I really enjoyed my stay at Ole Mill in early October 2025. It was a perfect getaway for me and my dog - a time to relax, read, and enjoy the sounds and sights of nature. The owners were very accommodating, letting me borrow two flower vases for some dahlias that I spontaneously bought a few blocks away from the site. The tree house was clean, roomy for me and my little dog, and quiet. Although we were just a few feet from a country road and the owners' home was near to the site, the placement of the trees and apple orchard makes you feel like you are in the middle of the woods. The owners left some logs for the outdoor fire pit, there are PLENTY of utensils and grill tools for the outdoor grill, and there is a friendly, welcome sign hung in the kitchen to make you feel at home. The mini-fridge and freezer worked perfectly for my stay, and fit my fruit, salad, drinks, large coffee creamer, cheese, and "to go" food container that I brought with me so I didn't have to cook. The microwave also worked well, and their is a VERY cute barrel with two chairs around it to cozy up to and eat comfortably while watching a show (or having a romantic, candle-lit meal for couples). There is also a Keurig coffee maker with coffee, cream, and sugar. There is a coded door entry so I felt very safe, and upon arrival, the owners sent me a very detailed text about how to enter the tree house, how to access Wi-Fi, and how to use the really innovative incinerator toilet. They also gave me a warning that the door locks upon closing, so I was careful to keep my phone on me until the code was memorized. There was plenty of toilet paper, makeup towels, and towels to take a bath in indoor sunken, claw-foot tub, or soak in the outdoor hot tub (I didn't get a chance to use the hot tub, but the indoor sunken tub was spotless and relaxing). There is a fireplace right next to the sunken tub, and they provide a little candle so you can really relax and be pampered in the tub. It's a good idea to bring some house slippers or shoes so you do not bring unwanted "nature" inside (pine needles, leaves, dirt, etc.). For people with arthritic knees (I am plagued with early arthritis in both knees after two knew surgeries from a severed ACL and several torn ligaments), the wide, spaced-out outdoor stairs to get from the parking area to the back of the tree house to access the main stairs to the tree house are difficult since there are no hand rails. However, luckily, there is a path without stairs on the other side of the tree house, and I was able to use that path to load/unload my bags, etc. The main stairs do have a railing (wrap-around deck), and they are much easier to use for people with some mobility disabilities. I will definitely be returning next year for a longer stay. There is a journal/guest book on the head board shelf above the bed. Please make sure to sign it and tell everyone about your stay. It will be fun to return next year and see my entry. The owners also provided a book that tells all about the creation of Deer Ridge and Ole Mill. I didn't get a chance to read it, but it's something to look forward to for my next visit. Outdoors the owners have a dinner "triangle," a birdhouse, and lots of other rustic, antique touches on the tree house. Inside there are also a lot of rustic items that add to the magic of this place. The apples in the orchard looked ready to pick, but I abstained from doing so. The bridge and waterwheel outside are really unique, and inside I saw a button for the waterwheel. I didn't use the button so I am not sure what it does - maybe there are lights on it. The wrap-around deck is covered with twinkle lights so you can find your way back after a late-night fire at the fire pit. This tree house would be great for a single occupant, a couple, or even parents with one to two children. There is a loft with a ladder that has a chair/play area, plus the children can sleep up their in sleeping bags. See the pictures attached.

Our family had a great time at the Mountain View Estate (located on the same property as the Treehouse Place). Tucked away on the country/farm-like side of Snohomish in a very secluded, yet peaceful location -this home was perfect. After a day of exploring, it was relaxing coming to the home and enjoy the spectacular mountain views, with occasional appearances by deers and rabbits. The kitchen is beautiful, housing all of your cookware essentials to show off your chef skills. From the board games, Legos, and the game room (with plenty of arcade games)- the kids had a blast! While we didn't have the opportunity to enjoy the hot tub nor the weight equipment (including the Peloton)- we truly enjoyed our stay. Know before booking: *The arcade is located in the basement and it's pretty chilly down there. *There are smart TVs in all bedrooms but no TV in the main common area. *The beds are super comfy *You'll have a peaceful night of sleep *Visit a few coffee spots (outside of the typical mainstream - ie: Starbucks) Note to owners: * Ensure the cleaning crew pay special detail to cleaning (we saw a few dog hair piles and one bathroom wasn't fully cleaned* Overall, we had a wonderful time and will definitely re-book when we return.

Highly Disappointed with the mountain view estate. The listing had a photo of an indoor arcade. All screens are lit up. We get there and two of the games have a blacked out screen with “out of order” written on it. We were really bummed out since those two games happen to be some of our favorites. The listing says “6 machines containing dozens of classic games are yours to enjoy free!”, and then only 4 work. Why wasn’t this updated in the description? We just feel a bit scammed. Contacted AIRBNB support and the host refused to refund me because I “didn’t report it to them”. If the ‘out of order’ stickers were already on the games wouldn’t they already know that? Give me a break. “Reporting” it would have done nothing. Also the tub in the bathroom by the room next to the stairs was dirty. Stay FAR away from here guys.

Are you looking for a place to run away from the world? A place that will let you disconnect but not be in complete isolation? A place that puts you in nature but you don’t have to sacrifice comfort or “rough it” in order to experience the great PNW? Then Joe and Cindy’s Treehouse Place at Deer Ridge is the place for you! The Ole Mill house is an awesome little house, that puts you into the middle of no where, but really 10-20 minuets down the road is the main town with a fabulous selection of restaurants, cafes, bakery’s and so much more. Back at the house you are truly up amongst the trees, and once you hit the stairs you are transferred to a completely different world that is all your own. The bed is comfortable enough to stay in all day. Or mix it up and climb up to the loft, where there is a very large, and excellent beanbag chair. Making it the ultimate place to read, or take a nap. Forgot your book? Don’t worry, they have a great selection of books to choose from! Spend your evenings out in the hot tub, or in the giant soaking tub at the foot of your bed. Wake up to true, lovely nature sounds and enjoy your cup of coffee looking out over the balcony to a fabulous view of the mountain side. The little fire place might not look like much, but it heats the place up quickly making it the most cozy spot you’ll ever be in. One night is not enough time to fully experience all the little treehouse has to offer. Joe and Cindy are fantastic hosts! Communicating every little detail you’ll need to know to be there, but also giving you all the space you need. If you end up needing anything they are quick to respond and will do whatever the can to help make your stay the best it can be. Don’t wait on this getaway! You won’t be disappointed and you won’t...
