting them out of the car, Pennie showed up like a mad woman out of nowhere with a flashlight and yelled at us about the 10P curfew and a string of other nonsense things. The girls woke up scared to death of her yelling and they started crying and the whole thing became a debacle out of nothing. We're old folks and not out to cause any problems. We packed up and left the next morning. They can keep the check, I would rather stay at a truck stop parking lot. |Thank goodness for Buffalo Valley Campground. An extremely family and pet friendly place and lots of room to roam. We had the best two...

LABOR DAY WEEKEND BUST The woman that owns this place is harassing and very rude, unfortunately, her husband is kind but we will not be going back nor will my family. The gentleman kindly escorted to our site late Thursday. We had asked to be next to my sister but that wasnt granted although we asked and reminded them several times prior to arrival. We forgot to pay the balance so not accepting CC and not wanting to disturb them Thursday night, I went up on my own to the office Friday morning and told Peggie ,the owner, I did not have my checks and I will get her cash Friday afternoon after we return from Duluth. She said ok! Thanks for letting her know and I was so nice for doing so (her words). We chit chatted for 20 mins about her personal life. In this nice conversation she had to tell me she doesnt like when people arrive late too. We got back from Duluth Friday early evening and the min we arrived she was at our site asking where the money was and why we didn't sign the guest book. I said we chatted for 20 min yesterday and you never asked to sign but you gave me a car pass. She said we had to do so immediately. Sunday we spent the day away from the camper. Upon arrival back to the site I found a STICKY NOTE on my door saying "I picked up dog poop in your site. PEGGIE." I immediately went to the office to ask her about the note because we hadn't been there all day and she said when she was parking the neighbors camper and she almost stepped in dog poop. She said it was by the door of the neighbors truck and then she said it was by our yard Game. I was confused on which one and said it wasn't ours because we follow all her rules and pick up after our dogs. She said "I never said it was yours" - well, why did I get the note, now, very confused I left. We left Monday morning and will not...
