Ootona is an Army Corp of Engineers park near LaBelle, Fl and like all of the Corp parks, they are nice. All of the Corp. Parks I have stayed at are along a waterway of some sort and Ortona is on the Calooseahatchie river leading to the Gulf of Mexico near Ft. Myers. It is fun watching the boats go thru the locks.
If you have an America the Beautiful or a Seniors pass the cost is only $15 a night which is a lot less expensive than most other places you can stay. There are Corp parks in nearly every State, so if you are travelling, it is well worth buying the pass as it is also accepted at all of the national parks and national forests.

I give it 4 stars is because while the campground is beautiful and secluded, the staff is amazing, the dock is a fun fishing spot and mingling area, and the bathrooms are well kept. I was confused how the rate$ are the same for all of the sites when some offer more space and privacy than others. Granted its the same picnic bench, fire pit, and grill at all of them. One side of the grounds is more crowded than the other and closer to the only available dock. I also wish maybe they had just a simple playground, Laundromat, bait shop, or vending machine.
