We went for our first EVER trip in our new 36ft Forrest River RV(we are from Connecticut, soon to be Maine). While we are waiting for our land to be prepped for our camper we stayed at Sleeping Bear..we LOVED the campground. It's NOT the huge 100+ site busy, loud campground..it's the quiet, feels like your "home" type of place. The owners are so friendly, kind and helpful. Our site was very nice, fresh Maine water, 30amp power, (ran out a/c perfect). Very clean and well kept bathhouses with individual toilet/sink/showers. Lots of walking trails for dogs, even a place out back near the beautiful barn to let dogs off leash to play ball. SUPER quiet area except for the loons singing in the distance in the evening from Silver Lake close by. What a beautiful sound that is!!! They have a communal area with a huge barn, picnic tables surrounded by perenial gardens and it all belongs in Home and Garden. They have weddings here also, and I can see why ..i almost forgot the neatest part, they also rent our cabins, they are all beautiful log cabins with deep burgundy metall roofs, and dark brown stain, well kept cabins all tucked into the trees, as private as the camp sites are!!! A lovely place for sure! Also, this camp is approx 10/15 min from lincoln, ME which has anything and everything you need....it's a beautiful place, we would come...
Read moreMy daughter's wedding was held here. We booked the package deal with the cabins. Her and her husband had the whole campground for 6 days. Guests from away were able to stay in the cabins and there were accommodations for rv's and tenters. The log cabins are beautiful and clean. A bathhouse is also situated on the campground that provided clean bathrooms, showers and laundry. Owners Keith and Nancy were so awesome. Nancy was such a big help to me with getting things situated with the wedding. But prior to the wedding on Saturday for rehearsal and meet and greet we provided a lobster feed for guest. The pavilion accomadated the 200 guest and had beautiful landscaping. We received so many compliments about the place and how people couldn't believe there was this little gem hidden in the beautiful town...
