I spoke with a younger girl each time I called and frequently when I was in the store. She was so sweet, friendly, and helpful! We ran into several people that were told they couldn't bring a specific breed of dog, which is disappointing.||We were in the pull through sites, they were a great location, right across from the bathhouse and some of the closest sites to the boat slip/docks. The campground is quiet, wifi service is okay. You can't watch videos but can do basic stuff online. No cell service (AT&T, heard Verizon had 3 bars). Full hookups were great, best water pressure I've seen. Our site was large, asphalt to park on (which was perfectly level, yay!), gravel and grass beside the camper. Our area was swampy when we arrived, we dug a drainout ditch and that helped to get rid of some of the water. Nice fiberglass picnic table, fire ring at each campsite. Nice trees around for shade. ||There is no beach or swimming area at the campground (for the lake). We had to drive about 20 minutes away to a day use area. They do have a small pool (full sun) which is busy with kids. They have docks and a boat slip. They are at the end of the lake so the water quality isn't the best. They have 2 pontoon boats you can rent (200 half day, 380 full day). We rented one for a half day and were able to get out on the lake. The staff helping us with the boat was down to earth, friendly, and helpful. They also included a tube to pull behind but, the max speed is 10-13 mph. ||Lots of sites for a smaller campground. Some seasonal campers on one side. No off leash dog park but pick up stations are around the campground. No planned events that I saw. Kids riding around on bikes. Not a bad campground for the price but, I think we will try another campground if we return to the area just because there is no lake...
Read moreHeritage Cove should be named Party Cove.
The pro's to this campground is the location to the lake, It has boat access to the lake.
The reality:
The sites are very close together, and generally covered with shale. (Great for an RV not great for a tent). We requested a site a week in advance and got a horrible site, Fortunately, they moved us from an all dumped shale site to a mostly grassy site, without any issue. The staff we spoke to and dealt with where friendly and accommodating.
After a few days of rain just prior to arriving, the tributary was high, after checking in and confirming and paying for a slip, they closed the launch. I had to go back and ask for the slip fees, it seemed that the lady didn't know it was closed. But again she was nice and accommodated. Closing the ramp, in my opinion, wasn't necessary, and it forced everyone to use Weaver Falls.
This campground has steadily gone downhill. This used to be somewhat family friendly, be aware that there is no enforcement of quiet hours. If you want to go party with the friends, then this is the place for you. If you have kids and want a quiet peaceful weekend, be aware that they do not enforce the quiet time. Friday and Saturday nights, there were loud parties well past 1 am. It isn't child-friendly, it isn't sleep-friendly, and certainly, no one cares.
The bath houses are barely serviceable, The shower curtains were moldy, and the showers looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. How hard is it to hang clean shower curtains?
Firewood, they gouge you for firewood, while convenient to pay a few extra dollars for wood there, (they do deliver it to the site) it was soaking wet.
Overall if you want a place to camp and don't mind the free for all party atmosphere then this...
