This was my third time at this campground. The scenery was fantastic even though the lake was low, the road wasn't too noisy. There was awesome wildlife to find such add rabbis and deer. My spots have always had water and power, so bring a long outdoor extension cord if you are tent camping. Lots of weeds though, walking barefoot is strongly advised against. The grounds are very dusty and not fully cared for, so wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty and potentially muddy. This can be worked around by getting a few tarps and outdoor rugs, you can lay on them. The host of this campground leaves much to be desired. It seems to be a family of sorts that lives at the entrance to the campground, the first spot on your left. They are super strict on their rules and policies, they are not professional and will at great length use colorful language against you or to describe your actions. I've been at the receiving end, on two of my visits and watched it happen to another at my most recent visit. The most recent visit they called the Sherrif on the person, which I was next site over, who explained the guy is just the way he is and me is just doing his job. Which is a bit of an excuse. I talked to the daughter who was left in charge by the way, about day passes for guest as my site. Her response "my mother never told me anything about that, she isn't here right now" and that is where the conversation ends, why was she left in charge if she doesn't know the job she was supposed to be in charge of? On one hand I suggest this place, but on the other, try not to need the host for anything, and just do your best to ignore their immature prattling. Other wise stay clear of this site, being harassed by this family isn't fun and can kill your...
Read moreIt is tough to rate this place so poorly as I would have given 5 stars for location alone but I did have concerns about how a few problems were handled. For this post i am not mentioning the occurences to protect identity and dignity. One thing I must mention about this place it is all about following the rules. As one who likes to camp I am always a girl with an eye for a bargain, when you arrive you have a beautiful view of bear lake and hole above floor outhouses with locks that are tended to, but you also pay for brutally honest management and harassment when said rules are not obeyed. Communication is not well established between the sheriff and management. It is family run, and the family members are NOT the ones to come to with concerns or asking questions about rental equipment or how much reservations are in other remote areas. I have stayed at this place two times, and each time surprised with how management runs the establishment with an iron fist, harsh words, inappropriate body language and harrasment until the matter is resolved. I may not own my own business, but I do understand how to have common courtesy, and if you follow the rules to a T and pay the fee upfront you are GOLDEN and will be left alone. There is a curfew of 10 pm and RV hookups. Wear comfy shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty or gritty. The view of the lake, opportunity to see wild animals and a short walk to all your needs is what you get...

The State Park website mentioned road work on Cisco Road but . . . The last four miles to the campground (from Laketown) is extremely rough and dusty. Then once in the campground you are only about 50 yards from the road that is undergoing major construction. It's like camping in the middle of a major construction project.
Aside from the road construction (and the heavy smoke throughout the area) it's not a very nice campground. The lower section (lakefront) are the best sites. The sites are very large (48 feet wide) but the front 30 feet are in a dip about 2 feet lower than the back section. The site is a mix of gravel, grass and weeds and there's a water outlet on...
