Minty and Lucille Vintage RV’s Review:
Note: Don’t expect the office store to have the ice, charcoal, firewood, or night crawlers they advertise.
We arrived at noon on Friday. We checked in and were told that we had been moved to RV’s we didn’t book on the other side of the amenities area right in front of the bathrooms. I’m talking 10 feet from our fire pit is the men’s bathroom, and you could hear the farts from restroom all night. Men were walking through our campsite to get there.
We paid an extra fee to choose our sites when booking to be close to the water and playground so we could see our small kids. Our view of these areas was completely blocked by the bathroom and shower building at the new sites. We were offered no refund on this amount, and were told that the RV’s we booked had a roof leak. Later, we saw someone had rented the RV’s we booked, and were there all weekend at the sites we paid extra to be on.
Upon unpacking into our RV, we found that we didn’t have towels, extra bedding for the sofa bed, or a coffee maker. So, I went and got those from the office, and they took a coffee maker from another RV.
Our RV smelled very strongly of urine. Twice, the staff told me it was from a previous tenant with 3 dogs, and that they couldn’t get rid of it. They apologized, and gave me skunk away spray that never worked. It was so bad we sneezed all night and everyone got congested.
Our friends didn’t have running water and had to have it connected. Water pressure was so low that it just trickled inside and leaked outside.
Our bedding wasn’t clean, and we had an ant infestation in both RV’s. Both TV’s in the RV’s didn't work.
I went and got more bedding in the morning and told them about the ants. We had to wait for the office to open get coffee cups and bowls from the store. Neither RV was stocked with dishes as advertised. We had one bowl in ours, and one coffee cup with bugs in it.
When I went to make the bed with the new bedding, they had given me a twin fitted sheet for a full bed. They didn’t have a clean full one. So, we ended up just laying on a flat sheet the second night. Super uncomfortable mattress. I said all weekend it was like a concrete egg carton.
We had no trash can, no TP, and no paper towels. We bought all that at a gas station.
The sleeper sofa in our RV was broken. You just rolled into the wall if you laid on it. We ended up having to take the mattress off the top bunk, and one adult and child slept on that tiny bed on the floor.
They offered to move us to another camper that only slept 4 of the 5 of us, but it never got cleaned after the tenants checked out on Saturday. No one spoke with us further after we brought all this to their attention Saturday morning and they made the offer to switch after one was clean. Then they closed the office early, and no staff was around.
The patio cover was sagging on the minty and you couldn’t stand under it. So we hung out at the Lucille camper.
The sink didn’t drain, and the toilet ran loud constantly. Right next to the bed.
The window shades were broken or missing in the RV’s. They brought a blanket to cover a window to give privacy for the kids from the construction workers at all the sites.
The window sill in the minty looks like termites are eating it.
The firepit area of one site was too overgrown to put chairs around it, and the one by the men’s bathroom had about 100 cigarette butts in it and chairs folded and laying on top of it dirty. We had to wash them to sit around the fire and clean out the firepit to use it.
If we hadn’t paid a non refundable amount of $660 for the 2 nights, we would have left. But, we stayed and chose to go out to dinner since we couldn’t utilize the kitchen for the meals we had planned for.
Needless to say we took off before 8am on Sunday after a sleepless night and multiple ant bites in bed.
Don’t waste your money on the vintage RV.
They should have refunded us for this fiasco, but instead, I was told to write a review, good or bad, and let them know what to fix when I brought this to...
Read moreThere were a few things that kept me from giving it a 5 star. First off i would like to say it is a very lovely place to get away from the covid blues. Its peaceful and quiet. You can breath out here. The staff was very nice. The park is clean and it has nice amenities for families. A definitely A++ from me. VERY LOVELY! However. We travel alot and feel their are a few suggestions that we would like to make. We stayed in the jetson. It was in a perfect location right next to the pool , laundry, bath house and club house. Most of the rentals were located very close to all of the amenities. The jetson is beautiful and in the inside it is remodeled so cute. Its pretty small but works. We live full time in an rv so not to many surprises by staying in the jetson. But the shower! Holy moly... This shower is tiny ... and i do mean tiny! It really only can accommodate a child or teen maybe a very small female otherwise it is useless space. I dont feel they advertised that well to give you proper warning. I'm sure they feel the onsite bath houses make up for that but no it doesn't for me. We paid $358 for 2 nights. If im going to pay premium price i want to be able to shower in what i rent. Their are beds for 4 people in the RV but they only give you 2 towels... please leave atleast 4 towels. At the end of the bunk beds there is about 2 foot of wasted space that could be used to make the shower significantly larger. In a small place every inch counts so my suggestion is to remodel the shower and use that space. If the water heater is in the way make a small closet outside the rv for that. Now on to the beds... they were extremely uncomfortable. You guys really need to upgrade your beds and pillows especially if were paying $358 for 2 nights. We had to put the bunk bed mattress on top of the big bed to try and get comfortable and that still didn't work. Then just some small suggestions.. a lint roller! When we came in the cute little grey couch and decorative pillows was covered in womans hair. I mean i get it us long haired beauties we shed lots of hair ... no biggie but just lint roller it up please. The check out instructions. If im comming to pay to stay at your place i really dont feel i should be responsible to take the trash out to the curb or strip the beds. I'm paying $358 for you to do that. I understood unplugging appliances and stuff like that.. you dont want the rv to catch fire but cleaning things should be ya'll responsible especially if your charging a cleaning fee Like most places are doing now. I saw the option for you to charge me a cleaning fee but i was never really clear if i got charged one or not. Also please make sure the dish washing soap is refilled especially if your expecting us to wash our own dishes. Ours was empty. Lucky i carry my own. EVEN AFTER ALL OF THAT... i would still be interested in staying hear again but only in one of the tiny homes after i verifying the shower can actually be used and the beds are atleast a little comfy. These are just suggestions i am by no means saying you shouldn't go enjoy this lovely place. I just wanted to give everyone an idea of what to expect and give the owners room to see if my suggestions are...
Read moreOne star because I cannot give it lower than that. I really wanted to have a great weekend here for my 50th birthday, however I felt extremely unwelcome.it started when I went to the front office in the am and kindly let them know that the window coverings were sheer and you could see through them so I needed the extra sheets to put in the windows for privacy and asked for more sheets. I was informed that they would drop them off sometime during the day for us . We got back late in the p.m. that night and still did not have the sheets that we had requested. I went back to the front… I wasn’t complaining I was merely stating why I needed extra bedsheets. I got the third degree by the owner as if my request was crazy and over the top… she repeatedly asked me to explain why I needed the sheets over and over and I felt as though providing the extra sheets were a major inconvenience for them… even though it was a major inconvenience for us that we were unable to sleep on the top bunks because it was unsafe for small dogs there were ants and spiders in the bed…Making us have to all sleep on the bottom couch. I was under the impression that if you needed simple things like extra towels, extra sheets, garbage bags they would be provided with no problem, however after asking for the sheets and getting so much kickback about them made me so uncomfortable that we ended up doing without extra towels that we needed and purchased toilet paper, and garbage bags because I felt so uncomfortable about asking for anything after the sheets incident. The curtains in the tiny house are completely sheer even in the bathroom shower area. I had to put towels up for privacy, I was told by who I think was the owner that she had never had that complaint before (and again I wasn’t complaining I was merely explaining why I needed the extra towels and sheets) as if it was not a valid concern of ours. I have never felt more uncomfortable or unwanted in a place before. Because of this we spent very little time there and ended up purchasing items that we were told would be provided . We also had an incident where somebody tried to come into the rental, were they must have thought we were gone , i had put my small dogs in a closed kennel and went to take a shower while my husband went to go grab food at the grocery store which was 30 minutes away. My dogs started going crazy as someone opened the door. Once they realized that somebody was there they quickly shut the door leaving it unlocked. I am not one to complain or leave bad reviews but this experience left me not only filling unsafe but extremely upset. We chose this place because it was dog friendly, but we were extremely dissatisfied with the treatment by the owners and staff. I have attached pictures of the sheer curtains that I was talking about to the owner as it seemed that she really could not understand what I was speaking about. These curtains are also in the bathroom with a giant window that faces the street and...
