We stayed here for about a week in July 2020 (our first time). Sites were doable, our friends site was narrow. The playground is old school, but fun (could use a painting and the spring/ricking animals need bolts tightened).
With COVID-19 guidelines, they had to limit the number of people in the pool area to 10 inside the gate. Which we completely understood and abide by. But when our kids too our grand kids up, by the time they got the sunscreen on them and got int the pool. a group of adults (obviously regulars) came and the owner had all 5 of our grand kids (all under age 7) get our. Adults can be SOOO selfish - they explained they were barely in the pool 5 minutes but were asked to leave The kids were crying and not one adult cared. Very frustrating. I get they need to limit, but then have a plan and allow at least 30 minutes for the guests to enjoy the pool in 90+ degree weather. Obviously the owner felt bad for her choice, and brought each of the kids a little bottled drink. It was poorly handled regardless. Those adults remained in the pool most of the afternoon and kids didn't get to go back up until later and got a very little time because the office was closed. The pool is only open when the office is, so if they close at 1 or 2 on a Sunday...no pool.
They drive around every so often and look at sites - more strict rules then other campgrounds we have been to. No outdoor carpets can be over the lawn either. I felt like was being babysat, which made me feel like an unwanted guest. We had a small pop up shade tent that is open on the front (VERY small, like you would use for your child's sporting event to shield you from the sun). We'd let our 1 and 3 year old grand kids play in it for shade and we were made to take it down because of perception, and they have a rule "NO TENTS"....yet folks could have shade easy-up tents ????
It has nice a nice walking trail, not much of a lake though.
We wouldn't consider...
Read moreThis was not our first stay here but it was our first stay with new owners. We did not interact much with staff due to covid but we bought ice and firewood with no issues. Main detraction was that we traveled with friends and we were not allowed to position our trailers to face each other even through all the sites are just gravel and grass so it should not have mattered to anyone which way we were facing and since we do this a lot, I have extra hose and electric cords to reach any distance. I will also mention that the sites are not "spacious" as some reviews say. There are a couple that have extra room but for the most part you are right next to each other and the center "back in" spaces are backed right against each other so you can hear and see your neighbors. Some of the sites can be a little hard to swing on to for the more novice camper. Normal TV reception was just fine, you do not need a satellite dish but bring movies for your DVD. I also could stream on my phone and iPad through standard 4G. We had 2 dogs who barked but nobody created any issues and we even had a large rottwieler next to us that was just a nice quiet dog. The staff also dropped off some ice cream for a recent birthday in our group which was nice. We did not swim but it appears to be a small pool for the amount of people when the park is full. Each of the electric boxes is marked with the site number and our map to our site was exactly correct, but some could have trouble if arriving in the dark. Overall it is a nice campground, but my preference is to have a little more room to spread out...
Read moreWe just returned from a weekend here and thought I would share a few things. The employees are extremely nice and pleasant. The sites all seem to be very level. They only have 50amp power at the sites, so just be sure you have a 30amp adapter if needed. The sites are wide enough for a camper and to have a small yard, unfortunately, most of the yards have the neighboring sewage hookup in the middle. Also, the sewage pipe hookup locations are at various heights across the sites. Our sewage hookup was about 2ft off the the ground, which made for an interesting time emptying the tanks. All sites are gravel, and seem to be packed and maintained very well. The roads around the campground are gravel as well, which is difficult to walk around on sometimes. Paved roads would great
The pool was very well maintained, however because it is so small, the max allowed in the pool was 15 people. They have a huge field full of playground equipment. They also have a basketball court.
There is only one bathhouse for the property. The bathhouse is kept fairly clean, but the shower stalls are smaller than in our camper.
The pond is nice, but has a lot of moss floating. We had to clean our hooks pretty often.
During the weekend that we stayed, the campground was offering an event. During the event, they had fishing tournaments, a potluck, pirate costume contest, scavenger hunts, multiple games for kids, and live music.
A lot of the campers seem to be seasonal and keep to themselves.
Overall, we would come and stay again. The campground is very quiet...
