What was supposed to be a great round of golf on our 3rd day of playing different courses in the Ozarks turned out to be a terrible experience thanks to Dave (pictured) and Tom. Between these 2 course Nazis we were rushed the whole time by the GPS on the carts, the ranger, and by Tom and Dave the whole time we golfed. We went aloud to have a 5-some so they split us up and paired 2 of our guys with 2 guys that work at the course. We got our carts locked up by their GPS system multiple times and once one of our carts was locked solid for over 10 minutes. Thank goodness some local members came along and called the office and got us unlocked so we could continue playing. Mind you, this got locked up on a cart path. We offered to let the locals play through and they wouldn't. They said they weren't in a hurry and to take our time as it was our first time here. The cart GPS kept telling us to pick up our pace. One of our guys was so mad about being paired up with the course workers her wanted to leave at the end of 9 holes so the other guy wanted to join us at the turn to make us a 4-some. So at the turn we came to the clubhouse and talked to the cart guys and told them what was going on and asked if it would be a problem if we waited. They said no problem, go inside and grab a beverage and a bite to eat and they would get us going after they joined us and make the back 9 a better experience. We went in and grabbed a bite, which was a very overpriced dried out burger and a Powerade (no alcohol was consumed by our group the whole day BTW). As I was eating my dried out burger Nazi Dave came over and told us we needed to get back out there. I explained we were waiting to pick up our 4th guy and he still barked that we needed to get moving. Meanwhile the locals that were behind us came into the clubhouse and were offered a menu by the staff to order from. We go outside and as our guys come up the hill. Before we could even see what was going on Tom comes out on the deck and starts telling us to either get back out there or leave. He had 3 holes with no one on them so if we were going we needed to go now. I tried to explain what was going on and he said he didn't care he had 3 holes that needed to be filled. We proceeded as a 3-some to the next hole and our other 2 decided to continue to play with the course workers as well. We then started playing a best ball format to help speed up our play. We were playing at a fast clip and yet the cart GPS kept telling us we were behind and needed to pick up the pace. On one of the back holes a ranger came by and said "hey, Dave called him and said you are doing a good job with your pace" and yet our cart keeps telling us we were 11 minutes behind pace. Now, here's some fun info, while we are playing we saw 2 5-somes and even a 6-some playing the course! There was also no one behind us for several holes and no one ahead of us ether. We kept up our best ball pace and on the 8th hole we finally came up on a 4-some. We had to wait on them to finish their hole only to find out it was our other 2 guys and the course workers that somehow got ahead of us and we caught them. We finished our round and went back to the clubhouse to find our guys had 2 more holes to play still. I went into the clubhouse to the pro shop and waited until no one else was in there to talk to Dave about our experience. I informed him that they have a great course, the cart guys, ranger and bar staff were friendly but because of him and Tom we would never be back to play this course! The two of them made this a miserable experience! There were so many ways this could have been handled and still make it a fun day but they choose to be dicks the whole time. I guess they are just sour on life because they didn't have what it takes to be a professional golfer on tour and they have to take it out on the rest of us and show everyone that they are the big shots around there. Well, Tom and Dave, I will never be back and I'll make it my mission to let everyone I come in contact with know about you and how you...
Read moreGreat course ruined by overbooking and slow play. Expect a 6+hr round and no chance at finishing a 2nd round in a day.
We didn't even get to finish our round because of how stacked up they had us. When we pulled up to the first hole of the links course there was a foursome on the green, foursome in the fairway, foursome on the tee box getting ready, our foursome next in the queue and not exaggerating 12 more carts behind us.
They were having an employee tournament, some team red vs team black business. At one point one of them apologized for the slow play (20 minutes per hole! ) and let us know bragging rights were on the line. That's right bragging rights, I paid $165 for a day of golf and looked forward to this trip for 8 months and it went down the toilet do to poor management. Every course I have ever been to closes for a tournament. If management cared at all for the customers or the employees this would never have been done.
Arnold did a great job designing it. It is a beautiful course. Fairways are excellent the greens fast, and the bunkers are large but have gravel in the sand.
Ultimately my my personal experience was unforgivable d/t...
Read moreBooked a tee time a month in advance, we had a 5th that was not gonna play but follow us and pay a cart fee. Called pro shop to confirm this was doable for a Saturday tee time. Was told by the attendant that answered the phone that this wouldn’t be a problem. Booked the tee time fast forward we drive all the way from Memphis to play an Arnold Palmer course and get there just to be told we couldn’t have our 5th ride with and that they don’t allow ride alongs on Fridays or Saturdays… That was never mentioned in the original call to the pro shop. So instead of attempting to correct their mistake we were told we were essentially shit out of luck. The older guy and a balding guy were in the pro shop and were pretty rude wouldn’t even look us in the eyes while we were trying to figure the situation out. Course looked great but the staff unfortunately were rude and essentially unwilling to even attempt to make things right. Terrible experience, hope they aren’t rude like that...
