I'll start with positives: Clean, no funky smells, big space, decent bathroom/beds, crisp, white bedding/towels and all expected toiletries/kitchen essentials. Decent outdoor spaces. Communication with manager about the door lock needing a new battery was handled quickly. Now the rest: I'll start with the logo. It in no way reflects the vibe of this place. This big house springs up out of nowhere and looks like it might be on a list of haunted houses. Stark exterior with only a small fountain surrounded by a ring of weeds. What it lacks in charm, it makes up for in strange. If you live for recycling, this is your place. The walls are adorned with pieces of fabric, paper & assorted bric-a-brac, likely covering squares of cardboard, stapled to the wall (staples showing), covered with clear vinyl and bordered with slats from old window blinds. It feels like you might have stepped inside of a middle-school art project. Furnishings are mostly garage sale chic, with the exception of the bed and an accent which both appear new. The rusty fridge was likely built in 1978 (When's the last time you saw a fridge with frozen coils inside?) and is also sheathed in plastic covered fabric. Ear plugs were provided likely due to noisy road behind hotel, but the house also makes lots of noise when people walk around in other rooms. You will need to take an eye sleep mask as lots of light comes in through the sheer curtains both at night, from exterior lights, and sunlight. No rooms on the stilted bottom level and no elevator. Can't do stairs, don't stay here. You can walk past another creepy, abandoned house on the property down to the small river where you can sit, paddle board for one or kayak for 2. Bring your own life jacket. Several decent hammocks, picnic tables and grills available. Hidden fire pit inside the little bamboo forest it not bad, has plenty of stacked wood and chairs. Bring your own lighter and starter. Overall, not a terrible experience, but a one-time oddity for sure. The whole package, from the logo to the exterior and then onto the funky decor of the rooms, doesn't mesh well. Just as long as you know what you are getting, it is a unique place to stay. Would be a fun place for big groups of young people out for...
Read moreWe reserved 3 units for few or our of town guests for my daughters first birthday at the River Ranch Inn. Me and my husband were looking for a beautiful outdoor spot to host my daughters birthday and we came across River Ranch . We had the most wonderful experience in terms of service, communication and hospitality from Amber and her husband. There is a lot of stress involved in organizing a party and I am so glad we chose place because there was no stress or unexpected surprises that we had to deal with. Everything was explained clearly and we had a wonderful experience. The rooms are basically units and all the units have two bedrooms, bath and a kitchenette. Our guests loved this convenience and the rooms. They said the most wonderful things about their stay. Each unit is uniquely designed and truly beautiful. But the best thing about the property is certainly the outdoor space. It has a access to a small river and outdoor hammocks that the guests can enjoy. If you have little ones it is a great little place for them to explore and have fun. I do not usually have the time to leave reviews but I was compelled to leave a review for Amber and her husband because they have done such an incredible job with the place and are such a delight to deal with!! I would highly...
Read moreWow! We loved our visit to the River Ranch Inn! We live locally in Liberty Hill and we have been curious about this place since moving here, so we decided to book some rooms to celebrate our birthdays. We booked 4 of the rooms and were able to welcome some of our local friends to spend the day/evening with us. We were not disappointed! The Inn and grounds are absolutely beautiful and each room has its own charm and energy (photos do not do them justice at all). It was a bit of a dreary weekend with the weather being rainy and cooler, but we still enjoyed the hiking trails, skipping rocks on the river, bird-watching, the bamboo forest fire pit, relaxing in the hot tub, and food/laughs with our family and friends! The uniqueness of the fire pit surrounded by bamboo was our favorite! The walking paths that were paved were amazing since it was raining off and on so we didn’t get muddy (unless we wanted to) and we could still use the wagons/strollers to bring some of our younger kids down to the river. We also had the pleasure to meet the owners and they are so hospitable and kind! We and our friends had a few requests during our stay and they responded promptly every time! We hope to return soon! Thank y’all for sharing y’all’s...
