Fish n Fry is a unique rv park near Deadwood, The Black Hills, Mt Rushmore, Custer state park, and multiple caves. It's in an area packed with historic and geological attractions. The park was quiet other than the hundreds of off-road vehicles traveling by... but gets really quiet when the sun goes down. There is a full restaurant on site where, you can catch a trout 🐟 from a private pond, have it cooked by itself or as part of a delicious meal (for a cost of course)...a full menu is also offered, delicious too.... and a bar that serves beer đŸș and wine đŸ·. Laundry and showers on site. Sites are back in, level, grassy and roads are gravel. This place loses a star from me due to big rig access. Is doable, but tight and steep access and egress to/from the highway. We were in a 40ft diesel pusher, towing a Jeep wrangler and due to my experience, was able to manuver to my site. People there assisted with directions to, and into your site. Management was awesome, very friendly and easy to talk to...like family! Recommended rv park. No cellular service on Verizon, wifi was weak but adequate....no streaming.

We originally booked 2 weeks here but our schedule changed and were only able to stay 6 nights. Management was quick to adjust our stay and refund the difference without issue. We visited Deadwood one evening and there wasn't much to do if you don't plan to go in the casino's and was pretty disappointing overall. Went and saw Mt Rushmore for the 4th which was neat, although they didn't have fireworks. Perhaps the highlight of our stay was our boys catching fish in the stocked pond, then getting to eat their own catch! Staff, Management, and Ownership was excellent. Tim, Joyce, Dennis, and Stephen were all awesome and really made the campground welcoming. Quite a few kiddo's and our boys enjoyed playing in the stream multiple days. We brought along our 43.5' Toy Hauler Fifth Wheel, and others have noted, its quite tight. We stayed on one of the full hookup sites on the stream/river, and we had to park the tow vehicle/truck across the way because there was just no room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Nice small campground. Quiet although we were there in Sept. On the highway so could be noisy, but it sits low off the road, so maybe not too bad in summer season. Nice laundry, bathroom and shower. Cute cabins and grounds with trout pond and fresh Trout dinners and full service restaurant overlooking the pond. Nice friendly and great location. If you're traveling with another RVer, sites allow for awning yo awning. Nice option if you're sharing meals. We'd visit again.

This review is not of the overall park nor staff which we found quite pleasant and helpful. This review is of the Log House within the park which we stayed in. This structure is not what we were expecting. One bedroom is only slightly wider than the plastic covered bed which is crammed in there. The useless pillows given us were about 1-1/4" thick and the fitted sheet would not stay in place due to the plastic covered mattress so we would sweat at night and stick to the plastic due to the under performing A/C. The bathroom door does not close into a typical frame but rather closes against the wall in an odd design leaving a large gap even when "locked" with the screen door hook. The kitchen is immediately on the other side of the door so peoples bathroom habits are shared with everyone. The floor immediately in front of the bathroom door is rotten and the only thing currently preventing your foot going through the floor is the strength of the linoleum. We had to buy an extension cord in nearby Deadwood so the couple staying in the other bedroom could power a COPD medical device at night. In fairness this structure might be okay for a family but it certainly was not great for two middle aged couples. We noticed what appeared to be some newer and smaller cabins on the property and looking back wish we had tried two of those instead. I can't speak to the price we paid as far as comparing to other nearby facilities but do think it was too much for...

Our family stayed over Labor Day Weekend 2019 in our 24 ft travel trailer. The location was perfect to see everything the area had to offer. The campground sits in the Black Hills and is beautiful. It’s an older campground but offers anything you would need. Pool, laundry, showers, full hookups, dog walk. Everything was clean and well taken care of. There is a store and restaurant/bar. They had ice and firewood. When we couldn’t get our satellite to work (our error), the owner and another staff member came by to let us know we were welcome to watch college football inside if we wanted. The owners, Gary & Michele, are possibly the nicest people I’ve ever met. They treated everyone like guests in their home instead of just customers. The rest of the staff was just as wonderful. The kids fished in the stocked pond and got a kick out of catching their own lunch. The way the kitchen prepared the trout really was delicious and very reasonably priced. Fish N Fry holds a special place in our hearts after our 5 day experience and we will be back next summer. The sites are close together and not huge but, with so much to see and do in the area, plus the AMAZING staff, we didn’t even notice. If you want to feel like family and enjoy the area, stay here. If you’re snobby about space and don’t like to be treated like a neighbor, go down the road so we can...

Staying at this beautifully rustic campgrounds for 7 days was just the relaxing place I needed to be. The place is clean - really CLEAN and very well maintained. Gary and Michele are easy going people and the staff were always available. They will do anything they can to make your stay a happy one. I loved eating in their little cafe (liked the Pavilion too) after a long day of playing tourist. Although the menu is limited all the food is served fresh and hot. Their homemade sloppy joes were a favorite - as was the trout dinner; ok, the breakfasts are delicious too. They even carry my favorite Tom & Jerry's ice cream. The little store has an amazing variety of necessities and fun items crammed into every corner - they even have a mini-library! My little camper was nestled under the pine trees next to the running brook - it was the PERFECT spot and Gary made sure I was exactly where I wanted to be. When heavy rains threatened a delay in my departure they went out of their way to let me know they'd make sure I could stay on if needed. The shower stalls are the biggest I've seen in any campground..and NO, I did not mind paying a quarter for a 7-min shower. It was more than enough time for a double-scrub! I do hope to camp there sometime again. It really was a treat. Thank you Gary and Michele - (Lou Ann with the little...
