Newhouse Family Inn — Hotel in Lewisville

We had been on the road for a month staying mostly at typical name hotels found off freeways. Rooms were predictable and service was mostly mechanical. On August 24 I was in Indiana and I went online to book a room. Of the choices I saw good reviews for Newhouse Family Inn so I booked it without much thought. I was tired when I drove up to what was clearly not a motel but a very old farm house. No neon lights or signs. Instead I met the hosts, John and Charlotte waiting on the porch for us. They took us inside to s very old and beautifully restored house filled with a combination of antique furniture and modern appliances. I expected a room and discovered we had the whole house to enjoy. The room was large with a king bed and we had a peacefully nights rest. When we awoke I only wish we could stay longer. We have never stayed at a B&B and were in the area and all the hotels had bad ratings so we thought we would try here. Very glad we did. The inn is an old school and has been renovated into 3 very nice rooms. We were in the Blue room that was very nice with a king size bed and a lot of room. The only drawback is sharing the bathroom with the “Schoolroom”. Not an issue for us but I guess it depends who you share with. The Rose Room is upstairs and has a private bath if that is an issue for you. The owners sat and visited with us the first night and made us feel at home. Beautifully restored inn. Friendly hosts were waiting for us when we arrived late. The inn was immaculate and full of antiques as well as modern conveniences. The kitchen was stocked with ample supplies. The room, Blue Room, was large with a king bed and lots of storage space. Very clean. My stay was extremely satisfying.
