When we booked, we specifically stated we needed conjoining rooms. We verbally went over this MANY times with the lady on the phone (even agreeing to a King instead of double Queens to make it happen), but when we called to check in we were told there were none available.
I was very upset. The front desk asked me to call back in 15 minutes when she could review our situation. We did, and she somehow found the exact rooms we booked.... that conjoined. But now she had to upcharge us $10.
We were glad that we were able to have the rooms we booked, but thought it was a bit ridiculous were given the runaround and then charged more money to get the very rooms we already booked.
The floors in our rooms were not cleaned and there was debris and crumbs in many areas of the room.
The bars of hand soap on the bathroom counters were all opened and partly used.
There were A LOT of people at the indoor pool (over half that were friends of guests and lived close by, but were not tenants at the hotel) that had crazy loud music (with a stereo system) and a lot of kids. It was just insane, and they weren't even guests at the hotel.
The chemical levels in the pool were hazardous! No exaggeration. Our kids had to get out of the pool because the salt levels were so unbalanced. Their eyes and faces swelled up and burned for hours afterwards (even with the standing in the shower with eyes open to rinse it from their eyes and bodies). It was the worst experience by far. Seriously dangerous.
The few positives were that the hotel looks really nice and well kept up and the lady at the front desk was very kind.
The ONLY reason I would book here again would be for the continental breakfast. LOL It was really above average, and the food was fantastic for hotel lobby food. The fresh waffles were a highlight, as well as the hashbrowns and the eggs (not overcooked).
We normally book our stays at Holiday Inn Express, and took a chance that weekend on Hampton Inn. Overall, really...
Read moreDo not go to this hotel if you are worried about COVID-19. The employees do not wear masks properly, if they are wearing them at all, and the seal-usage and cleaning is deficient. Instead, drive a few miles to go to the La Grange Hampton Inn, which is abiding my Hilton's COVID standards.
At the Lanett-West Hampton Inn, the night receptionist was not wearing a mask at all. She leaned round the plexiglass to talk, and she was outside with a friend, not socially distanced, when I arrived. The morning receptionist had a branded Hilton mask pulled down below her chin, the man cleaning the lobby had a Hilton mask pulled low below his nose, and the maid had a disposable mask pulled below her chin.
Originally, they put me in a room with no Lysol seal, so I asked to be put in the other room. The receptionist wanted me to stay in that room, saying the maid probably just forgot the seal, even though almost all the doors had broken or intact seals.
I insisted on a room with a seal and was put in a new room. However, it was clear the room had not been properly cleaned per Hilton's COVID regulations. The beds were made and there were new toiletries, but several things indicated the cleaning was not thorough. The bedroom desk lamp was on the bathroom counter with the plug near the sink, there was only one large towel and two hand towels, and the toilet paper was not folded. In addition, the clock was 40 minutes slow and the microwave still had 12 seconds left on it from the last person.
I would not stay here again during COVID. After COVID, I expect the hotel is fine to stay in, but right now they are not conforming to Hilton's...
