Maybe the worst resort that we have stayed at that wasn't in the third world. Don't expect anything close to "Holiday Inn" -- which now has its name attached. That is just to sell timeshares. Expect camping with a roof.

We paid for a week in a two-bedroom unit, but only stayed 5 days, mostly because it was just irritating staying there.

Our room doesn't have a SHOWER -- which may be fine for tiny people or Europeans (who sometimes have just a bath in their homes) -- but not for most guests.

The bathroom is actually IN THE BEDROOM, so if your spouse is up, you're up.

We could hear every noise of every neighbor, especially upstairs, and when they used their tub (right over our bedroom), we would hear dripping ALL NIGHT LONG. It turnedout that the dripping that we heard was not in their tub, but from OUR CEILING!!!

The leak from upstairs had grown to a regular splash, every few seconds, when we discovered that water was pouring out of our light fixtures and pieces of the ceiling were falling into our tub.

Prior to them moving in upstairs, we had had no hot water for hours in the morning.

There are bugs in our room -- even at 5°F.

The Internet connection is absolutely terrible. Don't count on using it for work. Teenagers would go crazy.

There are coat hooks, but there are no TOWEL racks. I guess with no shower, why bother? What about if you use the tub? Or the pool?

Well, using the pool isn't so easy, now that I mention it. After a quarter-mile hike in Artic temperatures, you'll find that the pool locker room HAS NO LOCKERS!! Just wear your winter coat to the pool, I guess. (Not even a PLACE for your things except IN the pool.) And the floor is perpetually water, so changing back is a challenge. But don't worry: It's the only place that you can SHOWER! (EXCEPT that it is open too late for a morning shower, and close early.

By the way, the "changing room" for the pool and fitness center is actually a BATHROOM STALL with a seat instead of a toilet. And a long line of people queued up for it.

This fitness center is not in the best condition, with some broken equipment. Not enough for the guests this week. And it was in the upper 80s in the room one morning.

These are in the "Activity Center" which also has a Subway sandwich shop (very convenient, though the prices are elevated from normal Subways) and a small pizza shop with a small area to sit and eat it.

They have free ping pong -- but only a.single ball that gets lost regularly, and one racquet is broken. They also have billiards and air hockey for $1 per game (plus a $.50 charge to buy a card to play the games). These were used regularly, and actually in pretty good shape.

They have Chuck-e-Cheese type games to win tickets. For about $60 in games you can win their TOP PRIZE: a $1 fidget spinner. Only 2 videos games and no pinball games. There is another pool table in a bar area, but the bar (21 and over, weird hours) was only serving diet soft drinks when we there.

They have a mini movie theater there as well, with family movies all day. The movie selection was quite good.

In the summer, getting from the units to the Activity Center might be easier, because you wouldn't have snow and you might cut across the grass. Being wet from the pool or fitness center as you head back to your unit would not be life-threatening as it was with the windchill at -20°F. There would be mini-golf, we are told, and an outdoor pool. In the winter, there were not shoveled paths, so driving is necessary, but parking was not available.

I wouldn't recommend spending more than $75/night on this place, or go in the summer and spend $10 more. Keep your expectations low. Maybe someday they might eventually fix some of these things, in the meantime, I am taking my...

MY RESPONSE: To Oak and Spruce’s reply to my review from 03/10/2020. Oak and Spruce was not originally owned by Holiday Inn. It was privately owned and it was wonderful. Now that Holiday Inn owns Oak and Spruce, things have changed. The owners now have to pay more money and have less options for use. People are paying for a timeshare that they can barely use and on top of the mortgage, they also have to pay monthly fees, maintenance fees and NOW PAY TO STAY EVERY TIME they want to go. My family has been owners for over 25 years and now that Holiday Inn owns it, We are being treated very badly. This place use to be a timeshare for people who paid a lot of money to stay there, and now it’s just a hotel for anyone. WHY are you forcing us to keep our timeshares when you’re allowing anyone to stay now!? You’re basically a hotel and everyone who paid for a timeshare in the past is now forced to keep it??? This is no longer an owner operated timeshare, it’s a hotel. I think it’s time to allow the people with timeshares to leave if they want. Please let us know where my friend and other unhappy people can just give theirs back... you mentioned in your original reply, selling was an option. No one is asking for money, they just want give it back, TO BE RID OF THIS since you mentioned that that was an option. I feel like now that your location is no longer a timeshare, you need to allow people to leave if they want, and not cause them more stress and debt like you are doing. My friend who is suffering a horrific hardship and isn’t working, has been begging to simply just give it back and stop paying and she’s been told she can’t. She’s been trying to pay hospital bills for a terminally ill child and Oak and Spruce won’t allow it and seems to not care. Please let us know who can be called to just stop paying and give the timeshare back! Thank you!

Please read from beginning to end. BUYER BEWARE!! You are doomed!!! They are vultures and you will never use the place enough to make up for what they charge you! Then you will have only a few days you can use it here and there, and you will have to pay $25-$75 a night!! You’re better off saving your money and going away when you want. My family has been owners for years and they have done nothing but screw us and our friends over who also own!!! Also, a good friend of ours begged them to just take it back FOR FREE because she can’t afford it and her family is going through a huge hardship.. they wouldn’t let her and still beat her over the head on interest rates and service fees. she doesn’t even use it because she can’t afford it!! PLEASE THINK BEFORE YOU SIGN. Sorry I had to put one star in order to post my review otherwise it wouldn’t let me. Like Response from the owner 5 hours ago Holly, we are genuinely sorry to hear that you are feeling disappointed. Our goal is to provide families better ways to vacation and, with 30 years in the industry, Oak N' Spruce Resort delivers fun and memorable experiences.

We strive to offer a wide variety of products to meet the vacation needs of our vast ownership base. Our tour representatives do get excited about the opportunity to share additional vacation ownership details, but we never want that excitement to feel like pressure. We understand that personal circumstances may change over time. Owners interested in selling their timeshare interest are encouraged to contact our Customer Service team to receive assistance with available options.

Your feedback is much appreciated. We value you as a member of our Holiday Inn Club Vacations family and look forward to assisting you with future vacation plans. Thank you for sharing...

Lovely property, nestled in the countryside, serene and peaceful setting in the Berkshires. Lots to do nearby. Downtown Stockbridge, The Mount, Botanical Gardens, Shops and Restaurants. We are not really ones for leaving reviews, but we had to give our feedback. Came here with family. Bingo and crafts in activies center were fun. Staff for the most part excellent. A couple times we went to get things for mini golf etc, in the evening, and not a soul to be found. Omar at the Cafe was so friendly and helpful. The area we had more complaints about than anything was the bar, and our initial experience we had. The Tiki Bar they advertise on line is never open. It was inconvenient to have to walk all the way down to the bar from the pool to get drinks. We came in Sunday and Monday during Karaoke nights. The guy working that Sunday night, while friendly, seemed more focused on the tables he was going around serving personally, and chatting with, rather than those sitting at the bar waiting on drinks. Karaoke started after 9 when it said 8:30 (bummer when you only have an hour or so spend out). We asked the DJ when it was going to start, we were told she was waiting on the Bartender to shut off the Jukebox. He had told her he could not because someone was listening to their songs on the jukebox. Someone did come in eventually, after 9, and shut it off. We ordered from the specials menu. We barely could drink the cocktails we ordered. Were either very strong, or just did not taste very good. The next night of our stay (Monday) we came to order take away drinks, while at the arcade with our kids. The woman bartender was not very welcoming, or friendly. She had an unpleasant attitude and seemed like she was very annoyed with everyone and everything. We can't remember her name as we only got the one drink. Older woman with blonde hair. Later that same night we went to go back, and give Karaoke another try. As we were walking in another guest from the bar was coming out, and told us we had better hurry up because they had already done last call, and they were closing. This was around a little after quarter to half past 10. We were told the Bar was open until 12. We had put our kids to bed after the indoor pool closed, while my parents stayed with them in the room. We were looking forward to again trying to have some adult time. We ended up just not going in at all, and just went back to our room very disappointed the bar closed early. We then tried again Tuesday night (third times a charm right?) and we are so glad we did! We were so frustrated, and disappointed about the previous two nights that we were not very optimistic. We went to play Trivia, relax, enjoy drinks, and finally get some adult time in. The young lady behind the bar that night was amazing! Jennifer was her name (we were sure to find out at this point just incase) We wanted to be sure we make mention of how much we enjoyed Trivia, and appreciated the amazing drinks, her friendly service, and talent (her drinks were delicious). Drinks on Sunday verses Tuesday were night and day. So a huge thank you to her for making our night out, exactly what we were looking for! Front desk staff, was amazing. Quick check in and Check out. Very friendly, and professional. The last negative was the constant barage of calls for buying into a timeshare. Calling the room over, and over again was a bit overkill. The marketing meeting was intimidating not welcoming. We will definitely be back, but we hope our feedback lends to improvement in areas we felt...

To preface this review, we are Platinum owners of Orange Lake Residences... This was a spur of the moment trip just to get away somewhere quiet and it hasn't gone very well. After taking the drive from New Jersey, my fiancee and I checked in and climbed to our 3rd floor, corner room in hopes of taking a little nap. In our 2BR Presidential Suite, we quickly found that just about every surface had a layer of dust. Most window sills had dead flies or wasps on them. The headboard of our bed also had dead bugs AND hair. There is hair in almost every corner of the floors and several spider webs (with spiders still in their home). The bathroom door has crayon drawn on it. The master bath mirror is missing one of its anchors screwed into the wall. There are dried boogers on the bathroom wall. The utensil drawer in the kitchen had hair in it. There is a sticky gummy of some kind stuck to the kitchen floor. A big, used, zip-lock bag on top of the fridge... And the kitchen cabinets were sticky with grease. SO..... Knowing this is not a perfect world, I understand things happen.. We stopped unpacking and decided to just report this and let them clean while we go have lunch somewhere local. We went back to the front desk and told them our findings. While the staff was polite, they seemed very "Here we go again" about the whole situation. We expressed concern that our suitcases were up there (I'm not carrying two suitcases back down 4 flights of stairs so they can clean). So they said not to worry, they'll still clean... Whatever... They say they'll have someone get right in there and clean. We go get food and were gone for about 1.5hrs. Upon returning to the resort, I got out my car and witnessed staff leaving our room. I called up to him and asked "is it all good in there?" He said "Oh, I don't know. The front desk just asked me to go vacuum in here. But I saw suitcases so I didn't touch anything. I'm leaving". Sssoooo, we get back in our room. Still spiderwebs and spiders on the floor. But hey, most the surfaces were cleaned. Then they send these chipper text messages like "how are you finding your room?" And I explain what's going on, and they send back a generic apology and offer to send someone back to the room... I'm just cleaning the things I see and never coming back. I don't have faith that they're competent to come back in this room and clean, and being that this is a building with no elevators and I'm already here, I don't see a point in packing up just to carry my things to another room, or another floor (to most likely encounter the same issues). **On another note that has nothing to do with the staff here, at about 11:30pm, Sunday night our bed began to shake as a very loud train rolled by. The train's whistle is very loud too. It may be a surprise to anyone coming to this part of Mass for the quaintness and silence. The staff DID provide us a useful map and directions to find our room, and gave a list of things to do nearby. Nobody was rude. Other than these things, the surrounding areas have scenic things to do and the town has several nice food options, breweries and wineries. Pictures attached.

Our family had exchanged our timeshare week through Interval International to come here for a week in June 2025. We got a beautiful 3 bedroom, 3 bath villa on the 2nd floor in building 30. The villa was very spacious and comfortable. We loved our unit. We had our own spacious balcony with two Adirondack chairs along with a table and chairs. The villa had a master bedroom with a king bed with its own bathroom and whirlpool/shower combo with a privacy shower curtain. All of the bedrooms had spacious closets for guests. The other two bedrooms each had a single bed ( which I believe was queen size in each). There was also a pull out sofa in the living room area. The bedrooms and the living room all had flat screen televisions. There is a full kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, sink, and dishwasher. There was a washer and dryer in the kitchen area as well, with three small boxes of tide detergent. We did end up using the washer and dryer. There was a roll of paper towels for us and a sponge and a small dish detergent bottle at the kitchen sink. There were three dishwasher cleaning pods for guests. There are ceiling fans in the villa as well. The kitchen has full utensils and pots and pans for guests. There is free high-speed wifi with no password needed to connect. We had no issues, and it worked fine. The resort sent us a detailed email prior to our stay with great information on nearby fun activities to do, shopping, and restaurant recommendations. The information was very helpful. The resort has a lot of fun planned activities for guests, and guests receive a complete schedule when checking in. Some activities include bingo and arts and crafts. Here is what the resort also has. It is nearby to a creek as well. 2 indoor pools and hot tubs 1 outdoor pool Horseshoes Cornhole Basketball Tennis court Mini-golf Shuffleboard Arcade Movie theater Activity center Snack bar Bar Sand volleyball Jenga Connect four Giant chess board and chess pieces You can rent board games in the activity center Kid's playground Charcoal grills Pool towels were provided in our unit. There is a nearby grocery store called Big Y about 10 minutes from the resort. There are many area restaurants as well. Some are quite expensive, costing $30-50 a person for a meal. You can get a map of the area as well, which shows many of the area restaurants and other attractions. Area attractions include: Monument Mountain- You can do some moderate hikes here Lee outlets - 5 minutes from the resort Hancock Shaker Village - 30 minutes or so from the resort Movie theater Bowling - Great Barrington Berkshire Botanical Gardens 5-10 minutes from resort Norman Rockwell Museum - 5-10 minutes from resort Some quaint little nearby towns, including Stockbridge, Hancock, Lenox, and Great Barrington Even though we were not checking out for two more days, I wanted to share our experiences at the resort now. Our family had a great time and we would love to visit the area again. I highly recommend this resort.

Great location in the Berkshires for a getaway. This place looks pretty impressive overall. There are a lot of buildings and its slightly tucked away. We booked a 2 bedroom 1 king 1 queen villa. It was definitely spacious for the 2 of us and a baby. It has a full kitchen, dining table, 2 full bathrooms, living room, 2 bedrooms, and a nice semi private balcony/patio. We stayed in building 19, first floor, room 310 and there was a brook right behind the building so the view was nice back there on the patio. We requested to be put there because I read reviews that mentioned the brook and it was greatly appreciated so I hope this review comes in handy for others looking for something similar as well. I saw some balconies/patios that faced right to the pool and I wouldn't have liked that at all. It was so open and not private. The room is definitely painted/decorated very basic and could maybe use a little "sprucing" (get it 😆) up. But overall it wasn't terrible and the room was pretty clean. The beds were comfortable and we slept pretty well. We had a Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, though I was expecting it to be in the bedroom like the pictures, so that was kind of a let down. It looked much nicer in the pictures. It was kind of small too. It was still a nice experience overall. The indoor pools were bigger than expected, but they do need to spruce up that area as well. Felt like we were in a school pool area. Kind of dark, drab, and outdated. They have vending machines and a little restaurant that has kind of a Chuckie Cheese type menu. A small movie theater that shows movies throughout the day was a nice touch, though we didn't use it. Plenty of scheduled daily activities too. The outdoor pool that I saw looked nice and so did the mini golf area. They had a playground, basketball court, and volleyball too. Beware of the timeshare pitch though! They check you in and then make you get your key from the timeshare guy who tries to schedule a slot for you to listen to their pitch. Just keep saying no. They were pushy though. My husband said he'd need to talk with me(his wife) before any scheduling was to take place and the guy even offered to talk to me for him... We were there for my birthday and our anniversary and certainly didn't have time for a timeshare presentation during our short weekend stay. Other than that though, they didn't bother us about it again. If you're traveling with babies, they do offer pack n plays(we brought our own though) and highchairs. We realized we needed a chair for the baby and they brought it right over. It was a restaurant style one but with a tray which worked out great for our 10 month old. We would certainly come back here again and maybe bring our older 2 kiddos since there was so much for them to do there. Plenty in the area as well.
