This was an absolutely wonderful B and B! We drove along forested roads to arrive at the lodge. Very secluded and private setting! The original outbuildings are still standing as well as the old majestic barn. The lodge is a beautiful log home built by the father of the owner. We were greeted by a very friendly Helga and our hostess gave us the room over the garage. It was very private, spacious, and clean! There were wild turkeys, song birds, and hawks but our favorite were the hummingbirds flying around the flowers and the feeders on the veranda! All we heard was the birds and the creek flowing through the property! In the evening as we sat outside on the veranda the deer crossed through the yard and then we heard them splash through the creek to graze in the meadow on the edge of the mountains! Such beauty and so quiet! The perfect retreat to which we will soon return! At night we opened the windows and the patio door which created a cool breeze and we fell asleep listening to the creek! The next day we were treated to a wonderful breakfast and the company of our very interesting hostess. Before we left our hostess picked up peacock feathers and gave them to us! A wonderful memory we displayed in our home to remind us of Bobtail...
Read moreI looked at all the reviews and decided to take a chance. I realized, after the fact, the fact that all the reviews were at least a year old. When I called to make our reservations, the owner, Teddy told me that the B&B is up for sale. She quoted me a price which was different from what was advertised on line. Teddy told me that her prices have gone up, but she did honor the price that was advertised. We risked it and went ahead with our reservations. It is clear that they have given up on their B&B. The grass was overgrown. We were met by numerous dogs and a cat upon our arrival. While we love animals and have a few ourselves, I didn't appreciate having to maneuver around them to get in the door. The garden hose was strewn on the sidewalk as well. The log home in the country is decorated in outdated Victorian linens and decor. We attempted to enjoy sometime on the deck but everything was dirty. While our room and bath were clean the bath had been neglected and could have been cleaner. There is so much possibility at this B&B. I hope whoever purchases it brings it to its full potential. We did find the owner to be accommodating and...
Read moreMy family and I had a wonderful time staying at the Bobtail Lodge. The views of the evergreen-covered mountains surrounding the lodge were gorgeous and the owner, Teddi, was very generous and friendly. My children and I thoroughly enjoyed all the wildlife and animals on the property, especially the peacocks, butterflies, and deer. There were lots of fun things to do in the area. My family and I went on a fun mountain bike ride on a trail through the woods, we went to the Ross Cedars, Swinging Bridge, Libby Dam, and Glacier National Park. I wished we had more time. The accommodations were great and very private. We stayed in the rooms above the garage. There were two connected rooms for my husband and I and our children with balconies on each room. We relaxed on the spacious deck and enjoyed Teddi's fabulous cooking at the main house. I would highly recommend this B&B. It was a unique and...
