We decided on Sunday we wanted to take a last minute family vacation. On Wednesday pioneer Campground came through with a camp site! | Pioneer is affordable for a 3 night stay. $124 for a family of 5 with a dog at an electric camp site. (Compared to beach visits which were $380 a NIGHT!) | They have a heated pool which the kids loved. A play ground with climbing and swimming and sand digger. Riding bikes was great for the kids as well. They have kids activities like ice cream socials and hayrides. There’s a hiking trail that goes behind the campground that’s easy for kids and pets. |The camp store is stocked pretty well. We bought sweatshirts and blankets because We didn’t bring warm enough stuff for evening and sleeping in tent. I would recommend bringing warm blankets and clothes for evening and sleep because it does get chilly and damp. |I would also like to say that through our bike accident that everyone involved was super helpful. The owner John gave impromptu directions to the nearest hospital asap and helped as far as getting our belongings back to where they belonged. |We will definitely return to the camp ground. Next time we stay we plan on going on adventures to ricketts Glenn and worlds end. Both are super close. We planned on it this trip, but as the hospital visit put a curve in our camping trip, staying at the camp ground was just...
Read moreThis is an open response to Heynow Brian in response to his recent visit to our campground. First let me state that Brian Schraeder and his wife were at no point assaulted. The definition of assault is causing physical harm. No one touched Mr. Schraeder or his wife, no one even raised their voice to either of them. What we did do is prevent Mr. Schraeder from driving through the campground while we had children roaming the roads trick or treating. He had difficulty keeping his truck on the road repeatedly, failed to stop when told to, and veered off on to the grass area and barely missed the fence surrounding the pool. He very slowly rolled into a group of campers attempting to push them out of his way as they blocked a road that had children on it. They were both insulting to us and fellow campers, with his wife freely lashing out vulgarities at us. They finally relented and parked their vehicle and walked to the showers.
You can give us a bad review and blatantly lie in this public forum about how you were treated, but that is all worth it if we prevented a potential disaster you may have caused with your careless behaviour. The safety of everyone in our campground is paramount. In hindsight, I should have called the police and had you arrested and removed from the campground. Needless to say, you will never be...
Read moreThis is a very nice family owned campground. When making reservations they were very helpful in finding a site that would accommodate the size of our camper and our slidouts. Due to COVID they wanted you to go straight to your site and call them when you arrived. After which, they came and greeted us for parking pass, check-in, wifi access passwords, etc. A gentleman arrived via a 4-wheeler and checked us in. He warned us that there have been bears in the area, including one at the site next to us, but that they had scared them off the day before and they should be scared enough not to return. They also mentioned that they had a trap set up for the bears. We stayed in site #20, which is one of their larger sites. It was very clean and level. The only complaint that we have is that the cable lines hang very low and they almost got ripped down by getting caught up in the top of our trailer while trying to park. We did not use the pool as the weekend we were there it was very chilly, but it appears to be nice. The dirt road leading back to the campground is a little narrow. We tried to get into one of the state parks in the area, but it was full. But we would stay here again...
