Really awesome experience. Rustic creek failed to refund my reservation after flooding which required me to dispute the charge through my CC company. Because of this, I decided to try it Stony Mountain and I'm glad I did. Very friendly vibes and an enjoyable experience.

We had an extended stay here for work, much longer than expected. It's a great family oriented campground with plenty to do at camp but also a great proximity to town, the river, and Brown Hill Farms. Many memories made here!

Neat place to stay. We spent 2 nights. Parked near the swimming lake. Fun to watch and hear the children playing.

I love this place but I wish that the camper in the good spot was not $80 ..if that was $60 we would go here more often. Some of the staff are friendlier than others. They flip about a big dog who is extremely well trained being off leash but they have many small dogs off leash including their own. Even when we took our lab for a swim in the pond they expected us to keep him on a leash. Maybe they didn't trust him around their small unleashed dog but he is the friendliest dog ever. I think its rude to make rules for others but not follow that rule right in front of everyone. If a dog is off leash and not causing any problems at all I don't know why they feel the need to make a stink. I also got the feeling that they didn't like us especially the daughter. My son was stung by a wasp as there was a wasps nest at the camper we rented..he has allergic reactions to stings. We said we cannot stay where they just removed a wasp nest and they gave us other camper for same price but the daughter let it be known that she thought that we made a deal over nothing. She showed us her stings and said see I got stung too and it's no big deal. People with allergies to stings can go into anaphylactic shock and that is definitely a big deal! We loved the place but I couldn't help but feel a vibe that they disliked us . I didn't feel welcome. They had a barbecue and food was supposed to be ready by 1 PM and wasn't ready until around 7 PM but it was good so we dealt with it but the people doing the cooking were definitely inexperienced..still not the owners fault. I like the owner and the campground..I just wish that she liked us. We usually stay at a cabin in highland campground but since the owner died the worker Tony is the laziest person I ever met and he has destroyed the place..the pool has so many bugs you can't move without being covered in bugs ..if you ask him when the pool opens he will say whenever I get to it . He is good for nothing and I don't know why they keep him there when they can find a hard worker who would love the perks of the job. But that is a different campground..not this one. The owner is extremely hard working at this one. No one is lazy here and they...

We arrived around 3pm and the office was dark and locked even though we had made a reservation and were expected. We called the phone number on the door and nobody answered. We were given a site number over the phone when we made the reservation so we drove around looking for the site. Could not find it. A camper saw us circling and circling and flagged us down. She kindly offered to call the owner. No answer for her either so the camper left a message. Since the camper was a seasonal customer, the owner called her back. The seasonal camper then told us that our pull-through site (for our 40' motor home) had been given to someone else and we were given a lesser, back-in site. Same price, of course. She gave us the new site number. The site was small, tree-less and had not been cleaned. There was dog poop on one side and trash (bits of paper and plastic) all over. The water did not work. Our camping neighbor told us that was the "summer water" and it was not turned on. ???? She had a splitter for her water and said we could use it. Then we tried to plug in the sewer but the fitting was too small - a first in our many years of camping. Despite us communicating our problem, no staff ever came to help with this problem although we were told someone would. No cable. No wi-fi unless you want to sit in a sun-drenched bench outside the closed office. No pool, just a dirty pond. Sites are small and dirty. We hated it here and would never recommend...

We found Stony Mt Family Campground listed in Passport America. We called and reserved ahead for 3 nights full hookup during the week. We decided to stay Friday and Saturday night/regular price. We were given a spot right next to the swimming pond for our 40’ RV which was grass and flat which was fine for us. Most spots are gravel and roads are gravel. They have a nice shelter house, playground and swimming pond. They are in the process of building a new shower house/ restroom on top of the hill. A larger lake that you can fish is also located on the property. There are seasonal and yearly campers located also on the property. They were having a kids fishing Derby for a $15 entry on Saturday. They had a nice turnout and the kids were having a lot of fun. When we arrived we noticed on the information board that they had just had a BarBQ dinner at their lodge for a fee over Memorial Day. It is nice that they have different events planned for area people to attend. Very friendly owners and the place is quite....
