Nice and cozy. I tent camped on a Thursday and Friday night. The main bathhouse has showers and toilets but there's also porta-potties appropriately dispersed throughout the site. Expect tons of aircraft noise during working hours, but not so much otherwise.

Beautiful campground. Lots of birds, Eagles, Herron and Osprey. Bathroom and shower are closed and not sure where the others are. Base needs to address this. We knew coming in but it's been down for a while. Otherwise great camp, but be prepared to boondock.

Stone locations are better than others as far as view. Great location for base beach and golf course. Ended up leaving a couple days early because camp spot was boring.

We are full-time RVers in a 32’ 5th Wheel. We have stayed in many Corps of Engineers (COE) campgrounds, most of which have just electric and water, just like Goose Creek. However, Goose Creek was no where near up to par with the COE campgrounds we have experienced nor the other military campgrounds we have experienced. We had reservations for 19 nights…we stayed two. The site (A3) was as advertised: 30amp electric with water. It was plenty big, but not maintained. The biggest problems we had were: 1. Mosquitoes. They must have learned from the test pilot school at PAX River how to attack in formation, because there was no sitting outside without being attacked full force! And 2. The only dump station was 2.5 miles away. Pulling a blue tote 2.5 miles in base traffic, not to mention across an active runway and taxiway, was not my idea of fun. Additionally, every other site on our loop (except for the camp host who also worked full time) were active duty geographic bachelors. Nothing against active duty geographic bachelors, but the result was no one was around, period. Also, there were no amenities…dog parks, walking paths, nothing. The bathroom/shower was at the campground entrance which could be a 5-10 minute walk and they were nothing to get excited about. The camp host did tell us the best time to be there was around October and I believe him (he has lived there six years). The base does have a nice commissary and NEX and all the other amenities. If you are in the area for a particular event and need a place for a few days at a very reasonable price, I guess this would be fine. This simply is not the typical famcamp that you would expect on a military installation. We ended up moving to the Navy Recreation Center Campground at Solomons, MD (only about five miles away and also under PAX River NAS) and have...

Horrible place. Do not waste your money. You pay over $3000 annually for a site with zero benefits. The bathhouses have been out of commission for over 2 years with promises to have them up and running. There is also no septic hook up and to have your rv pumped they charge you. They also have a beautiful dock and launch unfortunately the launch fee is not included in your annual lot lease. This place is dirty hole in the wall and you get nothing for your money. Stay away at...

I really liked my site. Good tree coverage and a lot of space. It felt like it could have been two separate spots. Good for a weekend getaway to relax and leave the world behind. Phone service in the area isn't good if you have T-Mobile. Dumpsite is about 3 or 4 miles down the road. Staff was awesome. The are pleasant and...
