Let me first start by saying that I have never come across a business that was as kind and helpful as the staff here! The woman that runs the place, Megan, Went above and beyond to help me out. I was kayaking by myself and my kayak ended up flipping on the river that runs beside mountain creek resort. I lost my phone, my paddle, my shoes, EVERYTHING!! I pulled my kayak on the gravel bar and took the painful walk of shame barefoot through lots of rocks and found my way to the store located on the resort. The manager, Megan, Looked at me and could see the distress and asked me immediately “what can we do to help?” I grabbed a pair of flip flops off her shelf and told her I needed shoes and I needed to call my husband to come get me. She gave me the flip flops and called my husband and told him what happened. It was a 40 minute drive from where he was coming from so Megan took it upon herself to get me in her truck go to the gravel bar and load my kayak up in the truck and drive me 40 minutes away to meet him so he wouldn’t have to come as far. I couldn’t believe it. I kept telling her she didn’t have to do that but she just wanted to help. I’ve never seen somebody go out of their way so far they didn’t know that wasn’t even a customer at the time. she got me safely to where I needed to be to meet my husband and do the exchange with the kayak. Me and my husband were so thankful and so impressed with Mountain Creek resort that we took our family there the next week and had a weekend camping at the resort. We had the best time we’ve ever had camping! They have the hugest waterslide I’ve ever seen especially out in the woods! I’ve never seen a resort have such accommodations for their guests! Mountain Creek resort will always be my go to place now. Super fun...
Read moreMy partner and I stayed at Mountain Creek last year and loved it so much that we came back and brought family. When we arrived we noticed some changes due to new ownership. We stayed in a primitive camping area near the river. ||We picked this campsite because of the family friendly atmosphere and quiet enviornment. Unfortunately the quiet hours now begin later (11pm), and it doesn't seem to be enforced. We were excited to listen to the bubbling water and hear the sounds of nature in the evening, but all we could hear was loud music from several other campers and some drunk people yelling into the early hours of the morning. We were dissappointed to see the family resort seemingly become more of a partying atmosphere, especially since there are several other nearby campgrounds that are intended for that. We mentioned it to an employee who apologized and said that they are trying to maintain a family friendly vibe. ||The river was clean and beautiful. The giant slip'n'slide was a blast and the kids had a great time. The jungle gyms and park areas were in good shape too. We enjoyed getting ice cream from the shop on the hot days. There was also a cute hammock/ swing area for relaxing. The finished restrooms/ showers were nice and clean but the porta-pottys needed to be emptied. Overall the grounds seem to be a bit better maintained. The burger bus wasn't operating this summer, but we were told they plan to have a food truck next year. ||They've added some log cabins and it looks like more cabins are going up. We hope they'll keep some water side primitive camping available for those who prefer to...
Read moreI've been fairly close to this place since we moved to where we are about 17 years ago and have never been. My wife and I tent camped here over Labor day weekend for the first time this year. I cannot state how much I recommend this place to anyone that would like to take their family to camp and have a great time. They are reasonable with their prices, they have some of the best customer service skills, and even went above and beyond what was expected in today's hospitality services. I didn't know when the campground store closed and missed my opportunity to buy ice. One of the ladies that work there took me to the store on site grabbed me ice and then took me back to my camp site, and said pay it in the morning. My hub blew out on my truck and we were unable to take our kayaks up to be taken on the float. They came and got them for us and delivered the fire wood we bought the night before the float. We were asked nightly if there was anything that we needed, something I've never seen when we camped anywhere. I just don't even feel I can show just how great this place is without saying just go there and see for yourself. I hope I did them justice by doing the best I could to elaborate on just how great of a...
