Rented three cabins. K16, K6, and K7 to enjoy the camping experience with my family. We spent three nights at the facility. This was our experience.
A few positives. The ice cream social consisted of HUGE scoops of ice cream. First scoop is free, $1 for the proceeding scoops. Free marshmallow roasting where staff assisted each element and made it quite enjoyable. Staff was absolutely wonderful. The luxury cabin was quite lovely. As were the rustic cabins. The cement pad made for a very relaxing time outside our lux cabin and was large enough for our family to eat and bbq around the fire and outdoor table. And having a hammock I was pleased that the trees behind our cabin grew just right. Nature comes through for me once again!
I really wish I could give the campground as a whole 5 stars, but here are some issues we ran into that couldn’t be resolved.
If you have kids and want to enjoy the camping experience be mindful that the rv dumping station is right next to the park and the smell permeates up to 100 feet in whichever direction the wind is blowing. It smells atrocious and this campground has officially gone down as the stinky koa. I could hardly stand the smell the moment I entered the park with my kids. I understand moving a septic can be expensive, but planting a few sun flowers around the station is like putting a bandaid on a broken leg. It’s simply not working to solve the issue.. Maybe move the park??
Staff lives up above the camp store and watches the reviews so be sure not to post the review while at the facility. I had Molly approach my mother and I after I wrote and deleted a very honest review about the smell during a midnight trip to the bathroom. She approached us to harass my mother and I about our concerns with the customer care and consideration of the facilities infrastructure. She argued that any issues need to be brought directly to her so they can be ironed out. Then she proceeded to tell us that maybe we know for next time and simply won’t stay there.
My mother paid over $250 a night for her luxury cabin and her feet turned black because of the unmopped floors. No soap in the showers. No garbage bags. No toilet paper. No linens. No utensils. And you’re expected to clean and prepare the cabin for the next booking. I will attach the list of cleaning expectations on the luxury cabin. This was not worth the price we paid. This price warrants an all inclusive stay. They offered my mom free linens when she was not informed during her over the phone booking that there would not be linens on her $250 a night LUXURY CABIN BED. What? They ended up charging her card for the “free linens” she was offered.
The bathrooms didn’t bother me much because we had the luxury cabin with a bathroom, but one of the faucets was actively shooting water at anyone who tried to use it and there was no sign or anything to warn users. The bathrooms are clearly unkept and the three days I was there the soap dispenser that was empty was never filled.
This is a great campground, I just wish the owners cared to move the septic. If you don’t have kids and can avoid the restrooms it’s quite a lovely place. I just can’t quite get passed Molly harassing us about my previous review so I am going from the 2 stars previously offered to 1.
I had lost my ring in the cabin and a few weeks later it was mailed to me which was a great consideration. Staff was quite lovely, even Molly aside from our...
Read moreThe campground is on the opposite side of a lake from Lincoln City and about a mile away from US 101, so it’s quiet and secluded. The entrance to the campground isn’t the best: it’s a paved sloped narrow road for about 100 feet before widening enough for two-way traffic. You continue down the hill and then make a left and then a right to pull up next to the office to check in. We were asked for the license plate of our tow vehicle, so have that handy.
We stayed in site 13, a pull-through site, which meant we were on the hillside along the entrance road. The hillside sites are terraced, with gravel pads, a small grass yard, a picnic table and fire pit with legs, and hedges between each site. Our fifth wheel’s leveling system had to do some work to get us level front-to-back and side-to-side, even after we put a board under one set of tires. We probably had enough room to park our 21-foot truck in front of our 37-foot RV after unhooking if we had parked at an angle, but we just ended up parking in one of the spots across the entrance road from our site. There is a row of back-in sites behind the pull-throughs; most of the rest of the sites (smaller back-in sites, tent sites, and cabins) are in the flat area at the base of the hill (all of the full hookup sites are on the hill).
Most of the amenities are clustered near the office building, which sells the mix of convenience store items and souvenirs typical of a KOA store, and contains bathroom, shower, and laundry facilities. There are horseshoe pits and a children’s playground located behind the office, and a set of dumpsters next to the building. Across the street from the office is the propane refill station, cans for recycling aluminum and plastic, a small rec room, and a cafe that serves hot breakfast (pancake, waffle, egg, and sausage dishes) from 7am to 11am. There is also a small open field across from the office for casual play that has two disc golf baskets.
The enclosed dog park located across the entrance road from the pull-through sites is fairly large but irregularly shaped: the back right “corner” slopes down and out-of-site from the entrance. Not really a problem, just something to be aware of if you like to keep an eye on your dogs at all times. There is also a short and steep wooded trail on the east side of the campground were you can also walk your dog if they get bored of the dog park.
In terms of cell service, the best speed I got on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna was 14Mbps down and 23 up, and we could stream video with very little pixelation or buffering. The best speed I got on my AT&T smartphone was 57Mbps down and 3 up.
We would stay here again if we were...

Upon check in there was a courteous fellow there to help us back in and get situated. Electric and water are immediately on site. ||There is a camp cafe that does delicious biscuits and gravy. There is a common room||They create an interactive environment with well-organized ice cream socials and dinners. The tickets are on adorable playing cards. They recently installed Frisbee golf cages. There are also horseshoes, a children’s playground, corn hole. We have thrown flags and spun poi on the large lawns. There is also a basketball hoop and a tennis net. When we want to hunker down in our RV that is good too. Our site has an ample, clean fireplace, a freshly painted picnic bench. There are porch swings, two seated rocking chairs.||Its surveillance is unassuming but thorough, which makes us feel very safe. Their laundry room is clean with a little bookshelf and prayer requests box. The washers and dryers get the job done beautifully. Their general store is very comprehensive with food, drinks, repair supplies, RV supplies, souvenirs, local oddities, toys. ||There is a lovely uphill hiking trail on the eastern boundary. There is a winding path and a more challenging steeper path, both of which lead to a clearing at the end of the path with a picnic bench. There are also several scenic rest points with benches along the way. See if you can find the Sasquatch! ||I have heard complaints that there are spiders and I have seen them, sure. That said, there are few to no other insects (e.g. mosquitos, ticks, ants). There are adorable banana slugs. The spiders are non-venomous and cute. So, use common sense: don’t mess with them, they wont mess with you. You’re never more than a few feet from a spider anywhere. This is nature.
