The service at the front desk was phenomenal. I mentioned how I felt bad they weren’t with their families on thanksgiving, and she said we were their family for the evening. They offered an option of which floor would we prefer. The room was very clean and the hotel is located close to where we needed to be. 😊 This is our second time at this property and they have not disappointed.
Edit as per third stay with them.
I reserved a 4 night stay and was never told the hotel was under maintenance until New Year’s Day at 4am when I returned to a memorandum taped to my door that someone would be servicing the A/C in all of the rooms beginning at 9am. It went on to explain they were serving the entire hotel from December 30th through January 2nd. Coincidentally the time I would be there. It would have been nice to know this information during the reservation process or upon check in so that I could make the choice of never getting good rest or staying somewhere else. I spoke with Jennifer, the manager, who advised me it’s just something they have to do as if she really didn’t care. I went on to explain to her that I was in town to spend time with family and ONLY needed the room to sleep and shower and wasn’t able to sleep with all of the noise going on at the hotel. Jennifer explained the notice was supposed to be all around the building. I asked her to use all the fancy cameras to see if this was done. She then offered Hilton reward points or one night stay removed. I can’t say this offered me 100% satisfaction; don’t post it if you don’t stand by it. Servicing the rooms while guest are there at 9am on New Year’s Day, as if people don’t stay up the night before ringing in the New Year and may want to sleep in isn’t a smart way to do business. So I had to answer the door in my pajamas and allow these men in to service the A/C unit while they blasted their music from a speaker hanging from their clothing. Even once they were done, you had to continuously hear the staff shouting demands to one another during this entire process on each floor. When the service guys removed the A/C, they slam it in the floor of the room, so when they do the other rooms, including the floor above the day before, it sounded like bowling above us. Management really dropped the ball on this one. There should have been signage on the front door and counter to allow guest to make the decision to stay or go elsewhere. This is normally a very nice location, just...
Read moreAs a former resident of the Columbia, SC area, I had never personally stayed in this Hampton Inn before last week. However, I had family members who had stayed here previously while visiting me, and recommended it to me while I traveled back to Columbia for business. Based on my recent stay, this Hampton Inn is one of the best I have ever stayed in over several years' time! The rooms were designed spaciously and with nice little touches with different options for storing luggage, and with a comfortable seating area. The swivel TV was perfectly placed to allow easy viewing in bed and in the seating area. The rooms were impeccably clean, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable.
Additionally, the staff at the front desk went above and beyond to assist. I want to personally mention Camaro and Shana, who both went out of their way to help me while exhibiting exceptional customer service and with a smile on their face. The only minor complaint I had was with trying to exit the hotel onto Sunset Blvd (U.S. Hwy 378) during peak traffic times. The road is very heavily traveled with a high speed limit, so just be careful when exiting the hotel. It may be beneficial for the hotel to work with local authorities to install a traffic signal to make exiting safer.
Overall, I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel if traveling to or through the...
Read moreAs a 20-year business traveler who is LIFETIME Diamond with Hilton and is on the road 100 plus nights a year I NEVER do reviews. I just don’t have the time and quite honestly most stays under deliver.
HOWEVER: My recent stay at this hotel may have been my best stay ever at a Hilton hotel so I felt compelled to compliment the franchise owner and the staff.
THIS IS HOTEL IS THE STANDARD in which all hotels in the network should strive for (seriously – Hilton needs to bring new or current franchise owners to this location as the model to see how it should be done).
Modern facilities, clean, comfortable bed, excellent hotel gym (one of the best I have seen), friendly staff, and even the breakfast was good (I haven’t eaten breakfast at a Hampton in years).
WELL DONE, to the owner of this...
