The ranch is heaven on earth! Our family of four did not want to leave. The barn is the coolest Airbnb I’ve ever seen. We loved the open living area, the lighting, the view, the bedrooms, the animals, all of it! Catherine is a wonderful host. Her description of the space thoroughly prepared us for our stay, and we were welcomed with a s’mores kit on our arrival- such a lovely touch. She was so kind to us and so patient with all of our questions and wonderings about the animals.
The chickens wandered in the living area every day and we loved it. We also found tiny cute little frogs hanging out in the bathroom. This was a real plus for our 7 and 8 year olds! We all loved being so close to nature.
It was really hot, so we never had an issue with cold floors but I can see how you’d need slippers when it’s cold at night. The bedrooms were perfectly cooled with their own air conditioners, and the sound was very soothing and masked the rooster’s early wake-up calls. We were able to sleep in each day and were so relaxed the whole time.
I could write a book on how much fun we had. We did the Reese Ranch farm tour, and my kids got to hold 3-week-old baby goats, and they fed horses, a donkey, and baby cows. Every day we just wandered around the farm and watched the animals. The chickens were fascinating and so sweet. We watched them so much that we started to notice their personalities. We also spent a lot of time just watching the goats play. I had to drag my kids away from the goat pens each evening.

Finally having the courage to write this. I was absolutely heart broken. We arranged to have our wedding there, then COVID hit and we had to bump it a couple times. The financial impact from COVID made us decide to cancel and try doing something smaller like a backyard wedding as well as some serious health issues that had to take priority. I canceled about 6months in advance of date and the date was a Wednesday week day during off wedding season. The price was about 5k and I gave her a check 2k. I offered to pay her for her time however since the service of a wedding would not be provided you would think she would refund at least a portion of the deposit. She did not. What an amazing experience!
Catherine and her crew run a great operation. Clean rooms, bathrooms, etc. Being surrounded by all of the animals on the farm really put it over the top.
My girlfriend and I came from the Bay Area, so this really was a trip to get away from the noise and chaos of our urban existence. The farm did not disappoint.
Waking up to the call of a rooster every morning was awesome. Being able to interact with some of the animals was a real treat. The silence at night...Wow! And the star gazing. We were lucky enough to be there during a meteor event. Unreal!
