My husband and I spent one night at the WV Glamping Domes during our honeymoon. We loved the stay so much (we would have stayed longer but there was only one night available) that we booked a four-day stay at this venue the first day the 2023 dates were released by the owners. During our honeymoon in June 2022, we stayed in Firelight; its amenities include a large King-sized bed and an indoor bathroom with sink, toilet, and twin clawfoot tubs.  The indoor Bluetooth sound system adds to the ambiance.  This dome is the furthest away from the neighbors.  Guests can enjoy the peace and quiet.  The parking is also in the flat right outside the dome.  This dome does not have a hot tub, but that does not detract from the rental; it is like staying at a hotel in the woods. During spring break in April 2023, we spent four days in Aromatic Cedar.   The weather was less than ideal—it rained for two days, and it dropped below freezing during one night of our stay.  However, our dome stayed toasty.  The heated blanket was used and appreciated.  Aromatic Cedar has a hot tub which we used during each evening of our stay.  We loved it!  We also loved that this dome was the closest to the waterfall, so we fell asleep listening to the sound of the water each evening.  Truly, it’s my idea of paradise.  The bathroom for this dome is not attached to the dome, so it requires running outside to go to the bathroom.  However, there is a heater mounted on the ceiling to take the chill out of the air.  The shower is spectacular—hot water and great pressure.  There is even a footrest installed on the wall for washing your feet and/or shaving your legs.  If you book this dome, I highly recommend bringing your “around the house” flip-flops for wearing in the shower, and a nice robe to put on when leaving the shower and walking back to the dome. There are so many amenities available in both domes.  They are equipped with a nice-sized refrigerator and microwave.  Dishes and utensils are supplied and so is a Keurig with K-cups and creamer.  The towels, blankets, and sheets, are super clean and luxurious.  There is also shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided in large bottles that smell wonderful.  The small kitchen table is great for eating meals and there is a grill and a firepit outside where you can cook up your favorite meats or marshmallows for smores.  The time before dark is the most magical because that’s when the twinkling lights around each dome and along Muddy Creek turn on.   It makes staying feel unique and memorable. The WV Glamping Domes are perfectly situated, located only two miles from downtown Alderson and the Dollar General is right down the road if you forget anything.  In Alderson, I would highly recommend visiting Alderson’s store, the train depot, and the walking bridge.  They are historic treasures not to be missed.  I would also recommend eating at the Riverview Café; this is where the locals eat.  Their home cooking is not to be missed.  If you follow them on social media, you can see their daily lunch and dinner specials. There is so much to see and do within an hour of the domes.  Of course, downtown Lewisburg for dining (Food and Friends and Hill and Holler are our favorites) and shopping is a must.  The same goes for the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs.  You can visit as a day guest to dine and shop on the grounds.  I would also recommend the newly refurbished Blue Sulphur Springs pavilion, which is located out back roads right past the domes.  Google Maps WILL get you there.  Downtown Hinton is not to be missed, especially Market on Courthouse Square and the Dairy Queen down along the New River.  If you want mountain scenery, then Beartown State Park and Droop Mountain Battlefield State Park in southwestern Pocahontas County are a must-visit. I cannot stress how much we love the Glamping Domes.  Once you stay, you will understand why the domes are booked over a year in advance.  They are worth every penny.  You, your partner, your family members, and your friends will love a stay in Alderson

5 stars all around as a glamping experience for our 3rd wedding anniversary!! This was our first time glamping so we treated ourselves to a 2 night stay in the newer DaVinici Dome and absolutely LOVED IT! We were here during a heatwave and remained adequately cool. Location: The glamping domes are situated on a large property along a creek in the Alderson area. It is a 20-30 minute drive to the Lewisburg area where you can find many restaurants, local shops, Walmart, Kroger, and other activities. They all seemed to be spaced out nicely, with some privacy features between them, but if you want ultimate privacy I suggest booking the DaVinci. This dome is a short golf cart ride from the parking area. As of our visit (6/24/25 - 6/26/25) the trail is incredibly bumpy and again, you're in a golf cart, not a side by side or something with shocks, so take that in consideration when booking. I also recommend bringing some bungee cords/straps to secure your luggage on the golf cart so it doesn't end up on the trail. If the sky is clear you will have an awesome view of the stars! Dome: The DaVinici dome is peaceful, gorgeous, and a clear labor of love and ingenuity. The dome itself is cozy and is able to remain cool with the help of the air conditioning unit once the sun goes down. The bed was comfy and each side had a small bedside stand built in to the wall. While here we utilized the wifi, desk, mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker without any incident. There was also a toaster and hot plate that we did not use. The primary reason we booked this dome over others was the unique hand hewn log hot tub and it exceeded expectations! It was so hot outside that we did not have to heat it by fire the first night but the 2nd night cooled off enough for us to test out the wood fire heat. Overall, the hot tub was gorgeous, clean, and a great way to relax. It is important to consider that you must be able to climb up a couple of natural steps and over the side of the log to enter the log. The solo stove provides a wonderful nighttime activity. Making s'mores after a long soak in the hot tub was the perfect nightcap. If you want to have a fire more than one night bring cash with you to buy firewood. Another exciting occurrence -there were cows grazing in the meadow beside the dome each morning. Dome Bathroom Facilities: The shower and bathroom tent are a few steps from the dome. The walkway between is not covered so I would suggest bringing an umbrella/poncho/rain jacket in case it is raining. We hadn't considered that but thankfully it wasn't an issue. The shower water heated well. The water pressure when you have the water turned further to the hot side is low, but if you make the water a little cooler the pressure increases. The hosts have included shampoo, conditioner, and body soap for your use which helps you pack less. The bathroom tent is impressively engineered. There are several measures they've taken to attract bugs elsewhere in the tent so they don't bother you while on the toilet. The biggest plus in the bathroom is the box fan that turns on via motion sensor. The sink is on a gorgeous live edge counter that I was shocked to find in a bathroom tent. Service: The owners were incredibly responsive to our questions both prior to and during our stay. They also send important information multiple times through both email and text message. I was especially thankful for the check-out checklist that we received via text message. PSA: If you expect an experience without exposure to insects, wildlife, or unpredictable weather elements - this is NOT the location for you.

I was gifted a weekend stay for a Christmas present last year. This was the first weekend they had open, so we took it. I was worried about “camping” in December, but I am so glad we did. We had been getting very detailed emails from the host for a while explaining the check in process, what to bring, what to expect, etc. The sites are very easy to find and the entrance is well marked. The first things you come to are the 3 domes by the creek. We were staying at Meadow lark, which is on top of the fields, so we had to load everything into a golf cart to get there. The instructions were very clear with where to park and the codes to the golf cart and the door code for the dome. We did have to make two trips to get everything to the dome, but it was a fun drive on the golf cart. Our dome was at the top of the field, but the golf cart handled the muddy path with no issues. It is a working farm so you do have to be mindful of the cows and horse. The dome itself was very nice and well stocked. It is heated with electric heat, as well as heated mattress pad. There is a microwave, hot plate, refrigerator, and all the dishes and utensils you need. There is also an outdoor grill for you to use. The bathroom has a small hot tub which is partially heated by wood stove outside. Make sure to keep the fire going as it takes a while to heat up. There is a waterfall shower head and handheld wand for the shower. We had plenty of hot water for showers the first two days, Sunday mornings shower was a little chilly. There is a private commode in the bathroom as well as a sink. There are plenty of towels as well as soap, shampoo and conditioner. We opted for breakfast on Saturday and it was wonderful. The host delivered it promptly at 9 am and it was hot and fresh. We even found out his secret for the French toast. We had an issue with one of the lights, so we send a text just so they would know. He replied immediately and came to fix it. He was very respectful of our privacy but was always available to answer questions or deliver firewood. While he was there fixing the light we were talking about his farm and how everything works. I could have talked for hours about all the things he did in the domes. He is very knowledgeable and likes to tinker with everything. There is wifi there but it doesn’t always work. I’m sure that was user error on our part as it worked at times. We didn’t miss the wifi as it forced us to put the phones down. We had brought games to play so we stayed occupied. We did trek out on Saturday to Gap Mills to visit the Cheese and More store and the Dough Ball bakery. Wonderful food at both places. Downtown Lewisburg is also close by if you want to shop in small boutique stores. Thank you to our host for an amazing and peaceful weekend. It was what we needed to recharge before the holidays. We will visit again and check out one of the domes by the creek.
